Face codes were introduced in ME2, so no you can't (unless there's some PC-only trick that I'm not aware of). I'd suggest recording the slider values instead, those seem to always stay the same.

For the life of me, I cannot understand the love of Garrus romance. It is just the most awkward thing ever. I mean there are a few cute lines, but it is just so weird. With Tali at least she shows interest in Shep. She's always talking about how awesome he is and how much she admires him. But we never get a hint about Garrus feeling something for Shepard until the 'reach, flexibility' conversation. And then, um head bump? 

Seriously, it's barely a romance at all. 

ME2 romances are split into 3 categories:

Best Friend Sex (Tali, Garrus)
Sexy People Sex (Jacob, Miranda)
Damaged People Sex (Jack, Thane)

Every single one of those romances just feel like a giant cliche to me. They don't feel real to me. Liara, Ashley, and Kaidan all developed this real love for Shepard that matured over time. ME1 relationships don't fit into a neat category, they feel natural.

It just doesn't feel like love to me. I guess you could make an argument for Thane and Jack but I feel more like psychiatrist than a lover. Like I'm just filling a void for them, not curing them.

Yes! So I'm not alone in this opinion. With the possible exception of Thane, all of the ME2 romances felt like something that was NOT SERIOUS. Thane might have developed into something serious, but HE"S DYING. And, we know the devs are barely going to give the galaxy a glimmer of happy ending let alone write in a miracle cure for one lone romantic interest at the 11th hour - so, NOT SERIOUS.

The more I think about the whole voice acting and closed off dialogue in the Jacob/FemShep interaction, the more I think it was intentional that we were throwing ourselves at Jacob like a shameless and desparate woman, and he finally decided to "hit that" at the end because "hey, free booty and I might die tomorrow."

As for Garrus, it was pretty much lifted straight out of Farscape. The Peacekeepers use sex as another way to keep the peace on ship and ease pre-battle tensions between warriors. Garrus likes and respects Shep enormously, but if there's anything deeper than that between them, I'm missing it. They're two comrades in arms easing the tension before the fight of their lives, not the loves of each others' lives.

Those are my opinions anyway.

At that point, there wasn't much going back. Same with Shep.

I love Garrus. Would I call what he is to Shepard, "loyal"? I honestly feel like from the beginning Garrus was going kind of rogue so it wouldn't matter to him who Shepard was working for or anything like that. It's not like he had to readjust who he was in order to understand her or question anything. He was someone who believed the ends justify the means, imo. Loyalty would mean that even if he didn't believe what she was doing was right, he did it anyway because, well everything be damned, it was Shepard. That wasn't it, to me.

Kaidan had a different set of principles. Would I call Kaidan disloyal? No. I just didn't. It was OOC for Shepard to be working with Cerberus. Period. This was a case of unique and almost impossible circumstances.

As far as Garrus romance is concerned, I just couldn't cross the line. Garrus was like family to me and I could never see him in that way. lol

I romanced Thane once. I romanced Jacob as well. I romanced Tali and Jack through my male shep saves. IMO the best ME2 romance is Tali/Shep. And for femshep, the best is still Kaidan. Even though there's no love scenes, the angst and the letter was just buildup, the beginning climax/dilemna of their love story.

ita with this! I never romance anyone in ME2 (with the one time exception of Thane) because it doesn't feel natural to me. It feels very forced and if I pursue a romance my femshep comes across as very sexually aggressive... which is... awkward. I really don't understand the step back (IMO) in the romance between the games.

ME1: Flirty banter/awkwardness/depth - it was subtle but obvious enough that you could avoid being ninjamanced. 
ME2: Option 1: "I want you." Option 2: "I don't want you."

That's what it felt like to me anyway.
Plus, even though I romanced Thane once I actually felt weird about it. I adore the story he tells about his wife and this might sound strange but I didn't want my Shep to.. discount that you know. I love them together. And I guess if he dies they can be together again.. sort of.

agh. To stay on topic, my favourite romance is Kaidan because - all of the above.

You gals are seriously crazy, our minds went to the gutter way to many times (while talking about Kaidan of course) and it was GLORIOUS!

@Facebook Wow some of those people are SO RUDE, if they don't like a character that's fine but seriously they need to be respectful and not bash other peoples favorites.

I have romanced all the guys (not a big Jacob fan though), and some of the gals in my playthroughs. I got four femsheps, one faithful to Kaidan (my canon and favorite romance), another for Garrus, another for Thane, and the last for Liara and faithful. I have three dudesheps, one for Jack, one for Tali, and the last is single, gay, and waiting for the right guy to come along.
