Think I might give it a week or so though, but damn, Kaidan makes me want to start ANOTHER playthrough...

So anyone else let Kaidan kill Udina instead? I was very much tempted to kill Udina, but because of Kaidan I didn't shoot Udina, then kaidan kills Udina and undoubtedly becomes my favorite character ever.
this.
finally Udina got his ass kicked
Thank you Kaidan, I love you even more now!

I really wish there was more mention of the relationship amongst the other characters. The only people who actually seemed to acknowledge anything were Javik, Joker, and Liara. I could see Vega making a joke or reference to it, as well as Garrus, or maybe a motherly talk from Chakwas similar to Wynne's chat (although maybe a little less morbid...).
I wonder if Anderson knew? He was really close to both of them, and spent a lot of time with them both together and apart.

After everything Shepard has done though, I think the Alliance Brass can cut them a break and let Kaidan and Shepard be together. They owe her WAY more than that.

Surely they had to've known. Nothing like that stays quiet on a military ship. I think out of all of them, Anderson would be the most understanding, too. I always imagined he and Dr. Chakwas were familiar.
According to Kaidan everyone knows about the ME2 LI if you cheated on him (Kaidan). So, yeah.
I was sorta disappointed too that no one acknowledged you relationship.

And they're both Spectres now. Not sure how that might help against fraternization rules, but it's gotta count for something, right?
On the topic of Spectres, what was the significance of Kaidan becoming one? It wasn't ever referenced once he joined the crew again, and didn't seem to make much difference at all throughout the game.

A DLC that involves nothing but Kaidan running in front of you and shooting/throwing things? I'll be in my bunk.

but I think the only reason for this was to serve one purpose in the plot: so that Kaidan could have a reason to defend the council so that the standoff could happen. But after that, it's not referenced again. :[ It's sad, because the status itself is just cool. It was one of the first spoilers from the VS, I think, back when the game was first putting out promo.

There could be some truth to it being down as a beacon of hope in dark times (suits Kaidan well) though sadly it's probably more likely Udina just wanted a personal bodyguard to use as he tries to go about his evil plans. Neither particularly flaterring to Kaidan though he deserves it and more, like medals.
Also dissappointed with the lack of Chakwas and Anderson bringing it up in anyway, practicularly Chakwas with the butchered into Oblivion drinking scene

There is a throwaway line about him doing expense reports, and being distracted. It's a reference at least.

Hm, that reminds me, anyone else remember the rough draft leaked script?
From what I recall, it had Kaidan and some mysterious new partner of his working together on something on Mars. After Kaidan was injured and taken to the Citadel, you had to go on a mission with his partner to Eden Prime, where something came up and you were forced to kill the partner.
Kaidan gets news of this from Kai Leng, who then uses it to turn him against Shepard. Then there was a mission (to Thessia, I believe) where you had to try to get the Prothean (Javik, presumably, but in a stasis state) before Cerberus could. But when you got there, you see Kai Leng already waiting for you, with Kaidan at his side. Kaidan confronts you about killing his partner, and whose side you're actually on. Then you either had to kill him or persuade him, and then there was a boss battle with Leng. Afterwards, Shepard got seriously injured, and the building they were in began to collapse. Then you had to choose between saving Liara and saving Kaidan, because you didn't have the strength to get to both of them.
Just reminiscing. Man, a lot of that script sure changed. Makes it sort of funny how everyone was panicking when it was leaked.

About missing Kaidan: are you sure he's gone? Because I found him practically everywhere on the crew deck. I didn't know that they have a tendency to wander the ship, and that I could use the map on the Normandy.
There is

It should allow them to ignore the fraternization rules, as a Spectre (and nearly equal in Alliance rank to Shepard) he could legally ignore an order, and Shepard and offer him very little promotion wise to hold over him, if any, think it's said someone much higher, different tier would be needed to promote Kaidan then shepard now any further.

Isn't Major a rank up from Commander in the Alliance? I was under the impression that Kaidan outranked Shep.
Drinking scene with Chakwas?

Fleet Admiral
Commandant of the CG
Vice Admiral
Rear Admiral (upper half)
Rear Admiral (lower half)
Captain
Commander
Which gives Shep a rank of O-5
For the army:
General of the Army
General
Lieutenant General
Major General
Brigadier General
Colonel
Lieutenant Colonel
Major
Which gives Alenko a rank of O-4.
Shepard is pashing on someone that is technically one rank below her.
Then again, if we're going off of the ranks from two different branches and not just combining the two for ranks inside the space fleet...pretty sure they're under different commands and thereby allowed to romance.
