There's different types of heartbreaking: Resolved ones that leave you feeling depressed but melancholy at the same time (Mordin's death, Thane's death, etc), and the ending.

For me the heartbreaking and heartaching part are Mordin's death, Legion's death and Thane's death
the ending = WTF moment <_<

I'm just glad I fraps'd all my Kaidan interactions with my first play through. Now I can get all my Kaidan without having to fight my lack of motivation to play the game.

Shep's at her lowest, she's had a really bad mission, she's snapping at Joker, she's mad with everything... perhaps Kaidan's staying clear in case he gets in her way, but he could have at least popped up to her quarters briefly to check in on her. That was definitely a missing scene that I would have liked to see. Heck, I needed a hug after Thessia.

Yeah I thought it was kinda weird that she got the reassurance thing from Garrus instead of Kaidan there.

Yeah, I felt like that was a good time for a talk like after the Normandy was grounded. I don't know, sometimes I feel like they put so much effort into the first half and big parts of the second half feel like an after thought. Maybe it's just cause the first half is SO good.

Some of you asked me to compile the Datapad App messages from Kaidan. The ones I received are below. I’m not sure that’s all of them, the App acts up a bit, but here’s what I have.

After first hospital visit:
“Heard you came by while I was out. Thanks, Commander. I’m up, most of time, at least.”

After becoming a Spectre:
“I’ll try to do humanity proud as a Spectre. Know I’ve got a lot to live up to.”

After dinner date :
“Hey. I’m so happy. That’s all. How can the future be so unsure and so bright at the same time. Yours, Kaidan.”

After Cerberus Scientists mission (you get 2):
“Thanks again for the chat. Sometimes you gotta talk through things to figure them out, you know?”
And:
“One thing more about the Illusive Man – can’t help but be grateful he brought you back. Weird feeling. Life’s strange.”

If you talk to him and James playing poker:
“Glad you stopped by, Commander. Maybe next time we can deal you in, give Vega someone else to take money from.”

After Horizon:
“I can’t believe what I just saw – what Cerberus did. After everything we did trying to help those people on Horizon.”

When launching the Earth mission:
“Doubt any of us will be getting much sleep anytime soon. But I believe in you.”

Sadly, nothing on Earth itself, and nothing post-ending. The latter was expected, but I still held out hope.

There's one more message from Kaidan, a bit baffling, that says "Hey, Commander. Thought I might come down to see you today--if they let me. Here's hoping."
Apparently, you get a similar message from whoever your LI is, should it not be Kaidan. Not sure when that takes place, as I got it on the day I downloaded the app. It's dated the same day I started my new save, but it doesn't make much sense.

Odd, I never got that one. But as I said, not sure the App works 100% of the time. There were at least 2 hours of gameplay where I got nothing.

( I created this ending for Garrus and since a fan liked it so much i thought i would make a kaidan version. I tried my best to keep things in character and i may do a vega version for the vega fans. well i hope you all like it)

It was time for the final push, their last stance against the reapers. Every one stood and looked at the beam in front of them, they knew that this was it, they knew that if no one made it, there would be no more hope.

When the order was given, every shoilder ran towards that beam with determination, none of them faultered. Shepard, Kaidan, and James soon took the lead of the pack striving to achieve what they have wanted to since the beginning, to destroy the reapers and send their asses into hell. Seeing the small army begin to travel harbinger let out a machanic growl as it began to fire it's laser at them.

With the first laser, it took three Alliance shoilders right from beside Shepard, then the next took out a mako and four more men. It didn't seem llike any one was getting any where fast, no one was making ground. Then harbinger turned causing the ground to shake as it looked directacly at Shepard, letting out another growl before shooting once more.

The beam landed about ten feet in front of Shepard and it continued to move forward to her position, Kaidans eyes widen as his mouth gapped open. His heart began to race as every thing seem to be happening in slow motion, even the distance screams became nothing more then back ground noise.

His pace quickened as he tried to catch up to her, pushing shoilders and shooting canabals out of his way.

"SHEPARD MOVE!"

As he went for a biotic push James grabbed Kaidan's arm trying to pull him away from the blast, but it was too late. They were all in the cross fire as it sent them flying backwards knocking them both out cold.

Jame's eyes fluddered opened, he wasn't sure how much time has passed, but he knew he needed to get in contact with the Normandy. Slowly he began to stand, using his assault riffle for support. He clentched his jaw as pain began to shoot threw his body, feeling like it was litered with needles.

"Normandy come in.... we need... an extraction"

He said weekly as he took in his surroundings.

The line was staticy causing James to shake his head and pound his ear peice with the palm of his hand.

Looking at the piles of rubble around him, he began to wonder if every thing Shepard strived for was for nothing, if every thing they have tried to accomplish was for nothing.

Hearing a grown behind him, he looked over his shoulder cautiousily as he lifted his rifle. Taking a deep breath he turned, gun raised ready to shoot, but when he saw who it was, he put his rifle down and began to walk over to Kaidan.

"Normandy we need an extraction, come in..."

James looked up to the skies as he Offered his hand to the biotic, Kaidan just stared at it, his face was showing signs of giving up, disappointment, and to be honest he wanted to punch James into next week. If he would have just let him go then maybe he could have gotten to Shepard in time.

Waving James's hand away, he slowly got back up to his feet, looking around at all the destruction. He almost didn't want to look where he last saw Shepard, but he did non the less and when he did he became confused. There were multipal bodies of alliance shoilders, but Shepards body wasn't among them.

"Where's.... Shepard?"

He asked, agony playing at his voice.

The question made James look around, and he couldn't believe it him self. The beam hit her, he saw it but her body... was... shaking his head he began to wonder if it was even possible for Shepard to survive and continue forth.

