As far as I know that is the difference. I got the CE game version and I wanted the guide as well. Maybe someone else can chime in if there are other extras.

i hope they are straight-forward guides  bought myself the original as i spent my whole paycheck on the CE edition of the game :pinched:

I've had both the ME normal one and the ME2 Collectors edition, they're easy enough to follow, main storyline is first then side missions on the end divded by area.  Then planets are at the back with resources etc.

It can look a bit overbearing at first but they're actually not too bad :)

Edit: forgot to mention that right at the begining of each guide has tips about character development they're titled combat and training I think but both guides follow the same format

I don't have money for a guide :(. My playthrough won't be perfect ;(. Damn it.

as far as i know, aslong as you do every sidemission you can and get your galatic readiness rating to the highest thats the best possible result anyone can have.

I never bought a guide for ME & ME2 i just used youtube and blogs to help me when i needed guidance ^_^

I hope someone will help me ... I don't wanna have the worst ending :pinched:.

I don't want to have the worst ending either Posted Image Posted Image ....if I somehow fail on getting the best possible ending on my first playthrough (for the first time, I want to play it through without knowing anything), I'll probably come sobbing to the forums asking you Kaidanites for help...I intend on being very thorough with my playthrough, more so than I was in the previous 2 games, so I'm hoping I'll be able to get the best ending...I hope *crosses fingers*

Anyway...LESS THAN FOUR DAYS UNTIL KAIDAN!!!!!!!!!!! *squeeeeeeeeee*Posted Image

What she said

I have the standard editions of ME1 and ME2 guides. Both were easy to follow. Sometimes they will also give you some tips and squad recommendations based on the enemies you'll encounter.

Although I'll have the guide, I'll prob do a blind run through first and then a perfect NG+ afterwards.  I'm pretty thorough on all of my playthroughs, it would be nice if I could get the good ending on my own but we'll see.

Can't wait to see my Biotic God :wub::wub::wub::wub::wub:

I might hold off playing my game a day or two. I'm such a nerd when it comes to ME. I pick up the guide and comb through it so I plan out what I'm doing ahead of time. Plus I index it with post-it tabs according to what parts the guide covers. THEN i start playing >.>

I have a problem xD lol

lol you don't have one.. it's called smart research hehe.. i plan on joining you with my guide lol

Guys, please forgive my ignorance, but what does NG+ mean? I know it stands for New Game Plus, but what is that exactly?

When you finish a play-through of a game one time, the NG+ allows you to start a new game using the same character you completed the first play-through with. However, this time you get the keep the current level you completed with, all weapons, and you're awarded some bonuses as well.

So if you finish ME3 and left off at level 45, you can start a new game using that Shepard and you can continue to level up to 60 and you get to keep all the weapons (and I think armor) you collected in the previously completed file.

Thinking of armor... I'd say the spiky Reckoning armor would be perfect for fighting Brutes...hehe (at least looks wise.)

The only problem with the NG+ is that you lose that big Paragon/Renegade bonus that ME1->ME2 imported characters get.

I have no intention of getting a perfect play though the first time I play, then I don't have an excuse to play it again lol. I want to make the decisions that I think are right, have them not be and then replay the whole game. And of course I'm gonna have to make one play through just one giant mistake.

But this all depends on whether or not the end changes depending on what I do.

Happy Friday, all!

Just popped in to share my latest commission from Aimo with fellow Kaidan fans in celebration of Mass Effect 3's upcoming release. Just in case there was no happy ending for Male Sheps and Kaidan, I had Aimo create one for me. This is of Sheploo and Kaidan's Commitment Ceremony with some Vega hijinks thrown in for comic relief.  (I also posted this on the "For The Love" thread but for convenience I'm including it here.)  Hope you like!

Same here, i think even with a game guide the chances of a 100% perfect playthrough would be meerly impossible, considering the game is new to people. It will take a few trials and errors.

Guh, I can't stand game guides. Whenever I try to use one I have flashbacks to the 90s and having all my cousins breathing down my neck as I tried to play Sonic 2.

@ Crimson: Ah, I see. Thanks for answering! :)

Damn, now I'm seriously debating playing ME3 first with my canon instead of my tester. Canon is my ultimate playthrough so it would make sense for me to play her first and have a NG+ with her. Decisions, decisions...

Yay for Aimo's work! She's freakin' awesome! I hope more ME3 goodness comes out after the release day

I'm making my first tester Shep be Teddy... I love her and all, but I have Charlie, Skylar, Ron, and everyone else to get through.....

But in all the madness, Teddy will have Kaidan!
