Just read some very interesting observation. Vega mentions hearing a "hum" when you talk to him in the Shuttle Bay. It's like the same thing Kaidan said about the Conduit statue in ME1.

The plot thickens

Yeah, I wish they had done something different for Male/female, previous love interest, etc. to initiate a romance with everyone (not just Kaidan, but I'll use him as an example). Say if you're male, you don't do a "dinner date" with Kaidan unless you've agreed to a romance... like there should have been a "gauge interest" scene before that. I thought it was something special we got for already having romanced him before. Which for males looking to start a romance with him wouldn't work, but if you add something that unlocks this date ("gauge interest"), it might not have been so strange. And to prevent you from having the "talk" with everyone - have those scenes lock once you've initiated one already.... idk. It seems the more I see of this game, the more linear it gets.

EDIT: And if you turn down anyone down, you instead get the "bro" scene which would be differnt from the "romance scene rather than giving everyone all the same scenes.

And the Vega "hum."  -  I noticed that yesterday watching my bf play.... I seem to be picking up a lot more now. I turned to him and was all "Hums, huh? That's the 2nd time I herad him say that to you. Is he going to get indoctrinated?" Though it could have been the same dialogue that didn't change because no progress had been made, just some hub missions, etc.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought that.

That line never really went anywhere in ME3, though. But then again I wouldn't know, I never used James after the Mars mission.

I, personally, am a firm believer in the indoctrination/hallucination theory, due to a mix of evidence supporting it, the fact nothing else about the ending really makes sense without the theory, and because I need some sliver of hope to hold on to.

Random sidenote, does anyone know if the Dragon Age Uploader trick for custom avatars still works? I want to change mine to my Shep's ME3 look.

Hey guys, I've seen people say that Kaidan has a line somewhere that implies the night he brings you that liquor so you can drink together isn't the first time you've, erm, gotten intimate with each other, but I don't remember ever getting it - can anyone tell me what it was, just in case I never get it?

I think you're talking about this one

Ah thank you so much :D I never got this line at all. Kaidan sure isn't shy about this, I kinda love it a lot.

My favorite combination of powers in the game: Liara's singularity, Kaidan's Cyro Blast, and my soldier Shep's Biotic Slam (the only biotic move I can learn, not that I'm complaining because I freakin' love it!) all in one move. I can now say I know what it's like to have frozen husk snowing down on me.

PopDisaster wrote...

So I'm watching my bf play and he just had the "date" with Kaidan. In his game, Liara is his love interest... so I thought it would be cool to see it with a guy, especially since he plays renegade! But a lot of the dialogue is the same and it plays that romance music... it was really strange and awkward, actually. I would think that if you weren't on the romance path with him or already chose someone else, it would have been different. I get that they made him an option for both male/female, which I have no problem with whatsoever, but... it just seems like they should have done something to change it depending on the choices up to that point (like LI choice and how you've treated that character.)

I got that feeling playing Liara's equivalent Citadel discussion, the romance music was playing and the dialogue and tone were very personal. Luckily, I had just committed to Kaidan's rekindling a moment prior, which I think detered any of Liara's ninjamancing attempts.

Is it me or, when shep is on mars, talking to Liara about what's at stake, shep looks at Kaidan [ in a faithful playthough]  .. does Liara seam Jealous?

Just listening to the ME3 soundtrack, Why does Clint Mansell get the main credit? From the credits he only composed 2 out of the 25 tracks.  Also does anyone know which number the 'date' music is?

Edit: TOP, old demo pic :P

Is it number 21 on the soundtrack? "I Was Lost Without You?"

Ahh yes it is  thank you. I think it extends into the music of the cabin scene as well.

Also track 6 'A future for the krogan' sounds like something out of Doctor Who haha

Well, I think I'm officially an indoctrination theory convert. If Bioware dismisses it, then I officially have my headcannon (even though I have been a hater of the term ever since this ending fiasco started).

I actually really enjoyed LA Noire. You should at least give it a shot.
And I didn't know you get get above 100% readiness, I played all day once and it never went above it.

The idea of it intrigues me and I love detective stories anyway.  Thanks for your recommendation.  OT though <sorry guys>.

Yes, at least I thought so too.  Like she's irritated they're back working together.

Its worth at least 1 playthrough. I thought it was an interesting idea. However, the main character is kind of a d*ck.

Am I reading that correctly in that it is implying that wasn't actually the ending? If so, I want to go hug someone right now and jump for joy
Or is it just saying that there can't be any happy endings?

Speaking of endings, does the end choice remind anyone else of The Matrix just a tad? You can choose the Blue Lever or the Red one, choosing the blue (going with the indoctrination theory) takes you deeper into your imagination to the point where you can't escape (fully indoctrinated) while the Red essentially wakes you up and brings you back to the real world. Just thinking to myself, I suppose, because I'd really like to see just how deep the rabbit hole really goes.

Also, does anyone else feel that the ending sort of simulates Plato's Similie of the Line?
I think I've been listening to my LotR professor too much :?

No! That's really interesting.  I also didn't notice that apparently there's some kind of growling sound when you first encounter the child on earth (in the ducts I think).

Ah, the analogy of the divided line *pulls out pipe and smoking robe*

Oh god, its been years since I had to read the Republic. I was always a symposium girl myself, Aristophanes youre my bro. But yea the endings did feel like the matrix, and even more so it felt like Deus Ex's HR endings. Pick 1 of 4 option and your character will monologue on why he chose it. except, why he says he did it, wasnt the reason I did it.

Oh bioware...

I have to be honest, I don't like the indoctrination theory at all. It's not that it's bad (in fact, had it been written into the game, it would have been kickass), but I don't think it was implied and that we're all just so desperate we're grasping at straws trying to make sense of anything. The endings were so bad, we're stating to REALLY dig into every little line/action to possibly give credence to something we want to make sense. I really don't think this is what BW was going for. Not to try and bring you all down or anything, I'm just not buying into it.

And since the community keeps trying to make it plausible, and it has become our kind of community idea, I'd hate it even more if BW came forward and was all "That's what we were doing all along. It's indoctrination! Everything you guys were saying is correct."
