You know what I like about this romance scene...that Kaidan and Shep look so happy together. They're looking into eachothers eyes and  both of them are smiling when Kaidan carries her. It makes their affection for eachother seem very, very genuine. BW really did that scene well.

Can I just say that your fanfics are quite nice? They're subtle and they add quite a bit to what already exists into the game - really well done.

EDIT: Dropping letters like I drop 50s - that is to say I dropped a 50 once and picked it back up

Thanks! I'm glad you like them :)  It really means a lot to me to hear that people enjoy them.

I'm working on a post-ending fan-fic right now, but it's turned out to be harder than I thought it would be and it's not coming along that well for the moment...May publish it anyway, though.

I'm writing one aswell, changing the purpose of the Reapers to work with it, kinda hard but their reasoning was kinda lame. IMO anyway. Obviously it will be SHENKO. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/devil.png[/smilie]

Might upload a rough version see what people think and then edit. Would love to see yours, love your fics.

Please do, I would love to read it!  I can't get enough of Shenko <3

On my second playthrough it's taken me much longer for some reason, my time for mShep and Kaidan's date was 14 hours in my first. But on 18 hours atm and done less missions hmmm

I think I had the first conversation bug when you get him back. When he speaks about his family, is there a reason why I wouldn't have gotten this? Because he was standing in the right place with his head against the window. I just got a bunch of auto dialogue, I got it fine with my mShep.

I don't know about everyone else, but I play the game(s) to have fun and escape from some upsetting things in my RL.  The lack of a happy ending kind of spoils that!

@Commodore Q - we're all having the same problem, ie lack of motivation.

I gotta commend all of you who went back in for a second playthrough. So far I have tried three times to jump back in but knowing what lies at the end has completely killed all my interest with ME3.

Kaidan said it best: "It's gonna be what it is."   *shrugs*

...Wait, Kaidan has a convo with Shep about his family? When is this?

I have a horrible sneaking suspicion that Kaidan's conversations are borked in general. I'm about to hit Thessia, and I still haven't heard a peep from him about TIM, despite him hanging around in the crew quarters.

My motivation is to destroy the reapers, they tricked me in my first playthrough with the damn synthesis option. Plus I didn't have enough EMS for the 'best' ending, because Bioware lied and you have to play MP <_< Also the datapad is a bit of an incentive, really cool with the messages from people, though mine has stopped updating :crying:

It's straight after he joins the Normandy again, before the date on the citadel. Here

Huh. I've gone through twice, and all I've had was generic 'not right now' lines for that convo. Ah, the familiar buggy mess that is a Bioware game straight out of the box <3

Just a side note does anyone feel the game throws too many good things at you at once. After the citadel coup, you have like 4 scenes with folks in your cabin, you have a bunch of letters from people wanting to meet up on the citadel. It would have been nicer if things were just slightly paced a bit better.

I thought it was interesting how many wanted to avoid that blasted child too.  I disliked him from the start.  I have a post somewhere on here to prove it.

I wrote a post about this a few pages ago. My first playthrough was definitely borked. I didn't get 2 convos with Kaidan. First was about his mom and the other is about Cerberus after Jacob's quest. It finally triggered on my 2nd and my work around is making sure I followed the romance "flow". Waited for his email for the date. Also once you get him back go straight to him before talking to others. I tested that twice and it seems like it effs up if you talk to someone else first. I also SAVE before I talk to him just in case it doesn't trigger. AFTER getting his Mom's convo I go to Dr Chakwas to get the medigel quest and do that right away so I can get her drinking scene after a random side quest. THEN after the date do Jacob's quest then go straight to him for the Cerberus convo.  I'm on Xbox.btw I don't know what.bugs it but I used to save him last for convos and it didn't work. Now he's always gonna be first L

Aye that. First time I triggered it alright, reloaded the save... second time triggered fine too. Reloaded again and third time it bugged, I ended up just going with that save... since well technically I've seen that dialogue twice. Didn't bugged the romance at all if that's what you're concerned about. I've heard people not being able to trigger his post-Cerberus Lab (Jacob's mission) dialogue too, I guess the dialogue triggers are just buggy in general.

I mean really... who decides it's a bright idea to put in Zaeed-style dialogue... I like t just fine when he said "oh I'm busy we'll talk later" dilaogue after you exhaust the main ones ala ME1.

Makes sense, I think I spoke to EDI first, and Shepard asked her if Kaidan was ok with her. When I spoke to Kaidan he just spoke about EDI and a bunch of other auto dialogue afterwards.

Edit: Just reloaded a save and it worked, went straight to him and it triggered. Pitty I'd lose like 2 hours if I start from there again. Tempted though.

Yeah I'm not sure what is up with the convo's. My first playthrough I got the conversation about Kaidan's family, but not the one about TIM, however I'm now on my second playthrough (NG+ ) and I havn't got the family conversation but I did get the conversation about TIM in the crew quarters last night.

So I'm abit confused now, maybe they are abit bugged.

Those are exactly the same two convos I seem to never get in my game. Seems like they really are bugged, but I'll try it again on my NG+, this time following your advice, Dorko! I used to save his convos for after I already talked to everyone else because of , well, a strange kind of anticipation, or something? I don't even know! Save the best for last, I guess. Maybe that was my fault.

