*sigh* I'm listening to the ME3 soundtrack and each song brings up an emotion for me about when it was played, "Ardat-Yakshi" creeps me out:pinched:, "I Was Lost Without You" brings a tear to my eyes while still making me feel incredibly happy:wub:, "I'm Proud of You" makes me cry my eyes out:crying:... but "An End Once And For All" and "Credits" just make me feel frustrated and depressed.<_<

As for the Dark Matter debate, I think I recall someone around the forums saying they scrapped the idea early on in ME2's development because it was too overused and unoriginal.

Yes,  because the three choice endings we got complete with gawd-like being in 10-minute solution format so very unique ... er, I mean almost ubiquitous in all of network TV is so very fresh and hardly ever used ...

Ohmygod you guys!  In my 2nd playthrough I just discovered that I can "listen" to the Blasto movie!!!  I am going to preface everything I say with "Badassfully" from now on.  This almost makes up for the horrible endings.*

Off topic, there's a thunderstorm here and my dog is freaking out and refuses to get out of my lap.  I had to give up on MP, for now, as a favor to both the general public and my silly dog, but if she settles down, I'll jump back on.  I'd love to play with some Kaidanites if anyone's on later.

Edit for pic snip and to add that Kaidan's smoldering looks in ME3 made me think of Tangled when they happened. Still awesome though.

Talk to Avina on the presidium commons about the special promotions, then go to the Blasto adds by the apartments.  So much win!!

Has anyone tried out Gibbed's FemShep import fixer yet? I'm tempted to, as my Shep's hair and eye shadow colors had to be changed, but at the same time I've sorta fallen in love with her new look. Oh, decisions, decisions...

Gah! So cute! :3 His romance scene is just so sweet and perfect. Way better than anything fading to  black and implying things; I'd rather just have the cute kisses and hugs and get to have a longer scene ~ glad they did it that way.

The ones I really dislike are the ones who won't even allow the possibility of a happy ending because (I paraphrase) "you just know that there'd be such a storm of reloads .." as though our reloading to get an ending more to our taste somehow destracts from their own experience of an ashes and dust grim/dark ending.

Yeah I'd hate to have a, "How's THIS for closure??" ending where Shepard's remains are found and everyone attends the funeral.  Although my powers of denial have gotten much stronger since beating the game a week ago so I could eventually deal with that too.

Mass Effect 3 - The Animal House Ending: silly but it made me feel slightly better.

Haha, I've seen that Animal House vid. Loved the bit about Liara and the cats, and EDI's iChildren. Makes me eye my iPhone just a bit more warily now...

Yes, this befuddles me. It's like complaining about people using the dark ritual in DA:O to get their "happy" ending. Why shouldn't we have the option? Your ending is the ending that you want.

Of all the things that upset me about how ME3 ended, it was the lack of choice that really gets me.

edit: And the lack of closure, that hurts too.

What I don't understand is why they can't even stand the *option* for a happy ending.  I have played plenty of RPGs that allow for endings that I would not choose (mainly EVIL endings, I'm a paragon softy), but I don't begrudge those who choose differently than me.

And honestly, I don't think the majority of people need rainbows and unicorns to consider it a *happy* ending.  Even if it were crazy hard to achieve, and even with massive losses no matter what, if Shepard could live through the game and have the possibility of a reunion with their LI, I bet we wouldn't have the outcry we currently see.

I LOVE working for my happy ending. Like Fable 3, for example, you needed to raise 14 million gold (or whatever currency) in order to be purely evil in the end, they game throws every easy way out at you possible, and getting the "best" ending is fairly simple - If you act like a jerk and break all your friendships and promises. But earning all that money by myself, which spent hours of "press A when the meter is full" mini games, really felt like an accomplishment. Well, except that there was only really one ending of that game.
But still, I love the feeling of accomplishing something. That's why I've done every single sidequest in all three ME games (except the Asari writings one...) If they did include a super hard to get good ending, I'd be happy.

And on a random note, I had a dream last night that Kaidan, Liara, Thane, and I were sitting in the Normandy's lounge discussing whether or not Dany should have died from eating a raw horse heart. Your avatar just reminded me of that
