Just finished the game yesterday. Took my good old time. Had a Total Military Strength of 7125, Readiness Rating of 91%, and an EMS of 6483. Got the "best" possible ending with all the little extras, but OH MY GOSH. I'm just....I'm just....exhausted??? I don't know what to think and I had even read and saw many spoilers. Tried to prepare as best I could and it still seemed crushing to me.

I think what this game so different for me than say a book or a movie that I didn't necessarily appreciate or like the ending to is that ME is MY story. I put myself in femsheps place and to watch everything and go through the motions and not have some sort of finality it is just an awful gut wrenching feeling.

Boo Bioware. I sincerely hope this is some major trolling effort, or just a half baked plan to get the game done like madlily has said, cause otherwise.....I can't ever again play the games from start to finish.

And another thing Bioware - for those are so upset like myself who the heck do you think will play your MP, or even the campaign again???? Wonder if they thought of that?

But, on a happy note....the Kaidan scenes are what kept my trudging along. Kept waiting for my next convo with Kaidan. Thought I was gonna die when he grabbed my femshep for that "so long" kiss right before the last mission to push through to the beam. Just melt worthy. Kaidan's romance is the hotness!! :)

We appreciate everyone’s feedback about Mass Effect 3 and want you to know that we are listening. Active discussions about the ending are more than welcome here, and the team will be reviewing it for feedback and responding when we can. Please note, we want to give people time to experience the game so while we can’t get into specifics right now, we will be able to address some of your questions once more people have had time to complete the game. In the meantime, we’d like to ask that you keep the non-spoiler areas of our forums and our social media channels spoiler free.

We understand there is a lot of debate on the Mass Effect 3 ending and we will be more than happy to engage in healthy discussions once more people get to experience the game. We are listening to all of your feedback.

In the meantime, let's give appreciation to Commander Shepard. Whether you loved the ME3 ending or didn't or you just have a lot of questions, he/she has given many of us some of the best adventures we have had while playing games. What was your favorite moment?

Yes! yes yes and yes. it's moments like this that remind me it's not all bad.

After finishing, I started feeling like there was no point bothering with my other sheps. Why should I bother? none of the choices I make affect the ending hardly at all - but I guess it's the journey not the destination or other such stuff. With ME2, when I finished and felt so freaking awesome I went back and started ME1 again within minutes, but this time I'm just deflated and fed up... until people post clips like this :)

Seems to be he's pulling the whole journey crap again. What's the point of all those good 'adventures' if the last 'adventure' ends so poorly.

Me too. I start my second playthrough, because Kaidans romance is it worth <3
I'll stop before the final battle begins and the other part is headcanon.

Hey everyone. Just finished the game last night.
On topic: The Kaidan romace was AWESOME! I absolutely melted at the "Next time, wake me" and "I love you" lines. GUH. Posted Image
Off topic: I'm having a hard time wrapping my head aroung the ending. Also, my EMS bar was at maximum and I'm still missing the last part of the "best" ending. I don't have XBOX Live Gold so I can't play multiplayer... Looks like they lied when they said it wouldn't be required to get the best possible outcome. Posted Image

Same here, and it all ends with a nice beach party, fist-bumping, drunken dancing and armwrestling. And cuddling for any couples around, because if I have to make up my own ending to feel sane about all this, I may as well go all the way since no one can complain over "happy endings" when it's all in my head. :bandit:

While looking on James' textures, I noticed that apart from lashes mesh, there are tiny lashes drawn around his eyelids. So instead of crippling Kaidan's model with attaching random mesh with bad weighting, I decided to try and draw similar thing on his diffuses, and this is the result (don't pay attention to uneven shadows on lids):

It adds a subtle shading around his eyelids edges and he IMO doesn't look so weird anymore... Thoughts?

I'd drop Liara in a heartbeat - she's too much like a really annoying little sister that keeps trailing after you!

Yeah, no-one appreciates Shepard like us - we've lived the bloody character for 5 years!  WE'RE not the ones that disregarded that journey and shafted the fans with a space magic ending!

I need an exploding with anger smiley.....