I also have to agree that I really would have loved DAO-style "kiss whenever you wanna kiss"-scenes, especially because in my headcanon, they were pretty much attached at the hips after their Citadel date anyway. I was a bit disappointed that I couldn't just invite him up to my cabin every now and then.
And I would have loved some kind of a consolation scene after Thessia, to be honest. As if I wasn't disappointed enough when Sebastian didn't show up after my mother's death in DA2!

WARNING INCOMING RANT [TL;DR = I dislike the ending because the Normandy crew are happy]

So I finished ME3 a few days ago *would have finished it sooner if I hadn't been stupid and decided uni work was more important, without realising that not knowing the ending was actually distracting me from uni work* and I gave myself a few days to work out what I really think is wrong with this game.

What's really wrong is the Normandy escaping. I don't mind the AI-kid, I've decided that the whole bit with the elevator is the Citadel speaking into Shep's mind and that kid is one of the last things she thinks of. *seems to me he sorta symbolises the fact that Earth can't really be saved, something along those lines* I don't mind the three choices you get - DA:O basically gave you three choices too, either make a God-baby, sacrifice yourself or sacrifice the other Warden. So that doesn't bug me.

What bugs me is that when everyone steps out of the Normandy, they're happy. Bioware are awesome at making you feel things - Thane and Mordin's deaths made me nearly cry, and the only reason I didn't really tear up at Legion's was because I was agonising about the Geth/Quarian decision for ages before and ended up spoiling myself to get both. Kaidan's romance was made of amazing, and you can really feel the love between the two in some scenes. And then they step out of the Normandy and they aren't sad about it, they're happy. "Yay Shepard is dead and we found a new planet which might not even have any kind of food whatsoever, "

And now I feel like no matter how much time I put into my beloved Aminthe Shepard, earthborn, who didn't even have a first name until she signed up to the Alliance and realised they'd want a first name so she chose the name of her favourite alcohol, who's so much more comfortable being called Shepard because of this, who managed to fight off the Thresher on Akuze and now has a pathological fear of them (that made Tuchanka fun :P), who didn't fall in love until Kaidan came along and she nearly had a breakdown about it because she's terrified she'll screw it up, who only realised that aliens weren't all bad when one turian ambassador got her out of the gangs and into the Alliance navy, now I feel like all the time I put into her and into this game is for nothing, and because of that I can't play her character anymore. I've tried. The only thing I can think of that slightly satisfies me is that I originally picked the Synthesis ending and my headcanon states that she managed to somehow get her conciousness transferred into Kaidan's mind so now she literally lives in his head or something.

Anyway, rant over. Now I can get back to squeeing over the Kaidan romance because that really was a romance and a half, I'm so glad I decided to go for him in ME1 becuase at the start he just seemed like the average dude and then he really grew on me and now I'm gonna have a hard time starting up any other character or any other romance because I've put so much time and effort into this game and that romance made it all worth it <3

To get back on our current topic, I think some of the convos are bugged, yeah. I managed to get the one about his family and the "Wake me" (which made me demand details from my Shepard because, excuse me, what exactly have you two been up to whilst I've not been paying attention? *pervy grin*) but I didn't get the one about EDI. There aren't enough convos anyway, but then you only got convos after main quests (and, it seems, after DLC events) in ME1. The convos we have are adorable, anyway

Yeah I feel like there's a line of demarcation when it comes to the convos. I mean don't get me wrong the game is amazing minus those Craptastic endings. It's like the first half we get all the goodies then somehow they lagged in the middle..maybe they just didn't have enough time? I'm at a loss about Thessia too, I seriously was hoping Kaidan would address it. The last half sometimes feel rushed. I mean the goodbyes were amazing....BUT did I mention the CRAPTASTIC ENDINGS? It's like they ripped my heart out and stomped on it..pointing and laughing the whole time. And lemme tell you I come from a family who believe that showing emotion is quite embarassing. So when I say I CRIED I literally felt like my BFF died.

On a different note, did I any of you bring Javik to Thessia, I want to if there's a special interaction with the VI bec otherwise I'll just bring Kaidan again since Liara is a required squadmate.

I definitely think our Romance is the best. I haven't seen Liara's yet so I don't know how that compares. I've seen everyone else's though. Our luvvv scene is superbly done lol.

Yeah I saw that a few days ago, and from what I believe any squadmember that you took to the final battle died. Which is crap, because people take their LI or favourite characters :/ Thankfully BioWare removed it, but it's not like it made the ending that much better. Just less grief I suppose.

So you either get that or they possibly SPACE-MAGIC themselves to the Normandy

Funny how I brought along Kaidan and Garrus to the last battle (same team I brought against Saren and also because they're my Shep's two closest teammate) and they are the TWO that are with Joker at the jungle planet...

Javik has an interesting dialogue if you bring him to Thessia on how the Protheans shaped Asari's history etc. And he basically confirms that Athamea (sp?) is a Prothean... although other teammates would have said that too... I brought Kaidan along for the first time, then restart the mission on Casual to speed run it with Javik. Well Kaidan (and I'm guessing other squadmates too) would mentioned that Athamea looks like a Prothean while Javik basically confirms it and have some extra dialogues regarding it but it's not really neccessary to have Javik there.

Watching youtube vids of Kaidan ect. Not being ungrateful or anything, but I hate how the most viewed videos of the romance scenes are posted by the same person, but they've blocked likes and comments, it's like what's the point in that..
