It doesn't really say post-campaign. Think about it people, the endings leave the galaxy in such different states (ironically to what people refer to as just "different colors") that it would require HUGE amount of additional work take all ending variables into account. The fact that in one ending organics are now partially synthetics changes the very foundations of life in the galaxy.

True. But it really depends on how they decide to change it.  If they decide to expand on the endings we already have, then I imagine taking the time to cover plot holes and provide more closure will take much more time than scrapping the endings we have and coming up with a completely new ending.

Either way I'll be patient.  Diablo 3 is taking years to come out even though they announced it years ago.  I'd rather have them take their time with the endings... well, maybe not TOO much time lol.  I'm currently playing ME1 again to pass some time. :D

What? Kaidan on page 2? The Romance threads are blowing up!

Anyway I had a very ambitious idea last night and stayed up 'til 4 am scrambling to write down my thoughts (and my idea of the ending I wanted.) Part of the idea would be making an illustrated video, but my drawing skills aren't up to code. I'm going to post my Kaidan heavy ending, then do some sketches of the "epilogue" portion and see how they turn out. Probably won't do anything due to my lack of ambition, but I'm going to try.

Thanks for the reply Commodore.  I guess I'll just suffer through the freezing then.  I can't imagine it makes that big a diff if you install it on the Xbox.

Been meaning to tell you that I love your BSN name, btw.  It was my great grandfathers name....I kid you not

i have the game installed to my xbox and it runs smoother, load times are quicker and ive only had one freeze since as opposed to quite a few whilst playing from disc... remember to install both discs too.. after first one is done, you dont get the prompt to load up second one, but just go into game menu and install it..

well worth doing

Huh....I wondered why I didn't get asked to install the second disc Posted Image ...what does the second disc do anyway? Is it all that important? I'm a bit confused now Posted Image

EDIT: And to keep this on topic....

Ok, I suppose I will try installing it then and see how that goes.  Thanks everyone!

Grats Kia!

On the ending thing from Casey, I'll believe it when I see it.  I don't want additional content that continues gameplay from before the final mission (what's the point, ya know?) I want an ending that makes sense and gives us choices for different endings.  Yeah.

After watching the romance on Youtube, I think I'm going to have to start a new Sheploo playthrough just for Kaidan. And maybe one for Cortez too, he's pretty sweet. I usually prefer playing FemShep, but they really did a great job with the SS male romances in ME3!

Indeed they did. Both m/m romances are really nice! <3

I know it'll never happen but I'd have so much more respect if Casey just came out and said,

'Yeah so we royally ****ed up, most of our fans hated the ending but don't worry we'll do something about it now.'

All this PR crap makes my head hurt, but I guess it's like anything else tell yourself something's great for long enough you'll even convince yourself it's true.

Agreed. I respect people who can admit they've made mistakes. If they've been planning to add more all along, they should just say it already.. Or, if they don't intend to do anything about it, they should just come out and say it already. His statement just sounds smug and condescending.

Right? And how Shep puts his hand on Kaidan's chin, how Kaidan closes his eyes. Kaidan's face when he says "Look, I didn't want just a quick drink". His flatness when he says "We know this is goodbye" later on. His own "paragon interrupt" when he kisses you.

I just... there's so much love in this game. So many moments of beautiful care that made me cry (and I'm man enough to admit it), made me feel things, made me delighted and heartbroken and amazed.

Why did they give me that ending? I would've taken Space Opera Trite Ending 1: We All Win and Space Opera Trite Ending 2: We All Win but for the Hero and Space Opera Trite Ending 3: Failure. I would've taken trite and predictable because ME was never about the story for me. It was about the little moments.

It was touching Kaidan's chin. It was Garrus standing at the memorial and remembering Ash. It was Kasumi's loss of Keiji, Chakwas' love for Joker, Tali crying over her father. I didn't need a clever, blow me out of the water ending. And I certainly didn't need utter bollucks.

