Major Kaidan Alenko in ME3: We're going to need a bigger boot.

Because the crew tend to walk about so much, I spotted Kaidan straight away post-Thessia. Might be wise to always go to him first, even for the auto dialogue it.
There's also post-bomb mission auto dialogue with Kaidan, he's speaking to Garrus over comms I think about Victius.

You can also click on him during the poker scene and he will have auto-dialouge. Apparently I'm missing convo I had no idea about. I didn't know about post Thessia convo. God this is irritating. This time around I didn't get the, "Is it wrong I'm grinning like a fool," and "Why didn't you wake me?" "Well next time wake me." Am I missing something here? Do you talk to him immediately?
Also with the Indoctrination/Hallucination theory, James says 2 x in auto-dialouge, "Do you hear that hum or is it just me?" Once in the middle of the game and right before you go to earth. I found that interesting.
Wait, Kaidan has something post-Thessia? My first run, which I'm doing over now, I got Garrus being all awesome BFF and sending Shep's arse to get some rest. But I was stunned I had nothing from this guy that's you know, IN LOVE WITH HER!!! I seriously was ready to abuse houseplants.
Oh damn, top! Kaidan counting Vetta's freckles to make sure Cerberus put them all back.
Yes apparently I'm missing that convo as well. Now I'm starting to want a list of convo's/auto-dialogue. So I don't miss anything. It's bad enough that some of it is bugged. Also why can't we ever find them on the Citadel like every other team mate (besides the date)!?! Why didn't they just do a convo style like ME1? Especially since we get them the 2nd half of the game. I was looking for ways last night to get Kaidan sooner but I haven't found how to do that yet.

Wait....you got him before the bomb mission??? It says it locks that mission out in the guide book if you don't do it before the citadel coup.

It locks out by progress similar to the Grissom mission, I think after 3 missions. You do the first mission to rescure the platoon first then..
cure genophage - citadel coup - bomb mission.

Didn't know that. I'll give it a try for extra dialogue with Ashley.
Grissom Academy can't be done with the VS, right?

Yup, I learnt that the hard way, wanted to take Kaidan there but it went before I got him back. <_<

First off, when you see Kaidan interacting with the other crew members on the Normandy, is there more to their conversation than what you initially walk in on? I just saw him playing poker with Vega, and they had a cute convo about Kaidan losing and whatnot. I stuck around for a bit (mainly because I was pleasantly surprised that the Garrus/Vega interaction in the mess hall was quite long), but they didn't say anything else.
Yes to this. Just walk out of the room for a few seconds, or talk to someone else, and come back in again. They will have a hilarious conversation about taking down a reaper.
He should have one immediately after he join the Normandy. He should be leaning against the window and he talks about his family.
Also, can someone please detail the Kaidan romance for me? I've had the Cerberus conversation with him (about those ex-Cerberus agents being good people), and I just had dinner with him, earning the Paramour achievement. Is there another conversation with him before the romance scene?
Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the quick response!
Wow, looks like I missed some Kaidan dialogue as well. And I've been so meticulous in talking to him after every single mission.
In the poker scene, I walked in on the initial conversation, walked out and met with Liara and Garrus, then walked back in to the poker room, but there was no more conversation between them. How long do you have to wait before they start talking again? I talked to other people and it still didn't continue their conversation. I swear, I must've waited like 5-10 minutes and they never said anything! It was so funny having Shepard standing there and Vega and Kaidan are sitting at the poker table, staring at each other and not saying anything.
I have one other question, if you guys don't mind...is there a repercussion for being Renegade with him on a few lines? On Mars, I went Renegade on him once (and actually liked Shepard's response to Kaidan when he still thinks she's with Cerberus), and I was so afraid it wouldn't let me continue his romance. I guess what I'm trying to ask is how Renegade can you get with him without it breaking the chance of a romance? My Paragade wanted to give him the cold shoulder on Mars, but I was afraid it would ruin any chance of romance with him (that's why I only did the one Renegade line).
Also, someone mentioned earlier about Kaidan's lines in the hospital with a non-imported Shepard. He had the exact same lines with my romanced Shep as he did with a new Shep (if I remember correctly). At least the line where Shepard says that he gets better with age and he responds by asking if Shepard if flirting with him. I heard this line first with my romanced Shep and thought it was so cute...then, when I noticed that he says the same thing to a new Shep, I got a little annoyed. Does anyone know if he has any lines specific to a romanced Shep?

Definitely want to squeeze out ANY dialogue with Ash if possible.
Also wonder if there's a list for missions you HAVE to finish before the Udina Coup. I had to do the entire part twice since 5 or 6 missions failed 'cause of the coup.

To everyone: Bomb mission IS possible to do after the coup, but you need to keep the strict order - Turian Platoon -> Priority Tuchanka -> Coup -> Bomb. Nothing can go in between, so everything has to be done before Turian Platoon because if you do MORE than 2 missions between Turian Platoon and Bomb, the bomb will explode.
I'm going to try it

- Benning: Evidence (N7: Cerberus Abductions has to be completed)
- Citadel: Alien Medi-Gel Formula (N7: Cerberus Lab has to be completed)
- Citadel: Barla Von
- Citadel: Biotic Amp Interfaces (Grissom Academy has to be completed)
- Citadel: Hanar Diplomat
- Citadel: Improved Power Grid (buy from a store on the Citadel or complete N7: Cerberus Attack)
- Grissom Academy
- Ismar Frontier: Prototype Components (not 100% sure on this, but better be safe)
- Tuchanka: Turian Platoon
- Tuchanka: Bomb (if you complete more than 2 missions after Turian Platoon; if you don't, you can complete it after the Coup)

Thanks for info. I asked this yesterday but nobody seemed to know, so I did Bomb quest without Kaidan, what about the Rachni Queen quest? as that is in Act 1 also, any time limits on this?

Could be that, but he might just be saying that cause there is a hum in the shuttle bay. I dunno what it is, but doesn't really sound like a Reaper to me. It hums down there in ME1 as well.

Well I know the Repear IFF is still around and EDI in one of your convos admits to EVA body being Repear tech herself and Joker interupts her and says don't say that or people will get nervous to some sort. I can't remember how that line goes but it is before any of the geth/quarian missions. So there is plenty of Repear tech around. Everything is leaning towards Indoctrination. That is whole crappy thing about the endings is that it leaves so much room open for interrpretation. People are looking for an explanation to the crazy ending.
