Yeah I'm thinking the indoctrination/hallucination thing is what it is. They could have been more clear and there wouldn't have been such of an outrage by the fans I think.
We were talking on MP about all the Kaidan Scenes. And how if you take him on the samara mission you go "What's that noise?!" and he's all "Sorry I tripped >.>" Cracked me up. Sbarge did and AMAZING job with the voice acting in this one. I've heard the ashely one isn't as good.
There are so many times I just want to smack him. In a funny way. Like when he talks about the ArdatYakshi and EDI. When he did this. Their relationship just works for me, like they've been together forever.

I can appreciate dark endings. A lot of times, I even prefer dark endings in books and movies. Video games- a whole other thing, though. I want my Warden to marry Alistair. I want Revan to have Carth and be a part of the light side. I want the Bhaal-spawn to have the choice of staying with Anomen, annoying as he is. I want my last spirit monk to have a future with Sky. You get the point...If I romance somebody in a game, I want them to stay together. There are enough miserable things that I could feel depressed about going on in the real world, I don't need a video game to make me feel even more down.

Ok I am
obviously an idiot. I wanted to pick the destroy option. So I thought I
would just run toward the beam thing and it would give me the different
options, but Shepard just jumped in and I got the synthesis ending. What
did I do wrong and how do I pick destroy?
I'm just as stupid as you [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/tongue.png[/smilie] The first time I played the ending, I didn't notice that there were different ramps. I just walked straight ahead and thought I'd get to choose in a dialogue wheel what Shep would do. Instead she just goes and jumps right into the energybeam and have her skin melt away [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/crying.png[/smilie] I was pretty chocked. I didn't even understand which ending I got, I had to google the color to see that it was synthesis.

I don't get the whole 'Shepard was wearing different armour' thing, in my game she just looked like some of it had been blown off and other parts melted onto her. The thing that I don't get about that is if the heat was strong enough to melt armour that can resist bullets how does she still have an intact face? I guess it's gaem logic

My Shepard went into the battle wearing bright purple armor, but during the ending and the breath scene it is all melted and black. It's also a completely different style... weird

Anyway, there's so much Kaidan stuff I wanna talk about after finishing the game xD I loved his writing, (back)story and all he did. I'm very very happy with his new writer, I think she got everything perfectly. Will write wall of text on my Kaidan impressions tomorrow xD

I love the Kaidan romance in the game, btw. The lunch scene and the sex scene are very romantic, and I love the part when Shep wakes up after the dream. And I love the line where Kaidan says he's always loved her. The goodbye talk makes me want to cry, it's just heart-breaking. I recorded the goodbye talk with Fraps so I've been watching it over and over. Will do the same for the other romance scenes. The romance is very well written.

@IsaacShep (SPOILERS):
What do you mean the armor melted off when breathing? I don't recall seeing that...
(END OF SPOILERS)
The more I think back on it past my initial emotional reaction, the less and less the ending makes sense.
But on a brighter note, I'm going to begin a replay tomorrow and record the cutscenes onto my laptop. Maybe I'll just call it good on the morning of the Cerberus attack for all further playthroughs...
And I really fell in love with the Alliance casual uniform, I think I'm going to try to make the outfit (with my super *cough*nonexistent*cough* sewing skills).

At some point the vision should shatter and a Harbinger VI should appear, the reaper that is strangely absent aside from a 30 second cameo. Harbinger realizing he's been beaten begins threatening Shepard as Shepard goes to activate the Crucible. Reaper ships begin heading towards the citadel to try to stop Shepard. Shepard fully expects to go down with the citadel but then that's when the Normandy appears. The side hatch opens and Shep's LI or closest friend is standing there, offering a hand to help Shepard aboard. Right before activation the Normandy takes off with Shepard.
It's a bit like the destroy ending but this time the Normandy crashes on Earth and the Mass Relays still function so that big ass fleet can go back home again. Show a couple more scenes of other homeworlds seeing the Reapers deactivate. Pan back to the Normany. Hatch opens, out steps Shepard, then LI, then slowly the rest of the crew. They stare out across the once beautiful Earth, devastated but still there. Credits.
That wraps up everything and has a satisfying conclusion. No loose ends. The ending as it is now is impossible to decipher. We can come up with theories but they are just theories. Bioware promised to wrap up everything, they promised no LOST ending, they promised multiple endings. So were these all just marketing lies?

If they wanted to roll with the indoctrination thing none of the endings should have been the "perfect" one. Instead, Shepard should've broken from this stupid kid's control and argued that the synthetic vs. organic argument was false and that the peace between geth and quarian proved this.

This is sooo what I expected. Only I wanted something along the lines of Victory day - people cheering and partying in the streets.
So writing my own Mass Effect story. Maybe I will share it.

I don't need sunshine and rainbows >.> Im going to say it... I found the last scene with her breathing was enough.. IF...
Squadies stepping off the Normandy? Unacceptable! Seriously!
Half dead squadies being patched up behind one of those barricades as you see the reapers go down? YES! *That* would have been totally acceptable and totally given me a different outloook on the ending... because its so much more realistic than what is there now.

I'm starting to think that the endings were a fever dream. Shepard was knocked out cold from the blast of the reaper beam, fill in endings here, and then when the scene wit Shepard breathing in comes up, thats where Shepard is coming to. Or i'm just trying to grasp at something so that these so-called "endings" make sense.
Though I'm not entirely sure how that makes any sense out of the last scene where its winter and a old man is telling the story to a child.
I hope your right! It could of been one of those situations where she experiances something and comes to realizing what she has to do. The only thing the irks me is they said this was the end of shepards story... So why would they leave it open ended like that!?! B
The "Renegade" ending makes for a good sequel hook, if they hadn't said it was Shepard's last game then I'd be inclined to think they were leaving a cliffhanger for the next. As it is, I'm assuming (meaning: hoping) that they'll come out with DLC for the real ending.
You know what.. they 'say' this is Shepards last outing, but considering they lied their asses off about the MULTIPLE endings whose to say they wont bring out a ME4 with Shepard in it again...
unlikely I know, but this game's ending is either THE biggest troll EVER or EA told Bioware they HAD to get the game out by march and they did this knowing that they would fix things with DLC

Sheploo finds out what the ending is
In which Hitler makes a surprising amount of sense
Whatever happened in the end though, ME3 was freaking amazing and lived up to all my hopes and dreams until then. Especially in the Kaidan romance department.
Btw kind of OT but am I the only one that felt like Grunt's momma and felt like I lost my poor baby boy (not that I'd call him that within earshot) for those few seconds we thought he was dead?

But yes I was crying my eyes out with Grunt and Mordin and Thane.. and the goodbyes... yup I pretty much cried through the whole thing.
Maybe thats why by the actual end I was numb to the actual choices. Its only the Normady Jurassic planet squadies thing that got me grrring
Yeah I'll shut up about that lol. I can't help repeating my self
I think we all thought the same thing about the perving heheh

the chances are better then you would think that they will make a DLC that sorts out this debacle, this whole episode smacks of rushed endings whether they ran out of time because EA set a fixed release date after they delayed the first time.. it will all be a matter of timeframe
like if they release a 'better endings DLC' and do it quickly, then the game wasnt finished to start with and it was a push from EA to get it out in March, which for me makes Bioware blameless in all this