Or they could run with the indoctrination theory the fans created and try again. The current endings are filled with so many out of character moments and gigantic plotholes it might be impossible to make sense of them outside of it just being a dream. I mean Synthesis is about Shepard jumping into a beam of light that's apparently connected to every life in the galaxy to turn everyone into hybrids. It makes no sense in the world of science fiction.

I mean, look at all this stuff: https://docs.google.com/document

So just try it again and add an actual written epilogue rather than this advertisement to buy more DLC (Which is such a blow to the kidneys by the way).

Agreed, it's a horrible plot device but it's the only way I can make sense of any of what happened. Especially Shepard just giving up at the end and the Normandy flying to pick some ice up from Pluto.

I'd take cheesy coma fantasy over the batsh*t crazy ending they left us with. The "worst" solution by rationale of the starchild is killing the Reapers, which smacks of self preservation. The "best" is synthesis which Saren believes is their ultimate goal.

I'm to such a level of desperation, that I'll take an indoctrinated dream. Something! Anything lol.

Saw this linked on twitter earlier, and it completely made me facepalm. It's from a forum post from 2 years ago.

I managed to work a little more on my second playthrough yesterday; still never enough Kaidan, but at least what there is is good. It's slow going, but I'm determined to get the damn scene with my Shep breathing, before I shelve ME3. Even though I hate playing as a male character, I think I will be getting the Witcher 2 next month. I need something that isn't made by BioWare, I think.  <_<

I agree about indoc theory, I don't like it, I hate 'it was all a dream' type nonsense but if they insist on keeping the starchild crap, which judging from Casey's statements to date, is just fine and dandy, remember it's us 'passionate fans' that have a problem with it. I'd take it as a reasonable explanation for the absurd ending we got.

Noone is saying indoc is an amazing plot, rather there's no other way to take what we got and have it make sense. They aren't gonna totally nuke the existing ending, no matter how much it deserves it.

Exactly.  There are two endings I wouldn't like for ME 3.  One being a random GOD LIKE force that saves the Galaxy or another being that to defeat the Reapers, everyone has to become a primitivst and destroy the Relays, Citadel, etc.  Both would make me pretty unhappy as those endings have been done to death.

Please dont tell me that they based the ending on this

@Bekkeal *facepalm* I can't believe that that's been about since before the game, I could accept it as a huge last minute error but they planned this?! What's even worse is that people on the thread said it would Suck big time and WHY!!! And they still did it?!

I.am.gobsmacked. BW is clearly not the company they used to be, they'd better make up for this with lots more Kaidan because I certainly won't be buying anything unless it's Kaidan related (in a big way) or fixes the stupidest ending on the planet. Ridiculous, there's no other word for it *shakes head*

Edit: Apparently be aide makes far more sense than because on my iPhone

The indoctrination theory helps me a lot to deal with the ending(s). So it was only a dream and nothing happens. Nonononono - nothing! :pinched::mellow::unsure:

I honestly have no idea how they came to make the ending that they did, but it's very telling that a number of forumites seemed to be discussing the possibility of such an ending, and how much they would DISLIKE it, two years ago.

This review is quite good, and says everything I feel. "Things that ruin Dreams"

They seem to be asking for feedback on what people would like to see in DA3, now that they are totally done with anything to do with DA2. I'm not touching that one lol.

No it's not. That page is from the Final Hours interview with Bioware. That right there is what Mac Walters and the team based the entire ending around. One sheet of notebook paper with a bunch of scribbles about speculation for everyone.

It's horrifying.

I read in a thread where someone said they switched actual symbolism for symbolic storytelling at the end. I agree. They wanted to show hope by showing your friends lived and a "fresh start" on a new planet somewhere. Problem is, they just tacked it on, didn't work it into the story. When you are telling a story you literally have infinite options, you can figure out a way to put in the symbolism you want without being so jarring. It's just lazy.

Then, there's also the fact that there's so many mis-steps you can't tell what's supposed to be clues and what's just a bug. For instance, is it really a bug that your squad who appears to be dead are with Joker on the new planet?
