Anyways back to Kaidan. Someone sent a request and I've been doodling it but they specifically wanted Kaidan's bioatic amp to show.
I immedately thought "I wonder if it ever itches." :| And it must be the same color of his hair or his hair is long enough to hide it since you can't see it on him. (Not to mention none of the biotics seem to have one shown at all)
What are your thoughts on the hidden amps?/curious
I'm thinking they're under the skin at the base of the skull or where the skull meets the neck... I remember is the 'real' books they'd (the staff) check the amps of the kids in the grissom acadamy with a device that had prongs that went just below the skin to check the readings.
This is something I think about-- how sucky it would be to be biotic. First is dodging the fate of being stillborn. Then cancer. Then all the aliments, crippling pain, insanity, etc. Then one has to get surgery, and maintain the amp.
You gotta figure there's a port, which means that your nervous system is partially exposed at all times. I repeat, the nervous system is partially exposed at all times. Because no matter how well made a port is, its not a work of nature. Its a a man mand extension. Things like leaking synovial fluid might be an occasional problem. Resulting infection would be a very bad problem.
All because some rich guy thought this should be the future of humanity

The crippling pain & insanity is only L2's. And if it's back there shouldn't we be able to see Jack's? I always assumed that what the thing on her ear was. Connected to her brain there. Maybe it's just a funky earring.

Only L2s would still mean waaaay too many. The Biotic Extremists and others claiming reparations are a signifigant number. Jack would conflict with the codex entry, but to take devil's advocate she's an L5. My vanguard shep is an L5 with no earring but details schmetails.
I scanned through the Thane leaked spoiler script and Thane describes the amp being visible at one point.
I attribute it to a cartoon version of reality where things are mentioned but not shown, or someone forgets to draw something in, or something. The 80s will do that to you.

Yeah, if it's at the base of the skull, Jack's and even biotic fSheps that have their hair pulled up or short should show. I guess it's something that's under the skin? But even then, how would you remove it to clean it and stuff?
I've also wondered about Jack's ear thingy. I figured it had something to do with her biotics, but I have no idea what. I did a quick scan of her page on the ME wiki but there's nothing that explains what that is.

I always pictured them as being like the jacks in the Matrix. Especially considering biotics can upgrade their amps. But you're right, it never shows in the game and it should have been obvious on Jack.Aoibheann wrote...

It looks to me as though they're on their way out imminently so I'm gonna make sure any credit I've got with them gets spent asap. I have £5 on a trade-in card, thinking I might nip in store and do the same, no doubt there'll be like a bazillion different DLCs for ME3 within the first few months so I can put them towards that.
Edit: Me being a pratt

Lol, poor Cartman. That's why I'm glad my BF is as into games as me, albeit not the same games, not many people can understand this sentiment whilst waiting for a game or the total meltdown I had this afternoon when my preorder got canx.

Why I'm glad that I go to a game dev college program. Prior to Skyrim's release someone could randomly turn away from their computer and just say "Skyrim" and there'd instantly be tons of people voicing their excitment. (And then there'd be people like me who just found it amusing to witness.)
Feels odd to know that over two years of waiting is soon over.
