About getting Kaidan back... You'll get the option to have him rejoin later, after a certain main plot. You'll know it when it happens.

I also read somewhere if you do not have enough rep....he could be killed by you or a squadmate =/ I don't know how true that is but I have been doing side missions to make sure I have enough rep..LOL I am leaving eden prime so I can bring him along...I hope he lives or I will have to go back a few saves.

Yeah this ^^ I have heard its not too hard. Just make sure you take every opportunity to talk to him and get your rep points high enough and you will be golden!

Regarding getting Kaidan back (highlight for spoilers):
I've heard that whether you saved the Collector Base in ME2, whether you cheated and lied about it when asked (big no-no), and whether you visited him in the hospital at every opportunity all factor into whether it will be easy to earn his trust.  Personally, I want to get him back as soon as possible, so I'm going to try to figure out what the best sequence of missions and side quests is for maximum Kaidan return, lol.

And hoo boy, after seeing the m/m version of Kaidan's romance, I'm very excited to see how a continuing romance goes.  Work needs to go faster...

If you haven't come up to the Udina coup yet on the Citadel, DON'T PANIC!

Once that comes up, you'll run into Kaidan again. You'll come to a point in the conversation where you have to try and convince Kaidan that Shepard is on his side and that Udina is the enemy. f you don't have enough persuasion, you'l be forced to kill him.

I had approx three conversations with him at the hospital....well 4 if you count the one where you are talking to him while he is unconscious.  Two of which he requested I come see him via email.  It is my understanding you can add him to the squad after the genophage story arc.   I hope that helps hehe....


If someone finds out the best way to do the missions so I can get him back sooner...it will be much appreciated =D

I'm almost too afraid to play my cannon/kaidan shep.. she's currently with Thane atm but is not going to go through with it and will break it up before the relay.. does that still count as cheating if it's just talk?

Just thought I'd pop in. Kaidan has always been one of my MaleShep's best friends, and that scene where Shepard is talking to him during your first visit to the citadel almost made me tear up!
