It might be because I have a imported romance but I got a line of dialogue where Kaidan asked Shepard to wake him up next time she gets out of bed. In other words they are already sleeping together. La siiiigh. But yes the actually romance scene doesn't start until Point of No Return. You know 'I hope we don't die sex.'

Yeah, he just had to give her that look and Shepard melted into her boots. Been hanging on to some awesome screenshots. Can't take it anymore, so these are the most non-spoiler ones I can find.

Thanks Bioware for setting my standard for men ridiculously high.

OK... i think i'm getting less doom and gloom...still p'od and hurt about the endings but I think i might just play up until them...and at least get some Kaidan and Garrus 'action' hehe...going to restart when i get home... ( i forgot to tell Chambers to changer her name and the hanar broke on me...)

And MP the heck out of things... (still waiting on that damn code from Barnes&Nobles)

Isn't that just a reference to ME1?

It might be, but I thought it was implied that they were picking back up when they had their date on the Citadel. Kaidan mentions "benefits" when he kisses her hand, and she gets that look and says "back to the Normandy ASAP" or something like it. To me, that sounds like they were pretty well back "on" if you know what I mean.

So, it wouldn't surprise at all if that line is a reference to them being together before we get the "last night" romance scene. At least, that's what my head canon says. Image IPB

I assumed that it meant that they had stayed up together after the date doing SOMETHING, and he fell asleep after that SOMETHING near Shepard.  What that SOMETHING was is up to our own interpretation.  I know what I imagine it was.  :wizard:

Because why should I keep emotionally investing into more games if they're going to keep going with horrible endings? :( Real life sucks enough, I want something hopeful.

This.  What I also don't get.  So they killed you in ME2 to bring you back to kill you again?  I don't get it.  A crappy ending should be like how you can get a Joker only ending in ME2.

I'm finally able to post again.  Well, it's arrived and installed.  About to jump in though I think I might concentrate on MP first so I can import my Shep properly (once the fix is available - I hope it will be available).

frylock23 wrote...

Oh, I'm not afraid of the MP per se. I do enjoy it. It's just so intense that I can't run more than one or two matches in a row without needing a focus break. Plus, I'm the only one at home during the day with a small toddler, and he is prone to randomly interrupting me. I have a hard time being confident enough to jump into a 15-20 minute match when I'm not sure if I'll actually get 15-20 minutes without interruption.

So, it's more of a time issue than it is a fear or lack of desire to play it issue.

I have a much easier time finding ways to pause or stop the SP game at random places.

You know, I shouldn't worry about that too much.  The fact is people drop in and out all the time.  Stuff happens - you lose your connection, the game crashes or locks, there's a power cut or your husband sets himself on fire <true story> (or if you're a 14 year old, your mum comes in and pulls the plug yelling something about telling you to get to bed an hour ago).  Anyway, stuff.  The game will, if it can, drop in a replacement.  I've finished a campaign on a good number of occasions where the people I finished with were either fewer than I started with or completely different.  On one occasion I got to the end to find myself alone (not sure how that happened without getting shot) and I've finished with only one other several times now - lots of points to go round then.

Is there a point that the date with Kaidan gets locked out? I'm about to finish this run, and rerun it. And I think half my frustration with the romance was my accidently hitting that date too early. I had no idea it was coming, I just saw Kaidan sitting there and clicked on him...boom date. I'd like to hold it off until later this time but not miss it completely.

So I've played for about 40mins and I'm loving it so far. The little touches with Kaidan are so cool.

Like when Liara has a crisis of faith on Mars and Shepard looks over to Kaidan when she says she has a lot to live for SQUEEEE.

I know the endings so I'm going to squeeze out every bit before it hits me.

I gotta be honest, I'm glad I spoiled myself COMPLETELY before going into this game.  I already went through the stages of grieving, I've accepted it, and now I'm cool with enjoying the game for what it is, and I'm cool with making up my own ending, that will satisfy me more.

