Dont suppose anyone's online right now to help with recruiting Kaidan. I was a butt-kisser to him, visited him all 3 times, used the paragon option at the Udina coup thing, bought him booze... i just found out he should have met me at the docks after but he didnt, i just got a 'hard to say goodbye' message.. what the hell? I really dont know what i did wrong!

I doubt anyone has tried this yet since the game hasn't been out for a long time and people are probably just overjoyed to have Kaidan back but here's a quick question:

SPOILER!!!

If you choose not to take Kaidan on the Normandy, will the romance still continue? I've heard this talk about emails? I'm just wondering that if you don't recruit him, where is he by the time Shepard does her final choice? Like, say, if I choose to destroy the Reapers and Shepard survives it, is Kaidan also on Earth at that time, fighting the Reapers? Wouldn't they, technically, be able to be together on Earth after that? Just trying to whip up an alternative to everyone I like being jesus beamed into space when destroying my enemies. At least let Shep have the guy, dammit.

You do pick up about 100 more in the Illusive man's base, so you have 3536 afterward.

You're better off than I was. Basically, if you do enough MP to get your Galactic readiness to at least 58% you'll be good if your repuation bar is maxed I think.. That's less than I had to do, and I only had to do about 6 or 7 matches.

Basically, I kept logging into my last save on the Normandy before initiating the Illusive Man base attack (also the one before the romance scene) and checking my readiness percentage and EMS. It will update with what you've done in the MP and keep tabs current not based on what it was when you actually saved.

You returned to the Normandy right cause he's just inside the door to the Normandy? If you did that and he didn't show up, do you have a save before the moment with Udina? You seem to have done everything right and he should at least meet you before you get an email about it. Maybe it's some sort of bug? Ugh, bugs.

Also, pretty sure Kaidan would be with Hackett or on Earth in the final battle if you chose not to recruit him. But I couldn't do that cause I just loved the romance scenes so much. Stupid endings making me choose.

Thank you for sharing that!  Keep 'em coming! More Kaidan ending fanfics please! I'll read everything! I need to scrub that ending from my brain. It's still bringing me down 24hours later.

Liked and added to my signature. It's important to get as many people as possible so even if you feel that you can metagame these bad endings please vote anyway. If we show how much we all dissaprove of these endings, Bioware will have to listen. Thanks guys

is your readiness level 50%? you need the effective number to be over 4000. make your readiness level higher and the effective will go up. 50% of 6972 is 3486, so rise it to 60% for example to get it over 4000

The EMS is the only value that matters. The total means nothing.

According to the guide, you need 4,000 in one instance to get the "good" result, or 5,000 if you're not able to pull off the aforementioned instance.

Apparently, it simply is not possible without raising your readiness rating by playing multiplayer. But some people have said they saw the "good" result with less than 4K EMS, so it's not necessarily hopeless.

It's hard to believe that BioWare has simply been lying this entire time, but I'm not sure there's any other explanation for it.

Screenshot or it didn't happen. People have been saying they're getting high EMS with the default readiness, but nobody has yet shown an image of it happening that I'm aware of.

Well I certainly feel like my headcanon and all hopes got slapped around by a few Brutes, impaled by a Banshee or fifty and then blown to dust by a Reaper. I didn't have the score high enough to get the "good" ending, which, even if I had, it would've meant that my Shepard and Kaidan is... goodness know how many lightyears away from each other since I pretty much took Kaidan and Vega everywhere, and thus they seem to be the ones with the scores high enough to appear with Joker at the end. Which, in itself, makes a rather odd fact since I did bring them along for the assault. I'm totally cool with bittersweet endings and the game was wonderful up until those last 15 minutes, the conversation between Kaidan and Shepard once you get to Earth had me in tears. Satisfying endings... Yeah right.

I did every single side mission and all the citadel missions. I had 1 mission I forgot to do (Eden Prime) and two bugged(?) I guess because I had them in my log yet I was never able to go to the areas I was supposed and scan them as they wouldn't show up or something.  Everything else is completed as well as all systems scanned and at 100%.  Yet my EMS is only 3486 with my readiness at 50%.

Well I would have but I boosted it up to 100% readiness through MP before doing the last missions (wasn't sure what military strength I needed) for some reason I thought it was 5000. But before that it was like 7050 military strength with 68% readiness in all but the Earth sector which had 72%.

I'm just going to write the endings out in my fanfics because I am so very irked that I was depressed for two days straight and I still haven't even beaten the game:

1) Dallas gag, Shepard wakes up from a crappy nightmare, Kaidan's in the shower
2) See above, but she wakes up in Normandy SR1's medbay
3) She's on her beach that she fought just to get back to for one last time with Kaidan at her side.
4) ANYTHING I WRITE WOULD BE BETTER. :|
