No I really loved the romance between Shep and Kaidan. It felt real!! The animation was perfect. Facial expressions were good. I LOVED the date scene. We got to see them spooning, which for me felt a lot more intimate than them lying on the bed fully clothed like they did in ME2. It was a pity there weren't more little inimate moments like that throughout the game for all the LI's, I think they missed some really good opportunities with that one.

Apparently if you turn down the offer of sex Shepard asks him to stay anyway and he just holds her until she falls asleep, which is very sweet.

Yeah I tried that out and they fall asleep on the couch, but then later when Shepard has her dream and wakes up they're both in bed and in their underwear like the normal romance scene.  I think it would have been nice if romanced Kaidan hung out in your cabin instead of the observation room.

Loved, loved, loved the facial animations.  The look Kaidan throws at Shepard during the date after he asks the, "What do you want?" and his face during the romance scene when Shepard pushes him against the couch were perfect.

Omg and when Diana Allers hit on my femshep I wanted to send her out the airlock (even moreso than usual).

Edit: When you select "Thank you," Shepard says something like, "You make me strong." Then Kaidan says something like, "I want to be your strength; I want to be your soft place to land. I love you."  I prefer the "I love you" option much more.

Yeah, personally, I felt Kaidan's romance was perfect, and I didn't quite realize why some people were so up in arms about the other romances until I saw them. I feel for them.

I too have been depressed, tired... my mom thinks it's because I'm sick, but I can't explain to her why I'm really depressed. It's been eight days since I finished the game!

I just replayed it to see what would happen if you turned down Kaidan and sure you cuddle but after the dream you still wake up in bed in nothing just about and so is he. Not that I'm going to complain.
Still I like the cuddling option or calling up. One time I hope rumors are true about a romance dlc.

What does Shepard say when you pick "Thank you" instead of "I love you"? and what's Kaidans reply to that?

 
You get kaidan talking about how he wants to be your soft place to land and he loves you.

Edit: For once I want prothy to help miss Allers or whatever out the air lock. I tried giving her a chance but she also made trouble with the crew other than flirt with you. Makes me more upset that they even pick her to be a romance rather than vega now >.<

I always thought that more happened with the doctor than he let on, but I don't think he really cared about her either. It's like that scene from When Harry Met Sally:

Sally: Harry I think this takes a long time. It might be months before we're actually able to enjoy going out with someone new.
Harry: Yah...
Sally: And may be longer, before we're actually able to go to bed with someone new.
Harry: Oh I went to bed with her
Sally: You went to bed with her?

I mean three years is a really long drought. In my playthrough I always imagine that he's not upset because Shepard hooked up with someone else, but that she was emotionally involved. Does anyone know if he asks about one of the non-acheivement LIs in the hospital scene if you hooked up with them? Or if Ash reacts if BroShep had renegade sex with Jack?

I still want there to be a "We were on a break!" conversation option with him in the cafe scene.

Well I don't know about that. The vibe I get from Kaidan is that he wouldn't sleep with someone unless he really cares about her. I mean he was always so cautious and stuff, one night stands might not be his thing... Or maybe I just don't want to imagine him with some other woman. :sad panda:

Is anyone here actually going to buy the Kaidan action figure (granted that they actually come out)? If the DLC was good, I might be tempted, but I'm not sure what I would do with him... I could set him between my Legolas action figure and Gandalf action figure, I'm sure they'd all enjoy having tea on Tuesdays!

Yes I took Kaidan with me. I was really glad he got to actully see evidence and his response was so sweet. Plus I loved how he reacted to the human repear and how he wished he was there with you. Also I noticed on the Legion mission when they plug you into their consensus how incredibly protective he becomes:O Did anyone elese notice that? He gets all worried about you and is constantly watching you.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the DLC will be an alternate appearance and/or a new weapon.  There's no way they'd attach story content to the action figures, right?  I mean, they'd have to make the DLC available for purchase on its own then.

Also, that tea party is giving me funny mental pictures.

Well it's not like he was expecting Shepard to come back.  I just hate the idea of him being FOREVER ALONE if Project Lazarus hadn't started up.  Of course, this is my headcannon for my Shep who moved on in ME2.  My headcanon for my loyal Shep is totally different.  Man, it's hard to keep track of all my complex, imaginary universes.

And you're right.  Everything Kaidan says or does in ME1 indicates that he's very cautious with relationships.

The Kaidan romance is done so well in 3. His personality has really improved as well, I always thought he was a cutie, but he really developed in a lot of ways. Personally, I've always felt his romance felt the most natural and least awkward, since he had mutual feelings for you from the start. I've never liked the romances where you have to choose really obvious and kind of creeper dialogue to begin. If I wasn't perfectly content with his romance, I'd be upset that Femshep doesn't seem to get as many options as Maleshep.

Awesome.  I saw a video where instead of Kaidan saying, "I've always loved you, through all these years, through everything," he says, "I love you too, until the end of time."  Does he say this if you cheated on him and then got back together with him?  My playthrough was loyal.

Edit: Yeah every customized femshep I've seen looks better than the default femshep in ME3.

Default fem Shep's face is too cartoony and big, it almost looks too big for the rest of her body. I dunno why they didn't base her default appearance on some model, like they did with default male Shepard. We could have all picked from several RL faces.

I did take him on both.  And ditto on what Silverpearl said.  The Kaidan romance was one of the few things that got me to finish the playthrough.  It was incredibly well done.

The farewell scene really puts into context what Raphael Sbarge had said on his audioblog last October:

And today, we did the last scene in the game. It was intense and emotional and, for the ladies, I can say it’s pretty rip-your-heart-out. The director is up in Canada, and the writers there as well, and they’re sort of called/patched through, so I hear them on the line, and we were all really choked up by that last scene. It was beautifully written and exciting to be a part of this whole journey of Kaidan.
