I believe you have to buy him the TM88 Peruvian whiskey, build up his trust, and then I think that the romance version of the date triggers for ManShep only if you talk to Kaidan before you commit to another romantic interest.

I don't think it matters.

You only need to have not committed to somebody else before meeting him for the dinner, and you'll get the date version.

"Kaidan's voice was just as soft, a husky whisper as he reached out and cradled her face in both hands, forcing her to open her eyes and look directly at him. His eyes caught hers, shadowed by the memories of too many good-byes. "I am never walking away from you again, not even if you order me to. Never."

Shepard couldn't help the hint of a smile, the relief bubbling up at his words, at his nearness. "I couldn't order you, now. You went and got yourself promoted, Staff Commander Alenko."

Kaidan's half-smile back almost broke her heart with delight. She felt them both moving slowly, edging backwards, their auras flickering together, the conflicting energies like a ghostly caress, a feeling no less tangible for all that it was happening in the air between them rather than on their skin.

"And you're still a Spectre, ma'am. You could order me to do almost anything, no questions asked."

"Almost, Alenko?" He'd backed them up far enough that she could feel the wall behind her, cool against her butt and shoulders even through her nightshirt.

He leaned over and whispered directly in her ear, the sensation of his breath sending a shiver down her spine. "Just try me, Shepard. Try and find something I won't do for you." His mouth descended the barest fraction, his lips finding the sensitive spot on her neck, just below her jawline. Her breath escaped with a whimper, and she lifted her head up and back to encourage him to continue.

"You should know, Alenko", she managed breathily, "the bedroom's back the way we came." She felt his chuckle vibrate against her throat, causing her hands to clench together behind his neck to help hold her up despite her knees' attempt to buckle.

"You found something I won't do already, Spectre." His hands, which had been gently teasing her breasts, slid down her sides, past her ribs, caressing the slight curve of her hips with his thumbs before sliding back and tightening his grip right where ass met thigh. With one pull, her legs were up off the ground and wrapped around his hips, their bodies slamming together as he pushed her back hard against the wall to brace them both. "We're not going to make it to the bedroom." "

Yes to the first, no to the second, at least not from any of the "paragon" options.  If no one knows I can experiment with it later.

I love listening to him too.  I didn't start out that way but his voice has really grown on me.

I think I recall reading that the second is when you let him down nicely during the date scene. Not certain on that, though, and I'm definitely not going to test that!

I just did the testing - yeah, that's his reply if you turn him down.  "Not the answer I wanted to hear, but okay." 

Most heartbreaking thing?  Turning Kaidan away from the Normandy. I did that to see what happens and... *sob*

I just saw most (not Liara's...saving that for my BroShep's pt) and I definitely think Kaidan has the hottest love scene. Not only that but our romance is fantastic. Someone look up Kaidan's writer on twitter and give her mucho love!

Ugh I hated her. Especially when she called me a bully. Like REALLY? I'm a full on Paragon trying to save the galaxy! Ungrateful bunch of--!  I wish the renegade option included a pimp smack lol

I did too but I was disappointed that it was only a line. I was hoping for a pimp smack lol. My femShep could get away with it. And YES! I did the same thing. I didn't even hesitate punching that admiral. Wasn't he like Tali's fathers Bestfriend?! I had her with me and I couldn't believe he'd do that.  Plus you don't do that to Shepard!

I was pissed, too. Who was she to lecture me that uplifting the Krogan was wrong and had repurcussions no one could have forseen, yet the salarians were planning on uplifting varren and yahg?

I never got those scenes either. Are you playing on Xbox? I started a second playthrough I'm really hoping it works this time. Did anyone else have a problem triggering these? Maybe it's an Xbox issue. Grr I hope it works this time. It's really jarring to know I'm missing stuff
EDIT: PS I'm pretty OCD about convos so I do rounds so playthroughs are perfect

I missed the first one too but I *think* it's because I didn't talk to him after the second hospital visit.  The one where he says "We're good together."  I kind of ran out afterwards squeeing but I think based on what I've seen you can talk to him again to get the usual "investigate" normal non-romantic dialogue circle.

The second one I got without hearing a notification from Sam.  I just made my usual OCD dialogue rounds and it came up after the Jacob mission.

I'm playing on PC, so I don't think it's a platform thing. Maybe it's just a bug then. Would be my first bug encountered in the game, apart from that strange invisible trap I seem to step into whenever I go talk to Joker in the cockpit...
Maybe it'll work on my second playthrough, 'cause I really hate missing out on any conversations Especially when they are related to Kaidan.



About the dalatress: I so wanted to punch her. Though I think she was a good contrast to Mordin's redemption arc, I give her that. Still, does anyone ever actually go along with her plan? I don't think I could ever do that. Maybe on my 'worst decisions ever' renegade playthrough, should I ever attempt one xD

Basically Aller's asks Shepard if Kaidan has had media training because he gave her a straight stare all through the interview. I took that as a subtle nod to the fact that both Ashley and Kaidan's eyes had a habit of doing weird wonky/cross eyes stares during conversations in the first and second game LOL.

I think it would have been a more obvious nod to it if Diane Aller's voice actress (Jessica Chobot) could actually act, her lacklustre performance meant a lot of her lines kinda missed the point.

About the Dalatrass' plans. Here's what happens if you go through with them.:crying::crying:You have to be some kind of monster or a super committed renegade to go through with this.

Here's the paragon version to get the bad taste out of your mouth.

Edit: It's amazing what a different impact the same line can have when said in two different ways.
Edit2: Though I've heard tales of a renegade intimidate option that avoids this scene,don't know what the requirements for it are though.

Me neither, like **** am I letting her stay on my ship... especially when it gets stranded, she can keep her filthy paws on my crew. There's no way Shepard is gonna let her reproduce with Kaidan! LOL

Have you guys seen the renegade scenes where you kill Mordin/sabotage the genophage and later kill Wrex, it's ****ing brutal! I could never bring myself to do it!

^I did that with my renegade shep. It was actually really well done. It made me feel like I've been punched in the gut after shooting Wrex

You can kill Wrex in ME3? Why would you do that!? (Both as in why would anyone want to he's such a cool guy and what situation arises that would make you want to do that?)
