OK, Important points about the App that got everyone in an uproar;
1; It was NOT made by Bioware, and therefore is NO WAY any statement from them about the ending of the game. In fairness this wasn't clear initially since the app was being advertised through Bioware.
2; The 'notes' were written SIX MONTHS before the game was released and in NO WAY indicate that the development team did not consider alternate endings after this point. It is quite possible that they realised that the ending left a lot to be desired, but the release date simply did not allow them time to make any changes before the game was shipped out.
2a; The App is copyrighted and CAN NOT be duplicated without permission in any shape or form.
3; It does NOT in any shape or form indicate that BW is either unwilling or unable to change the ending via DLC. It therefore changes NOTHING and never did.
Please keep things civil and mature (well, ok, fairly mature....).
Keep holding the line!

Nothing about no DLC. The Final Hours app just basically proved that they had no intention at the time of adding more conent.
Speculation is fun, apparently. Who needs closure?

They killed my favorite series so bad that I can't even play it anymore. I don't know who this company is anymore. I could overlook the autodialogue, the focus on multiplayer, the Day 1 DLC, the lack of conversations, the face import problem, the marketing speech, the transition to shooter with RPG elements. I could overlook all of that, but then they scribbled down an ending on a piece of notebook paper and just phoned in the most important moment of the series.
My sentiments exactly. I was so excited about ME3 that I even managed to convince my boyfriend to buy it (after Dragon Age 2 he said he was done with Bioware). Now I am the one eating my words and having to apologize because I was wrong. I really believed this would be a better game, and at first I was really enjoying it. But after so many missions of just holding back enemies in order to save something/one that you never even get to see (ie. "quests" that are just like playing multiplayer) I have lost total interest. And now knowing what I can expect from the ending I have zero motivation to finish it, let alone play it again with one of my other imports.
I'm so bummed, but at least the Kaiden romance was better...not great, but better.
Mine too..... I'm holding out hope Bioware will fix this...but I'm loosing hope as each day passes...

I understand the anger toward them. First DA2 was a let down (it wasn't as bad as people made it out imo, just seemed very rushed) then the Deception fiasco and now this! Of course that's going to incite some anger. People have put hours and hours of dedication into the series and for them to just end it? Like that? Really?
Yes I understand all of that. It makes us all very, very wary of bioware but that doesn't mean people have to act the way they are. You're pissed! Good! It was something important enough in your life to cause such emotions but the way people are attacking and being outward jerks does not help anyones case. Everyone can scream and shout, it's not a hard skill to acquire. And when everyone is doing so, a mob mentality is forming. And you know what happens with mob mentalities? Very very stupid crap. Chris made the correct move in closing the forum for a bit. Cool off some heads. Cause people to take a breath.
We are just living up to the stereotype the media labels us with, whining entitled gamer nerds. We were doing good with the hold the line thing, the charity, etc but it only takes a few people to ruin it all. You're angry? GOOD. Channel that somewhere productive. Be it to write out what you were mad about, or starting a charity! You're entitled to your opinion, you have the right to complain, to whine, to get really really mad but that doesn't mean you have the right to be a jerk. (not you exactly yoshi, as in people in general)
The internet is a funny medium when it comes to opinions and it saddens me everyday with the way people act on it.
I completely agree... it only take a few bad apples... (stupid bad apples) ((and i mean the real flamers...not yoshi ;
I'm hoping they don't ruin the movement.... or whatever this is....it better work.

:jaw drops: wait...wait a minute! BroShep gets to tell Ashley off?!! Oh c'mon! HOW COME WE DON'T GET SUCH A DRAMATIC SCENE?! I've pretty much resigned myself about the apology part but I was pretty PO'd that he expected us to be faithful (which I was in 3 playthroughs) when he was pretty steamed and wishy washy about being together. I mean I get his was upset but his letter could have been more expansive about his feelings. As Ross says "WE WERE ON A BREAK!!!" lol Does anyone have a link to this Ashley scene?
Well he did comment on "the view" at Chora's Den in ME1. And I loved the, "What, you don't think they're here for the food?" line. Also, I took that Ardat-Yakshi line as if they'd all be throwing themselves at Kaidan, because, c'mon, who wouldn't? And I got it on my playthrough with my Garrusmance. I thought he said that creepy stuff about EDI was just cuz my Shep didn't get back together with him. Oh well...LolaLei wrote...
What was everyones reactions to Kaidan talking about EDI scaring the **** out of him when he saw her in her new robo body closely followed by "she looks good though" and his reaction to the Ardat-Yakshi where he says he that he would have been a goner if he had met one. I was like "Oi, you're supposed to only have eyes for Shep!" - Then I remembered that femshep pretty much flirts with Vega all the way through the game lol.
I'm gonna go do this. Because I really did *love* the game right up until London. I mean, really the final battle was just waves and waves of reaper husks. And come to think of it, I never actually killed Kai Leng, just the waves and waves of Cerberus baddies he sent at me. Totally changing up my tactics for that fight next time.sanmar wrote...

