I bought it, but I only thought it was for Dr. Chakwas because in ME2 we bought her brandy. I only realized it was for Kaidan when there wasn't any other gift shop option in the entire hospital. I guess they realized that while there was an obvious choice of things you can give Ashley, Kaidan's background really didn't give you any obvious options. What were they going to do? And, I just couldn't think that flowers and candy were going to be ... right.

Has anyone else had the romance switch over to Liara after the second hospital visit? I just went to talk to Aethyta and she called me Liara's girlfriend. And now I have no romantic dialogue with Kaidan in the hospital. I am in distress! He called me Commander instead of Shepard.

I had the romance stuff running perfectly before. Everything went well during the second hospital visit. Is it because I asked about Horizon again?

I asked about Horizon several times so I dont think that is it.  Perhaps when talking with Liara you choose a wrong flag??  Later in the game he calls you Commander even if you have the romance flag, at least in one mission.  I almost totally freaked when he did it.

Apparently the Aethyta quest is bugged and you get the Liara and Shep are a couple dialogue no matter what. But can anyone confirm or deny the opportunity for romance talk in the third hospital visit then? Do I go back to an earlier save? Or do I soldier on?

Liara doesn't act like we're in a relationship, so I don't think I accidentally kindled a romance with her.

That visit he really just says that he accepted the spectre position and when you mention coming back to the normandy he mentions having some things to do first.  You wont hear from him again until after you finish Act 1.

I *think*  you are ok to continue on

Thanks! Was weird to have romance-y conversations and then not one all of a sudden. Especially after the Aethyta thing. That I guess is just a bug. Gonna continue on. Will post an update, spoiler-free, in case anyone else freaks out like I did. I almost had a panic attack.

Also, no blacking out. Have to change text color to same grey as background color.

Finish the Krogan issues and head back to the citadel and he'll be back. Just be careful with that since it locks out some side missions. Also the whiskey thing is just one of many things that

spoilers:

him that you are on his side and Udina is the traitor. As long as you visit him in the hospital all three times and be nice on Mars, he'll believe you. After that, head back onto the Normandy. He'll be waiting.

Also, be aware, the mission for the genophage and the citadel mission are what I consider the two saddest in the game. You will figure out why but I needed a big box of tissues after these two

I have Kaidan on the ship, and...that' it. I miss chatting dangit! Is there a point of no return in this game? You know, you start this mission, or finish a certain mission type an get swooped into the end? Because...swooping is bad, and I don't want to miss anything
