when Sbarge mentioned the LI dialog with mShep (and I don't know the exact wording, if someone else does, feel free to chime in) did it occur to you that it's not actually new gay/bi romance, but just the continuation if you import a transgendered Shepard to avoid non-spoken dialog gaps as they sometimes occur in ME1?

He's not even a gamer, I doubt he understands stuff like changing gender flags to get the Kaidan romance as ManShep He was asked explictly about male Shepard, said BW told him it will happen and that they're working on the writing. Don't worry Plus he realized he wasn't suppoused to reveal that so obviously, it's not about something we would already know

BTW, very interesting info about video game face models here: social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/103/index/7213938/4 could possibly explain why BioWare can't reveal Kaidan's face model name

About the "talking head" - since it's almost impossible to notice the size of distance between Shepard and Kaidan from that angle I always was under impression he whispers entire second part in Shepard's ear. Shepard is stoic in this case, what can I say :-P

About "who put the photo there?" - I totally can see Miranda setting that photo and then setting all nearby cameras to record when Shepard approaches photo/activating it. Then recorded video is analyzed to make a conclusion about how efficiently Shepard, nearly quoting TIM, "forgot about past relationship". Pretty wise decision too. Safety first from the rabid fans I'd say.

@mineralica - Your insane conspiracy theory is turning me to a believer. Or maybe I just want the possibility of Kaidan and Miranda interacting is all. Swap stories and experiences on how they deal with Shepard's antics.

Or it's possible that both Kaidan, Ash (and Joker) face models were some random people they pulled from the street for quick job/cash and they don't really have their portfolios and contact data all over the place, maybe on just a single piece of papers burried in the archives. It's been probably around 5 years now that they've took the scans of their faces.
That means though that real Kaidan lives somewhere in Edemont!

I would say that it's the lack of an import flag being set and preplanning on the part of the story-writing people.  Although in Kaidan's case it works, because for him, sex doesn't appear to be the high important relationship factor - interpersonal emotions are.  So getting everything out in the open about how he feels and knowing that Shepard accepts him as a human being instead of as a weapon would mean everything to him, while sex is merely a continuation of that.

I simply like the joke that all that implied sexual tension caught up with them at just the wrong moment.  XD

He didn't. BW did a copy+paste job from straight romance and when they realized it didn't entirely work in the same-sex context and would have to be rewritten and rerecorded in parts (and have additional motion-capture job done for m/m cutscenes) they dropped the concept so from what I know Sbarge never got to the point of recording actual m/m exclusive lines.

well, I don't question that there's recording of mShep/Kaidan romance lines for ME3, but I'm just not convinced that it's the official thing you get by normally playing the game a.k.a. Kaidan and/or mShep addressing their feelings after all this time.
it could also be dialog recorded in case people import a transgendered Shepard all the way from ME1 through ME2 into ME3 (it would still be a nice touch if BioWare actually bothered to get those lines recorded and into the game as opposed to having mShep just tilting his head and the subtitles showing as sometimes happens in ME1 )
still hoping for a proper mShep/Kaidan romance

given how some people reacted to receiving rivalry points if you told Anders "you and Karl?! *eeewwww* GTFO ******!!1!" (<- actual in-game dialog miiiight have been different ) they might find a way around it, so you really only flirt with the bi options if you actively go for it and not by 'accidentially' clicking the dialog option with the big golden heart or ME equivalent
and yes, I know that DA and ME are made by different teams, but I can't imagine them never ever talking and exchanging info, so ...

^Well, Criz, I don't think they'll be making something that'll be exclusively used for transgendered Shep. I actually think that'll add more work for them if they decide to make a separate dialog exclusively for transgendered Shep. I'm not sure, but there's a possibility that you can romance Kaidan without importing? Like if you're new to Mass Effect or you only bought the third game? We'll just have to wait and see.

Also are you referring to the vid where male Shep romances Kaidan? 'Cause as far as I know I think the reason why Shep never get to say some of the lines is because they weren't able to finish the recording. I don't even think Sbarge got to record a m/m option because Kaidan would refer to male Shep with 'ma'am'.

And I don't think they'll be including rivalmance in the ME game like in DA.

Ohh I see. In that case I can assure you they would never, ever work on a content that required modding/hacking ME1 or ME2 to in order to work. Developers just don't do that. If they're working on mShep/Kaidan romance, then they're working on it to be part of the vanilla offical game. Absolutely no chance they would do it for imported DragShep.

I thought that was already done for Horizon ... but then I only have one femShep who went through that and didn't play that with my edited Shepard yet, and only saw a video ... not exactly enough to properly compare it
and I guess things like mShep's version of having the pleasure of javing Kaidan serve under him was included at some point and it would have taken more work to make sure it's all gone ...

So yeah I started a new save the other day with options that I'd never picked, as now I have the Genesis comic... and I saved Ashley. So this was my first ever playthrough where Kaidan was dead... played a few missions was going alright. But when his face appeared at the Normandy crash site... I shed a tear and deleted the save.  Now I know how much content I'll be missing but I will never play ME3 with Ashley as a Squadmate.

And yeah, i liked Miranda , too. At first, I didn't, but as I got to know her she became one of my favorite characters in ME2. A touching point for me was when she saluted Shepard...for the first time...right after we entered the omega 4. Aw shucks.

But back to Kaidan. I'm wondering what you guys think he's going to think of Shepard after he finds out abt. the Arrival incident?

How funny! I did the same thing..almost. I was trying to start a lil drama in one of my playthrus, just to see. So I mildly flirted w/Liara. I thought it was mild. Next thing I know, my almost kiss scene by the lockers (which I treasure) was all screwed up w/ Liara showing up. Arrgggh! I deleted it and started over, lol.

I guess that's what you get playing w/ppl's hearts..lol