I would have coped with an ending where Shep died - perhaps her Prothean cypher was needed to finish the catalyst, draining her of her last breath, or perhaps her cybernetics were needed - what if Illusive brought her back because he knew she was needed to control (or choose to destroy) the Reapers. The problems I have are mostly centered around the kid - this unexplained glowing thing that came from nowhere, the Normandy flying off into who knows where with a LI who should have been on the streets of London likely injured from Harbinger... The ending does not fit the series.
I can deal with the glowing starchild thing. The kid who died was plaguing Shep with guilt throughout the game. The catalyst just took a pervasive theme that occupied Shep's thoughts and used it to take a form Shepard would understand. Or at least not be repulsed by. (Indoctrination theory, anyone?)
If it was all a dream and this is just an open ended way to lead into more DLC, then that's not a surprise either. I'm still mad at Bioware but coming down from it a bit., Actually replaying the game now and I still enjoy it. It's a beautifully made game--- series... story. There's not nearly the amount of freedom and charcter-moments that I love in ME1, but enjoyable nonetheless. The gameplay is fluid, the score is gorgeous, the voice acting is top-notch (even from Mark Meer). Overall, I admire what they did.
Bioware clearly just lost their heads for a moment. I'm starting to feel bad for them. It's just tunnel vision and working on the same damn project for the majority of a decade mixed with a little cabin fever. Its enough to drive anyone crazy. They kept their heads until almost the very end and sort of cracked. All the backlash is the worst way to wake up from that.
That's why petitions are good. Even Jahn's youtube review are good, because he presents his case in a clear cogent way-- the reasons the endings were a letdown-- not a flamewar.
Which reminds me-- I'm so glad I can come here and see that not everplace in the internet is a scuzzpit.
I can be this positive now after half a pint of ice cream during an unexpectedly sunny day, and editing the game's coalesed to make the planet scanning faster-- and editing the war asset values so the multiplayer handicap doesn't slash my EMS.
A little booze would help too, but let's not go too crazy on a weekday.

I'm surprised how much actually does go into it, our decisions in ME2 at lest do have some impact, but not when it comes to the ending of the game. I love but also hate (I only have one renegade playthrough) that rewriting the Heretics turns out to be a negative.
I'm sitting here listening to 'I Was Lost Without You' I feel like the piece should be called 'I Was Lost Without You And Still am' I love it, but it has a happy/sad feeling to it. My Shep just wants a proper goodbye.
I hate the choices but I would have totally accepted it if your LI could have accompanied you at the end. (Something I was originally hoping for, when Shepard was on the comm to Hackett, I was expecting one of your squadmates to come up behind you and help) It would have been perfect. My Shepard saying goodbye to Kaidan, then could have done a dramatic fall backwards. And that's just for the synthesis ending.

Its pretty much like editing the coalesced file for ME2, but with a different program. All the setup is mostly the same. I use the ME3 Coalesced Utility by Monochrome Wench Version 1.2 which is the more user friendly one, I've heard.
http://masseffect.wi...(Mass_Effect_3)
I recommend you backup your coalesced file before trying it. I have several backups but modifying the planet scanning does work. I made the cursor move faster, as well as the speed the planet spins. It takes me less then 3 seconds to find a war asset. Sometimes the planet and scanner move so fast I almost miss the white dot. Much easier.
I don't know why they had to make it so slow and tedious. Or why EDI couldn't just tell you the coordinates and launch the probe herself. This is the next best thing.

I had the opposite reaction. I was shocked that rewriting the geth was pargaon in ME2. The heretic geth broke away from the main geth population because of misguided religious reasons ,which Legion respected-- and would continue to respect had their religiously guided actions put everyone and the nature of free-will at risk. Its dangerous to apply this to a real life analogy, but I'll do so for the heck of it : If a church broke away from it's leaders and became a dangerous cult, you may have to fight them if they threatened you. Maybe kill them to protect yourself. But if reason didn't work would you"rewrite" a person to stop being (insert name of their religion)?
The paragon points for that in ME2 just baffle me.

I think that was more due to how the game mechanics are set up than anything else. I mean, destroying Maelon's data is apparently the paragon choice if my friend remembers correctly, and that comes back and bites you as well. The destroying - overwriting options are both morally grey and... wait, haven't we had these options somewhere else in ME3? Edit: Silly me, completely wrong.
