Maybe you only get it depending on if your a vanguard or engineer etc?

I was a Vanguard and I didn't get it. I'm an adept this time. But I took Liara so I think she stole a lot of the dialogue.

1). You activate the conversation by clicking on the broken elevator to the left.
2). As a biotic Shepard, you'll get a slightly modified version (i.e. the one I got).
Kaidan: Well, looks like we're taking the long way around. Unless you know how to biotically float?
Shepard: I think we're both out of luck on that one.

I wonder which companion is the best to take around with Kaidan? Liara seemed to talk a lot during my playthrough, I'm thinking maybe I'll switch her out with James or Garrus in hopes of hearing Kaidan talk more. Probably James, even though having two tanks on a team is kind of redundant.

Man, I want this conversation bad.  My girl is an adept! And I want her to pick up the floaty thing.  She should have learned to do that in her 6 months detention rather than pick up the sniper rifle.  Or done both.  Yeah both.

I was an Infiltrator, took Kaidan and Javik, no Samara, and I got it, too. If you take someone other than Javik, maybe their line takes priority, so you get theirs and not Kaidan's? Javik doesn't seem to have many random lines outside of certain missions, so he might be a safer bet to take than anyone else. EDIT - Er, if you have him.

I kind of loved that line, partly because it sounded like he was seriously considering it. XD

Yeah I feel like Liara has chatter priority (or I'm being paranoid) but she's definitely staying on the ship when I do a new playthrough.  I wish they had given Kaidan singularity, stasis or throw.  Liara just had too many useful biotic powers.

Singularity is the only reason I'm slightly reluctant to not bring her. Singularity + Cyro Blast + Slam is the best combination EVER.

I had that dialogue with Garrus as the third party member. I'm kinda glad my Shep didn't focus his six months on learning to float, the results would have been catastrophic.

Kaidan has some excellent snark on the rescue Koris mission as well, if I recall correctly. It ends with Shepard's astute observation that Alliance Intel was always underfunded.

HA!  I want that line! I thought he was with me on that quest...now I'll want to do it again...

He told my Shepard that he didn't think either he or her could manage it. I was playing a Sentinel at the time. The dialogue you get must depend on your class and who you take along. I had Garrus as my other squadmate.

EDIT: TS2Aggie is right. That was the dialogue I got.

Ive got a question if any of you have played through with a 'cheating' shep, do squaddies have comments before you settle on a romance? ie me1 kai, me2 garrus, do they get any jealous mutterings at each other at any point?

I play as a Soldier...

I got the "we're both out of luck on that one" the first time I played the mission, had James with me. Then I accidently kicked the power cord of my XBOX and just restart the mission with Javik and I got Kaidan saying "Not in the next ten minutes".

Seems random...?

One of my favorite dialogues for Kaidan happens at Eden Prime with Liara.
He asks Liara if she has ever found a dinosaur and then Liara goes on into this mini lecture about how she's an archeologist and not a paleontologist and how different they are. Then she says something like, "Wait..you're joking right?" And Kaidan responds with just, "Nah." He obviosly was but didn't want to make her feel bad afterwards 

I got that conversation with Garrus as the other member of the party.  Can't remember what he said though he did seem to tease her.

Apparently Javik say's to Garrus at some point that he's too late if he was trying to get with Shepard because she's joined with Kaidan. I've never heard it though. Liara makes comments about it in the beginning on Mars and stuff. If you try to hit on Joker at the bar he makes a comment not being like Kaidan. But thats all i've heard so far.

I didn't get any and I was trolling for them.  Brought Garrus and Kaidan on multiple missions.  I imagined some tension in there though - like the reason Garrus is 2nd off the shuttle after Shep is because he's trying to prevent Kaidan from getting close to her, and that Kaidan really wanted to pull Shep out of that pod with the Geth, but didn't want to start a fist fight with a Turian.  It worked for me.   In fact, I have big plans to eventually write something detailing all that tension.  Then Shep will cave and have quickie Kaidan in the lounge and try to keep it a secret.  These are the things my deranged mind imagines in between bouts of being mad at the ending.

Also, OUAT was full of Raphael Sbarge.  I'm so happy.  He could read a phone book to me and I could listen for hours.

Forgot to mention the class I was playing was an infiltrator. Already saved passed the mission or else I'd have gone back and recorded it for you guys. But it looks like someone else will do it, so hurray!

I was so hoping for some banter where Kaidan starts to be annoyed by all Vega's flirting but I haven't run into anything.
