One of my problems with ME3 is that there wasn't enough Kaidan time. I think you should have been able to call him up to your cabin whenever you wanted.

I agree... also more stuff with everyone... well at least Kaidan, Garrus, Thane, and James....hehe. More convos and cutscenes would have been amazingly awesome... *stares off into space...*

Yep. I finished my playthrough yesterday. The game was perfect to me until the last 5 minutes. Now I'm so depressed I can't even describe it to someone that's not an ME fan. I don't want to depress you guys that finished it before me and are already getting better again, so I'll just leave a link to my opinion post regarding the endings (and I tried to keep it as constructive as possible, it's not just ranting), so if someone wants to read it, feel free to discuss it with me, and give me ideas to improve the post.
And regarding Kaidan's romance, it was soooo beautiful, the final cutscene was everything I hoped for, throughout the romance, Kaidan was the balance to my Shep, keeping her sane with everything going on around her <3

*goes off to search a "we want better endings" sig.

Ray respondes
'Exec Producer Casey Hudson and the team are hard at work on a number of game content initiatives that will help answer the questions, providing more clarity for those seeking further closure to their journey. You’ll hear more on this in April.'
It looks hopeful but one thing I still can't believe is that Bioware honestly didn't see a problem with the endings at all. And that still worries me.

TBH, you quoted him very selectively. He's actually very sincere and humble when you read the full article.

We can hope.

While I am happy to see some kind of response to the issue, I will take his statement with the grain of salt this has earned Bioware from me.  I will be patient and I will wait and see what happens, and leave that flicker of hope alive that things will be done in a satisfactory manner.

i think the whole responce was discouraging. it seemed to me that they were saying no, we arent changing the end. we'll release downloadable content (which i'm sure we'll have to pay for) that explains everything, but the ending stays.

there was something about the whole tone of the letter that seemed like we were being yelled at but you know not being yelled at. god forbid we show any  dissatisfaction with their "work of art". mass effect 3 was a wonderful game, no one will dispute that. but the ending felt cheap. i wish they would realize that.

not considering the endings, the game still wasnt amazing. it was good but not amazing. too much was lost in order to make it simple and appeal to shooter fans. me1 is definitely better as a whole. the only great thing about 3 is the romance with kaidan and some of the story elements. otherwise it was too simple and not enough RPG

Yeah but the overall message I got was that they couldn't understand why we didn't like it...
'The journey you undertake in Mass Effect provokes an intense range of highly personal emotions in the player; even so, the passionate reaction of some of our most loyal players to the current endings in Mass Effect 3 is something that has genuinely surprised us.'
Maybe there's more hidden meaning to the ending afterall, probably the indoctrination stuff.

My feeling is not.... they thought it was good enough, but if they do keep the ending as is and just add to it they'll roll with the whole indoctrination thing.... i mean they probably had a touch in there right at the very end, but not as much as people are making it out to be..

And from what i've played so far it's a good, maybe even great game so far...but not amazing. Too much was left out or could have been expanded upon. Story as a whole, i like ME best.. characters fun things ME2..
I know ME3 is bigger than the first 2 combined but, with it being the final, it should have been bigger... with more...and closure.

I'm going to take the response as something to be hopeful about, unless proven otherwise. :)

I will finish this second playthrough, and then wait for April. If they address the ending problems through good DLC, then I will happily play lots more ME3. If not, then it will be shoved into my deepest, darkest drawer, and forgotten about.

Loved this :)

this was full of win!!^_^

about the article.. im adopting a wait and see approach, even if they wanted to do something right away, the still have to programme and make the DLC so we're going to have to wait for it anyways... Article was pretty decent and something is being done.. happy enough with that

only thing im slightly worried about is.. sure explain the endings.. but thats not what peeps are asking for.. some want their happy endings, some want their epilogue.. give us all these things.. not just an explanation of the star child...

The overall message is that they are already working on in-game content to address endings complaints/criticism. That's the only thing that matters.

You know what sucks the most about these endings? The fact that it's ruined the games replayability. I've had Mass Effect 3 on for over an hour now, with the Normandy just sitting on the map screen hovering over the Quarian Envoy Ship mission...

For the life of me I can't bring myself to begin the mission. I have literally no motivation or desire to continue on with the game even though I enjoyed 99% of it and thats really ****ing sad.

I finished my second playthrough to get the "happy" ending. I have to say with my first playthrough and not having enough ems to get the breathing thing, I was okay with the endings. They could have been better, but whatever, Shepard is dead. What's the point?
But now after the breath ... I want her to get rescued! But who could come get her? Anderson is dead, Normandy crew is stranded who knows where and the relays went boom. Poor Shep ...

And someone talking about "Marauder Shield" killing them ... I know how you feel, This insanity run really hasn't been hard. But THIS guy ... Killed me over and over and over .... I had to restart at least 15 times, I was really getting annoyed at that! But hey I beat him eventually, lol

I agree. I haven't gotten to the ending myself (though I know how the game ends), but what I've experienced so far is great.  The Kaidan romance, especially, was perfect for me. It more than made up for the lack of Kaidan dialogue in the game.

After reading that post from Dr. Ray, I feel like he's almost making it seem as if the fans didn't enjoy the game at all.  I know a lot of people have expressed that 99% of the game is perfect...it's just that last 1% that just didn't make sense.  I hope he knows that the majority fans have enjoyed the game immensely and are just disatisfied with the endings.

That being said, it makes me wonder if Bioware seriously thought that these endings were good.  I've come to terms with the fact that my Shepard can die. I've even gone so far as to headcanon Shepard sacrificing herself much to my sadness. But Gilligan's Island garden world, really? I'm still holding out hope that Bioware has been trolling us, and they really have something else up their sleeve...

That was awesome.  That's how it really ends in my head now.

Enjoyed the statement from Dr. Ray.   But now I feel kindof bad.  I seriously love the game.  I'm gonna keep playing it (I mean I was up until 2 on MP last night) and I'll recommend it to my friends with the caveat that the ending makes no sense.  Once I got over the shock of how horrific the endings were I remembered how much I enjoyed the 99% of the game.  I hope BioWare knows that most of what they did was awesome.  I'm not trying to be a whiny entitled gamer, but I'm really hopeful that the endings will eventually make sense with what they're working on now.

@ Bekkael
"End on a positive note. This is really important for video games...life in general is full of shi**y stuff happening all the time. When I invest a hundred hours into a game I need to walk away feeling like a hero."~Brent Knowles

I thought BioWare would do 3 endings: one bad, one mostly good, and a good ending (where Shep/LI are alive, and Relays aren't destroyed), and really, I care so much about my Shepard that even if I had to do 10 playthroughs with her to get that ending I would do it. IMO, it would be the most obvious thing BW could do, and one that would probably satisfy more fans than what we got.

Agreed. I loved the game until it's last minutes, and that worries me, if they did such a great game (a great franchise), why the ending didn't made sense? It's a deeper issue than Shep living or not (though I really want her to live), it's about several unanswered questions.

Ok like I said yesterday I felt very hopeful about changing or adding to the endings and now after reading that post from Dr. Ray I feel even better. I just hope they don't screw this up. Though it's another day again where I feel hopeful since 2 weeks ago:innocent:

him bunking up there permanently would have been nice, especially when it shows shepard going to sleep and having a bad dream. he would have been there to comfort her then Posted Image.
to me it seemed that garrus was more concerned about shepard than kaidan, especially after thessia. my femshep wanted some kaidan loving, though my other save with love the garrus comfort Posted Image