Maybe Kaidan and Shepard can move in next door to my Exile and Atton, who are down the road from Alistair, Cousland, and their kids, and Hawke, Fenris and Isabela...

So is the only way to get the happy ending is if you play MP? What if you don't have an X-Box live Gold account? That costs money that I don't have. That's why I don't play MP on ANY of my games.

Hello all ...

I am not reading all the thread for fear of spoilers ... but I do have a question I hope someone can help me with ...

(Possible spoilers ahead, FYI.)
.
.

.
.

Ok, here's my problem:

I am playing male Shepard, imported from ME1 and ME2 (no romantic attachments in either) and I think I might have missed something.

I visited Kaidan three times in the hospital (once after his first email, and once when I gave him the whiskey, and once when he was on his feet clothed and asked about being a Spectre.)  I chose the paragon options and the paragon pop-up.  All seemed well.

Then, I did not receive any emails, see him, or other interaction messages until I ran into him again during the Udina confrontation.

I chose to shoot Udina; when Kaidan asked me about it in the Normandy, I invited him back on board, I told him that I wouldn't have actually shot him (Kaidan) if it came down to it.  When I met Garrus down below, I wasn't paying attention and I said that I would have pulled the trigger [on a team mate.]  When I spoke to Kaidan after that in the observation deck, when he's leaned up on the glass, there was no seemingly intimate dialogue.

So ... did I miss some crucial moment, or mess something up, or is there more to play out?  I want my Kaidan!

PS -- meanwhile, without giving any indication to any of them, I had to fight off ALL 3 female LI's in my cabin ... in a row.  And then James (even though he didn't want know how hard my bed was, lol.)

Thanks!

No, don't worry, next potential romance conversation is on the date at the citadel. Do another mission and you should get an email about it. :)

I'm in the same boat, never got an e-mail, but he was on the Citadel and we had the date conversation. I'm worried about it being buggy though... what's the next thing that happens if you do trigger the relationship with him? Is there some way to confirm he is romanced? Is it not until the very end of the game?

It IS the little things they added to this that makes it so good.
Im going a quest in a completely dark building.
<insert noise of bottle rolling across the floor>
Shep "I heard something!!"
Kaidan sheepishly "Yeah...ah...I tripped... sorry"
I burst out laughing - which isnt good since its 330am and I woke the household lol

The same thing happened to me, then I noticed afterwards during one of the clicky non-cutscene convos when he is in the crew quarters, he invites Shepard to grab some food on the Citadel.  Was like, er, we already did that....

My ending is already made up in my mind. I'll probably write it when I've completed it. Have had to with all other Bioware games. I'm never happy really :P

I'm really enjoying it so far. Great to have Kaidan back.

*wakes up from ME3 coma* I have to say, I'm thoroughly enjoying my Kaidanmance even though I'm a mess of emotion over the endings. I raged, I cried like a little girl, I stared stupidly at my screen.... But I've decided that Kaidan is the main reason that I will play it over and over and over again. And like Vault, I'll have to write up my own ending - likely inspired by fluffy bunnies, rainbows, and tight buns.

The kid saying the citadel is part of him just made me1 & 2 totally pointless, why did he need soveriegn or saren? Just open up the relay himself and poof reaper fleet.

It seemed like the Catalyst god child thing couldn't actually do anything himself. Even though he kept saying the Reapers needed to exist, he easily gave Shepard the choices to remove(maybe even permanetly)/destroy them without some form of resistance.
Almost seemed like he was waiting for an organic to eventually make it there... Or something

Bioware left more questions than answers in my book <_<

that they did..

and as far as endings... I'd be thrilled with the shepard "alive" scene, then add the LI (Kaidan)or another squaddie running up searching through the rubble and comchatter with the Normandy about life signs etc and the Normandy slowly comes into view...then fade to black..

or something like that... i'd love for Kaidan to be able to save Shepard in the end...and my them have 'the smirk'
