Entering deep stage of depression in 3..2..1...

Most likely this question has been answered but I would prefer not scrolling through 100+ pages of posts.
With constantly going back and forth to the Citadel to turn in quests I always manage to bump into Kaidan at Apollo's Cafe, which naturally starts the date cutscene if I interact with him. My question is this: If I didn't bump into him first, would I get some sort of message (e-mail or shipboard conversation) to meet him there instead?
Thanks for any info you can provide!

We're here for you! It's ok, we've all been there - breathe, remember the good bits (and there are SO many) and all will be FINE!

sounds like a bug - you should get a bunch of mail from pretty much the whole team about meeting them at the Citadel, and you'll go see each of them in turn, no doubt. I think it's that section (with a couple of minor exceptions) that is the decision point for Who Shall Be Your Love Interest

@Kate815 Oh that's rude ! I just love him but when he says that I'm feeling like the priiiiiiiize... I think I'm a hopelessly romanticolic. I wanted the "end of time" line :'(
Kaidan actually throws out the prize line?! I'm really glad I either missed or forgot about that.
No he doesn't. Thank GOD. He says He's the luckiest man alive.

Muchas Gracias, Lady Jess! I'm on my second playthrough so I'll wait until I get his message.
Whoever said "Patience is a virtue" obviously has not waited for Kaidan to write and invite him or her to dinner!

Thanks all. It apparently the worst day to finish, because while I was gone the Retake charity endeavor saw its end. So, sad day all around.
I will not be completing my second playthrough. Just abandoning it in London to make up my own ending.

The founder of the Chipin page was contacted by Child's Play and respectfully requested to wrap things up. Unofficially, Child's Play was getting a lot of hate mail/bad PR from gamer press.

Seriously?! They said, "Stop donating your money because people are sending us hatemail"? That's insanely stupid, for lack of a better description.

Well it's certainly a sad thing. But to be fair, we're donating money but with the price tag of a big ol'e sh*t storm attached. Some of the gaming press has been absolutely ruthless about the charity. I can understand them wanting to part ways before things get any worse. Ray's little statement I think was the tipping point.

I know right? I think that was so stupid too that they would tell the person who started the charity to stop it. It's like saying "Thanks for the money but no thanks." Oh well, at least many of us did our little part and hopefully the kids benefit from it.

Unfortunately for a charity, reputation and word of mouth is EVERYTHING. After Katrina, and the Red Cross scandals, the part of the Red Cross I worked with (Armed Forces Emergency Services) took alot of crap, even though it had NOTHING to do with that part of things. All they do is get emergency messages from families to military members. But because of all the bad press, our funding went to crap...donations dropped, it sucked.
It's sad people used their word of mouth to inflict harm on a charity like Child's Play, but CP did what they had to do to be able to KEEP helping the bigger picture.

About Ken and Gabby, apparently you can help them get together or something? Was this cut out on our Kaidan games because of that weird glitch or is this still possible? I never got the option to talk to them so I didn't even know that they could romance each other.
And I just found out that you don't see Kelly at all unless you have dinner with her in ME2. Is this true? I didn't see her on my playthrough, but then again I rushed through everything. I didn't even see Conrad! I thought I was doing a random side mission and it turned out to be his mission! He came in at the end, and I was like, "Wtf is Conrad doing here?". I completely missed talking to him beforehand.
As for Kaidan commenting about Thane, he says nothing at all. At least he didn't mention anything on my playthrough. Thank goodness for headcanon. Kaidan is definitely going to be asking Shepard about Thane. Wait a minute...Kaidan asks about Thane in the hospital? I didn't get that. Then again, I talked to Kaidan first before talking to Thane.
Yeah the dialogue is ****ed with Ken and Gabby if you romance Kaidan. I'm wondering if maybe Kelly Chambers is bugged too, it seems weird that she'd only show her face if you let her come up for dinner and feed your fish, hell knows what we're missing regarding her scenes... not that I'm too bothered about that one because she was a pain in the arse anyway. I've heard you can get her to commit suicide though.
I got Conrad fortunately, that's a funny little quest. I wish we could have him as a crew member on the Normandy.
Ken and Gabby are bugged. The majority of their conversations only trigger for Shepards who are close friends with Ashley. The Kelly thing was done on purpose. Apparently the dinner is her "loyalty mission" and if you don't develop the relationship to that point she never leaves Cerberus.

Seriously?! And the gaming press have the audacity to tell us that we're the bad guys, when they sit there and attack a ****ing childrens charity.
That's ****ing disgraceful.