Diehard Kaidan romancer and sometimes lurker here!

As usual, the ficlet muse started prodding me during the romance - I loved most of it but had a little trouble moving from Mars Kaidan who couldn't buy Shepard's story to Citadel Kaidan who wanted to make things work.  So a little bridge piece came into existence.  I don't really like dropping my work off outright, but there's not a spot yet for fanwork and you guys are the ones who might be interested, so here, if you are!

And just so this isn't only shameful self-promotion, a little Shepard/Kaidan love.  <3

My favorite BioWare romance yet.

I mean, for cheating to occur , you'd have to be in a relationship to begin with. As far as I'm concerned, Kaidan made it pretty clear on Horizon that there wasn't any or that he wasn't even sure he wanted one.

We were on a BREAK!

Sorry I couldn't pass that up.

That was fantastic. Kaidan's character was spot-on, and it's great to see a ficlet from his perspective. I really enjoyed that, thanks for sharing!

Well, to be fair, Ashley freaks out. Like, bad. Kaidan's always been the level-headed one, and Ashley has always been the "speak first, think later" type, so the difference in "cheating" reactions makes sense to me. Also, he never accuses her of "cheating on him," per se - he asks if the rumors about her being involved with *insert option here* were true. I took it as him wondering if he effed up so bad on Horizon that she moved on. He says that he "owns the fact" that he acted like a dbag on Horizon.

Ashley, on the other hand, flipped out when she found out about my hubby's BroShep getting involved with Miranda. She's all, "SO WHO IS MIRANDA LAWSON? YOU KNOW, I DON'T HAVE PERFECT GENES, SORRY. I DON'T PARADE AROUND IN A SWIMSUIT ALL PERFECT," and Shepard finally tells her to knock it off - she ended it, and he wasn't waiting.

I don't think Kaidan's reaction warranted getting a verbal smackdown, because he wasn't at all accusatory. If he'd pulled an Ashley and was all, "I'M SORRY I CAN'T HAVE SUPER COOL HALLUCINOGENIC BODY FLUIDS WHILE WE DO THE FREAKNASTY," then I would have wanted an option to kick his biotic ass to the curb.

This.  I thought it was cool how they had different reactions.  They're different people.  Woulda been weird otherwise.

I have a few possibilities, more choices then Bioware give us anyway. Amoung my favs.

alt. Ending (for laughs) Would actually be Liara is
the Catalyst (not the Starchild though), She's loaded into the
Crucible and shot out in a Blue beam of light (similar to what chases
the normandy but in the gap Liara is there looking forward with a stern
expression) blasting into the reapers utterly obilerating them. Plot
Armor FTW.

After being blast, fade to black then a scene of Kaidan looking though a window of a small Padded room, crying, as Manshep is in the corner in a straightjacket, randomly spouting stuff about "reapers" and "crucible" (could also lead to him over coming the Great trial and breaking free).

Something happens, Kaidan and Shep are on a poarch in canada, drinking beers and happy in a well deserved retirement (still more detailed and a better end then whats there).

Though I think I'm just grasping at emergeny induction ports.
Theres signs they have something up thier selves, but they still sold a less complete game if true without the promised end to all things. Though that something could just be making history from the reaction to the reality of it all. But I'm in a nilialistic mood and just thinking out loud to myself mostly.

Thanks guys. :-) More ME3 stuff from me will have to wait for the muse to think something up. Overall, I was pretty satisfied with what they gave me in-game except for that one scene. But then again, the muse is still working slowly through ME1, so I guess we'll see. Whatever comes next from the devs will make a big difference, I think. I'm not unhappy with my ending (green, as long as I can pretend that Shepard was recreated and set in the Normandy with everyone else) but I am curious to see where they'll take it.

I just can't let Kaidan be without Shepard, not after losing her the first time. I think she'd be okay eventually without him, but I just can't do him without her.

Was going to comment on the cheating issue and Horizon stuff but I cant even be bothered/

Replaying again, Just visited Kaidan in the hospital, my only gripe is the graphics are rubbish on him in that scene compared the romance scene. So wierd.
