Wow. If that wasn't the intention for the ending...the Bioware devs are probably kicking themselves right now that they left such an obvious potential ending unattended...

I personally think the kid is real in the beginning and then plagues Shepard's nightmare and the part of humanity that can't be saved. The devs and art book just say that the kid is just a representation of all the civilian lives young and old that Shepard couldn't save... I do think the reapers/catalyst take advantage of this and use the form to try to influence Shepard.  And that at least since Arrival Shepard has been on some level fighting indocrination, (I'm not sure about earlier because it was all pretty much Prothean artifacts etc Shepard interacted with prior...  Being knocked out gives the Reapers access to "work"... and the beam may have just taken Shepard's conciousness to the citadel etc.. ..kinda reverse of sovereign controling saren's corpse on the citadel... just my thoughts though  (and it's from what i've gathered from watching youtube clips and the vid... i'm bad and still haven't finished the game.)

Not just you, I got caught on the invisible cockpit of doom bug twice and had to reload (PC) - it's a freaky little error, reminds me of when I would run around sideways in ME2 while fighting and end up stuck on top of walls sometimes. Physics thing I suspect.

Wow, it's good to hear it's not just me getting stuck there.  Because between that spot by Joker, and the 2 salarians on the Presidium Commons whose mission it it to trap Shepard against a counter, I felt like there was a lot of reloading going on from being stuck...

Yes to the first, no to the second, at least not from any of the "paragon" options. If no one knows I can experiment with it later.

I love listening to him too. I didn't start out that way but his voice has really grown on me.

I think I recall reading that the second is when you let him down nicely during the date scene. Not certain on that, though, and I'm definitely not going to test that!

I just did the testing - yeah, that's his reply if you turn him down. "Not the answer I wanted to hear, but okay." {smilie}

Most heartbreaking thing? Turning Kaidan away from the Normandy. I did that to see what happens and... *sob*

I still think it's stupid to that we are shoehorned into one of these "artsy" endings in a game based around choice.

It took approximately ten minutes to decide that that ending didn't
happen and that Shepard, with her long tradition of talking people into
committing suicide and ending centuries-old conflicts, convinced the
starchild he was being a ****** (it shouldn't even be overly hard since
he was) and then the starchild destroys the reapers (possibly the
relays, too, since that appears to be the result of the catalyst
activating). The AIs are not destroyed, however, because from what I can
gather the AIs never actually had to be destroyed. The starchild
was just still convinced that only organics or synthetics (or a mixture
of both) could survive andn so if you picked organics he wanted to give
them their chance. Becuase he's stupid.

Also, what is he on
about with organic/synthetic creatures being the final stage of
evolution. How could something that is created and something that is
born combining it synthetic/organic hybrids possibly be
evolotuion? I just don't see it occuring naturally EVER and not even
being possible without the violating green beam of violation.

I'm still wondering when Kaidan mentioned about Rahna

I remember when Kaidan said that he was glad I didn't judge him for
Rahna breaking his heart and I was thinking "That's because I was too
busy judging Rahna for being shallow and clearly not half as worthwhile
as everyone seemed to think she was if she's really going to freak out
over someone saving her." But it was best not to tell him that.

Ending:  I know, right?  How can it be the pinnacle of evolution when it's not even possible with evolution?  And I never got why it was necessary to destroy all the AI's too.  I think it's because they all had Reaper tech by that point.

Rahna:  I was thinking that too. "You saved my life...I hate you!"

What I've never understood is how, in the synthesis ending, Shep can even have the DNA to change all races in the galaxy, he's only half machine, half human. So...how does that help the Asari, Krogan, Turians, etc?

His hands, which had been gently teasing her breasts, slid down her sides, past her ribs, caressing the slight curve of her hips with his thumbs before sliding back and tightening his grip right where ass met thigh. With one pull, her legs were up off the ground and wrapped around his hips, their bodies slamming together as he pushed her back hard against the wall to brace them both. "We're not going to make it to the bedroom." "

I'm trying it now - I posted some Kaidan texts on the previous page, but I haven't completed the playthrough yet. I'll update as I go along. You do get quite a few texts, and not just from squaddies, but also from characters like Aria. It's good.

I really don't like the indoctrination theory! Sorry guys. Im afraid BW will just run with this theory and make it a cop-out. But the worst fear is they might says that Shep was indoctrinated so early on that the romance with Kaidan never happened and the sweet things like
"I will fight like hell to hold you in my arms again" and "I can't lose you again" and the romance scene would be consideredall in my head. I might cry then! I needa better theory then indoctrination. Im sticking with beaches being mentioned so much that's what my Shep imagined for them when I thought I was dying but what really happened is i'm breathing and Kaidan is coming to find me!
