Maybe. I just expected it to happen on SDCC, honestly; and with my choleric temper it gave rather predictable reaction. Will try to keep myself under control[smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/joyful.png[/smilie]

All of us were expecting to see some Kaidan as well as some femShep trailer. Disappointing indeed, but let's just hope for the better.

We can only hope something Kaidan gets released at Gamescom/PAX. Would love to see him in the trailer, but if its just screens I would be very happy too! We need to keep tweeting devs to include Kaidan in the next batch of screens/trailers

TZ was it you awhile back who suggested that Darren Criss reminded you of Kaidan?  Ever since then, I've thought it would be cool to see him play Kaidan at BAaT. Even better if Kaidan broke into song now and then. LOL ../../../images/forum/emoticons/wizard.png  Hm...I wonder if Kaidan sings in the shower...

LOL!  Yeah, I had heard of Darren Criss due to A Very Potter Musical, but it wasn't until he was on Glee with the slicked back hair that I made the Kaidan-esque connection.  I know he's too young for the ME movie (unless they just don't care about being faithful to the ages of characters, which is entirely possible), but it's fun to play the fantasy casting game.

And the singing thing makes me wonder if Raphael Sbarge has ever sung on film/tv.  It is something worth investigating...

I forgot how much of a pick-me-up this thread is when you're feeling down or just trying to brave the scary forums that lie beyond the Kaidan thread. Thanks for being awesome guys (also for all the beautiful/cute fanart). *returns to occasional lurking*

And the site's called " Sarcastic Gamer" so I have my doubts this is legit. :?

The article is a fake or at least complete BS. javierabegazo even edited his post to say it probably is too. Look at the rest of the site and it starts to become clear. Though I would like to believe Shepard and Kaidan end up with rugrats, its not something I want to see in the game. ME is Shepard's story about destroying the Reapers. Things like marriage, children, and the white white picket space fence is something I want to fill in on my own.

The marriage idea is not something I'd dislike, provided it won't end up cheesy and make me uncomfortable to watch.

If there'd be a marriage scenario, I'm thinking something akin to that POTC scene with Liz and Will.

The conflict of the story is about destroying Reapers, yes, but a large part of why the romances are included in the first place is because Shepard's story is a very personal story--Shepard's personal stakes, why he or she would want to save the galaxy, is an intensely interesting aspect of the narrative. Choosing why Shepard wants to save the world is just as interesting as choosing how.

So yes, I would like to see "marriage, children and the white picket fence" addressed in ME3, even if they aren't carried through. Especially with a character as monogamous and devote as Kaidan, I'd love to hear some sort of dialogue options along the lines of Liara's "lots of little blue children" choice. Yes, I believe that those sort of dialogue options should be completely optional and not a requirement for your romance, but I don't think that they should be omitted from the game entirely just because some people would rather "fill it in" on their own. I think that a lot of femSheps would love to discuss "the future" with Kaidan, and (more importantly) I think that it's something that Kaidan would want to bring up to femShep, regardless of what her answer would be.

Of course, it could be that you're all for the discussion of children with your love-interest but not the actual implementation of pregancy in ME3... and I'm of mixed opinions on that. On the one hand, no, the game doesn't need pregnancy... but on the other, if femShep and Kaidan discuss children and the game wants to end with pregnant femShep, I say, eh, why not...? It wouldn't bother me... It could actually be a rather moving image to end on...

On the gender flip, do you ride Thane until he turns a new shade of green

EDIT: and no, no matter how tempting "a lot of biotic children" may be, I don't want to see my femSheps pregnant anywhere near Reapers invasion and major rebuilding after that. Discussing the possibility of said children is another story:wub:

Don't get me wrong. I want children for Kaidan and my Shepard, but that is my own selfish personal desire. I don't want to impose my selfishness on other people's game and demand the devs to add something to the game that doesn't fit. There are a lot of people who don't see their Shepards as maternal type. They might love Kaidan but not want the domestic life. I'm sure if Bioware does something like this there will be a choice of telling Kaidan yes or no but would telling Kaidan no lead to a breakup? It would be unfair if your Shepard was forced into a future they didn't want.

As for story wise, how could domestic bliss fit into their lives? Kaidan just became a Spectre and though I'm sure Shepard might want to take a long vocation after destroying the Reapers I can't see her giving up her career to stay home with the kids while daddy is out saving the galaxy. Though Kaidan would be an outstanding father I don't see him staying home either. Marriage and kids for them is something I see in the semi distant future, 5 plus years maybe.

Yes Shepard's LI (in this case Kaidan) is very important to the story and I see him as the main supporting character to my Shepard. Though a hint of things to come would be nice. Simliar to Anders "our children" comment at the end of DA2 or Liara's "blue children." But it is something that should be handed with care and not take up to much time. I would be happy as can be if after the "Grats Shepard you saved us all" thing Shepard steps off to the side to find Kaidan waiting for her and we get a "Ready to go Shepard?" Something vague enough that we can add in what we want.

@meonlyred I think we're more or less in agreement, except that I feel like the discussion of children could "fit" into the game very well if the Bioware writers wanted to address the issue in any sort of depth. I'm in favour of any sort of look at Shepard's future with his or her love-interest, be it something as casual as Liara and Anders' one-liners about children, or a more close examination. I would encourage the Bioware writers to add those kinds of options (again, optional, so career-focused ladies and gents can stay career-focused) because I know that a lot of people like myself would enjoy them, but I'm not "demanding" it.

And while it may seem selfish to some to want the option to discuss the future with my love-interest, isn't it just as selfish for people to ask that those options be omitted from the game just so their Shepard can stay focused on his/her career?

I wouldn't want Bioware to include something that doesn't "fit" into the game just because it's what fans want... but like Talimance, Garrusmance, Jokermance and same-sex romance options, I think that the issue of "children" is something that definitely could fit into the story, and that the Bioware writers would handle it very well, especially with a character like Kaidan.