"I... I don't know"

James then chuckled.

" Maybe Lola is a bit loco."

Kaidan couldn't help but laugh slightly as he looked back towards the beam, it gave him hope that maybe just maybe...

"Shore party *static* mandy, whats your position?"

Lifting up his finger, Kaidan pressed in his ear piece,

" We're by the conduit, seems calm... for now."

" ETA five minu...*STATIC* shepard al*static* ight?"

"I hope so..."

Following the beam up with his eyes, he exhauled, hoping to god that she made it.

As they waited, Kaidan and James searched the bodies that were laying arund them , looking for any signs of life, but the only thing they could offer was comfort, giving them hope that their families would be able to see tomorrow.

It was strange how ever, that harbingar retreated, taking it's puppets with him, but if it thought it killed every one then, what would be the point in staying around?

Hearing a faint whistle in the sky, both soilders looked up to see the Normandy coming in for a landing. They began to walk towards the ship until they begun to hear a funny "wong" sound from the beam behind them.

"Jeff, we must hurry, the conduit is over loading and the blast could become... proplomatic"

Joker looked at EDI strangly, his eyebrow raised as she sounded more like Mordin but then again maybe it was best that she spared them the details.

" Hey could you guys pick it up a bit? cause apparently we are now in a red zone of total destruction... like we weren't before but I am sure you get the jiff of it."

As the ramp lowered, James and Kaidan were ready to board the Normandy until the sky suddenly became brighter. Slowly, they began to turn around to see the beam palsating, they couldn't look away from it... It was hypnotyzing.

Joker tried to tell them to hurry their asses up but they were too distracted to pay any attention. Soon, the light extended outward like there was a giant explotion with out the noise, the chaos. Covering their eyes with their forearms, the light became to hard to bare causing them to close their eyes.

Soon after, the light just diminised, causing them to lower their arms as they tried to focus their eyes. The once clear path that laid before them was now full of rubble from the Citadel.

Kadian's heart sank, realizing the worst has happened. James looked at him sympathaticly as he tried to guide him up the ramp, putting a comforting hand on his shoulder but Kaidan shrugged it off.
The hope that Kaidan was once carrying was now lost...

Shepard laid in the debri unconscious, her breathing was none exsisting but suddenly her eyes shot opened as she began to gasp for air. She felt weak as she slowly took in her surroundings. Looking up she could see the moon, looking down on her, she... she was back on earth.

A small smile graced her face as she slowly began to sit up, but she then realized her arm was caught and her legs were trapped under a large piece of concrete. With her free hand, she tried to move the debri off of her but the pieces were to heavy and she was too weak.

Laying back down, she looked back up to the moon and she began to think on how she could get out of this mess.If she was back in london then maybe just maybe... closing her eyes memories of Kaidan began to flood her mind.

Sighing she let out a breath...

"Kaidan"

her voice was nothing more then a whisper as she slowly opened her eyes.Suddenly she began to hear static in her ear piece and the sound of Kaidan's voice...

Turning her head, Shepard began to wonder if he was close by. He had to be if she could hear him through the ear com.

Closing her eyes she gathered all her strenghth letting out a loud but weak yell hoping that he was in listening distance,

"Kaidan!"

The hatch was about to close down but Kaidan stopped in his tracks, 'did some one just say his name?' he wondered as he slowly turned around looking back up at the rubble.

"Did... did you hear that?"

James looked at him as he began to walk forawrd, his eyes searching.

" All I'm hearing is gun fire an..."

"I am detecting vital sighns within the rubble..."

EDI interrupted him,

She continued to explain but it seemed that was all Kaidan needed to hear as he continued to walk forward with determination.

"Shepard..."'

James just shook his head realizing how stubborn the biotic was, rolling his eyes he just continued his way to board the Normandy.

Joker began to warn Kaidan that they don't have much time but it seemed Kaidan's mind was already made up.

" Where's it coming from EDI?"

EDI gave him the location as Joker reminded him of the time st-rant. Any minute now the Alliance was going to come in and destroy every thing around them, even them if nessecary.

Walking up to the pile,Kaidan pulled out his omni tool to make sure he was in the right place and he could see her vitals, they were weak. Taking deep breaths, he let out a low grown as he began to lift the pieces of rubble off her and then pushing them, or throwing them to the side.

Soon his love became visable, her armor was none existing, her skin was covered in blood, seeing her like this broke his heart. Pressing his hand over her cheek he spoke softly...

"Don't worry Shepard, I'm going to get you out of here."

There was one last peice that was holding her down, keeping her from him, but no matter how hard he tried... he coudn't budge it enough to break her free. He was about to give up, ready to tell the normandy to just go, leave him.

He began to the lower the heavy steal, but suddenly the weight was lifed off his shoulders. Looking over, he saw James standing there, holding the other side.

"What? you thought that I was going to give you all the credit for saving commander Shepard?"

Kaidan rolled his eyes and smiled slightly as they both lifted it off of Shepard and moved it to the side allowing Kaidan to scoop her up in his arms.

"Trust me when I tell the story? it's gonna be all me."

James laughed as they began to walk back up to the ship,

"What ever you say Major"

Shepard's eyes slowly opened as she looked up to see Kaidan. A faint smile took over her lips as she lifted her hand, placing it on his cheek. The sudden graze startled him as he looked down upon her with a smile.

"I told you i was going to fight like hell to hold you again"

smiling, shepard began to laugh slightly

"told you, you we're stubborn"

With that said, her smile soon faded as she slipped back to unconciousness.

Joker looked over at EDI sitting beside him, he gave her a smile as she smiled back.

I got the same exact thing when I started my second pt. It seems like he wanted to visit you before you went to see the Alliance Council on Earth. I wouldnt have minded seeing him in my rooms...bolster my morale
