Yeah, everyone is pretty down in the dumps about it. On the bright side, I'll be back to spending my free time with the Kaidanites. Oh yeah.

Yes, obsessing about Kaidan is the only thing softening the blow from the ending.

Unfortunately, obsessing about Kaidan also reminds me of how he and Joker left without me... but I can just pretend that never happened.

I'm down with that - this thread keeps me sane :) I felt so awful after finishing the game, I was so glad to be back in here! Cheers, Kaidanites!

This whole situation keeps getting worse and worse. Between Ray's statement, the Charity closing, the emergence of the "hipsters", and Bioware's defense of the ending and seeming unwillingness for a happy ending...
I'm just lost.

Obviously you can't, since you brought it up.

Though I don't blame you. Out of everything that's wrong with the end, that really is the worst offender. It's just utterly wrong.

There's not going to be a happy ending. The relays are going to be destroyed.

We have to each decide if there's something in there that can be salvaged, and we have to reach for it. I think if they can fix their betrayal of the Normandy and her crew, I could at least stand to look at the game, and it's what I continue to fight for, even if they still want to space magic the rest of it.

Thanks all. It apparently the worst day to finish, because while I was gone the Retake charity endeavor saw its end. So, sad day all around.

Really?  I thought it was going on into April.  What happened.
And also *hugs*  I will not be completing my second playthrough.  Just abandoning it in  London to make up my own ending.

The founder of the Chipin page was contacted by Child's Play and respectfully requested to wrap things up.  Unofficially, Child's Play was getting a lot of hate mail/bad PR from gamer press.

I agree with Lady.  That is just silly.  I mean, how bad can the press really be?  No one's dying over these endings.  There's no political agenda tied to it.  This is one time when I'm okay with saying "it's just a video game"  It's raising money for kids.

Ken and Gabby are bugged. The majority of their conversations only trigger for Shepards who are close friends with Ashley. The Kelly thing was done on purpose. Apparently the dinner is her "loyalty mission" and if you don't develop the relationship to that point she never leaves Cerberus.

Ya know, if Kelly's not smart enough to figure out that she should leave Cerberus on her own, I'm not sure I want to see her.    Everybody else had enough sense to get outta there.

I like to imagione that Kaidan, Joker and Garrus [ the 3 who come out of the ship for me] where on there way to the citadel to rescue Shep and Anderson but due to space magic they find themselves about to go though the mas realay instend and THAT's how they go on that stuped planet

PR is everything for charities and not for profits.  I compeltely understand their reasoning.  Still doesn't make it any less sad.  80K in 8 days is pretty miraculous.  I have no doubt we would have raised 100K by the end of the drive.

I admire your dedication, I think I'm ready to give up hope. To me, it's all or nothing - Either leave it as is or make an entire expansion on to the ending. Explanations are worthless to me, it's not the plotholes that bother me. It's the destruction of all technology, killing off Shepard (more or less), and stranding the crew. No amount of explaining will fix that.
It all feels like a cheap cop-out as to why they can't make any sequels to Mass Effect. "Oops, main character's dead, technology is gone, looks like we can't do anything! But, in the meantime, look at our shiny new plans for a Mass Effect MMO!!"

I think I'm done with Bioware anymore... My faith in them each day is falling faster than my Galactic Readiness.

Is this the hipster thing you referred to? I had to look up the reference, only found a link to a Kotaku article from 2 years ago on the subject of an MMO, nothing recently... (of course, that could be because I am extremely un-hip)

I think the MMO thing was a rumor, but a likely rumor. Will definitely not be playing any ME MMO.

Does anyone know how the relationship count is calculated in terms of who walks off your Normandy? Kaidan and Garrus walked off in my Kaidanmance. Garrus and JAVIK walked off in my Garrusmance. I only took Javik on one mission. If anything, I expected Liara or Vega. But Javik?

The MMO was just hypothetical. BW said they're still making ME games, but they'll all take place prior to the trilogy with no Shepard (they announced this prior to ME3's release). I was just making the point that the relay destruction and killing Shep is a really cheap way to ensure none of the games will take place past ME3.

As for hipsters, I was referring more to a counterculture type movement.
First week of release - Everyone agreed the endings were bad and need to be changed. Unification in the masses.
Second week - Ending likers emerge in the masses, accusing and combatting the ending dislikers. Few of the likers truly like the ending, rather, they just want to go against the "mainstream" dislike to be different and argumentative.
Third week - Civil war amongst the fans, everyone broadly generalized into "likers" or "haters" and are at each other's throats. Meanwhile, Bioware is becoming more active with the emergence of more and more "ending hipsters" (ending likers who openly oppose the haters).

Maybe my Sociology class mentality has killed me, but I can't see things improving from here.

Edit: I believe it's supposed to be: Joker - LI - Person you talked to the most who isn't your LI.
For my first ending (accidentally picked Control), it was Joker, Kaidan, and Liara.
For my second ending (Destroy, which I meant to choose originally), it was Joker, Kaidan, and... no one. Just those two

Strange, I always thought it was your love interest along with one of your final squadmembers that walk out of the Normandy.

Edit: nvm, what LadyofRivendell said makes more sense.

If I ever play this game again, I will not be talking to Javik as often. That guy is the last person I would want to be stuck on Gilligan's planet with.

Ha - seems the Shepard VI in the holding bay has dialog based on paragon/renegade scores - my renegade had completely different dialog than I remember my paragon hearing!

I need to get a set of lectures done, but if you haven't found someone when I'm done, I can probably do a game or two.  Origin is Sandtigress (big surprise)!

Hopefully they have some articulate people present at the ME3 Panel at Pax this weekend that can explain to them why we didnt like the endings and why we want our happy endings... this thing with the charity and polls where the no's are close to the 'yes - we want the endings changed' has me slightly worried that Bioware wiill totally miss the freaking point we're trying to get across

I don't know, I picke Synthesis my first time, and got EDI, Joker, and Kaidan. I talked to Garrus most and he was on my final team.

I understand "gathering feedback" as also reading the forums.  But that might not necessarily be a good thing.  I get the feeling that they will have made a decision by the time PAX rolls around anyway.

I would suggest keeping up with Erk Kains articles at Forbes.com. He seems to be in favor of consumers/customers/fans and his articles are well written. I actually subscribed to him on Facebook because I liked his stuff enough.

I hope that BioWare does fix the ending for us by addressing all the plot holes and such. But at this point I'm not holding my breath.

I also noticed you guys talking about who departs the Normandy after it lands on Gilligan's Island. I got Joker/Kaidan/Garrus. What determines the 3rd person? The one you talk to most or something?
