Not specifically related to any recent post, but I just had to say this: this may be an unpopular opinion, but I just have to say it: I don't blame Kaidan for his reaction to Shepard suddenly turning up on Horizon at all.
In fact, I have to admit, it really annoys me when people get too butthurt about him backing away from their Shepards to be rational and try to understand where he's coming from. This is one of the many reasons why I can't really read ME fanfic anymore...because so much of it is "KAIDAN WAS SO MEAN ON HORIZON MY SHEPARD CAN DO NO WRONG OMG". When Kaidan had every reason to be distrustful. I wouldn't love Kaidan the character nearly as much if he'd just been like "oh lol even though you "died" two years ago and never got in touch with me and now you're clearly working with Cerberus, the evil organization that was responsible for all sorts of monstrous acts in the first game, but! because we had sex, I will absolutely forgive you immediately for all of that, in fact, let's have sex right now."
I agree. If I were in his shoes, I would totally feel the same way he did.. But I also think Shepard was a little too passive on Horizon. I don't know. I think in the end, it should be a mutual apology, because both are in the wrong.
When Kaidan accuses Shep of feeling like she owes it to Cerberus for bringing her back...my Shep doesn't actively think that, but deep down she kind of knows Kaidan is right. And Kaidan knows her enough to be right and he's right to be wary of her joining a terrorist organization. But I also think Kaidan was a jackass to not support her decision to help out the colonists when there was no other obvious way to help them.
Overall, I think Horizon was well done. It makes me happy that they have a tender moment, it makes me unhappy that Kaidan "abandons" her, but it would be unrealistic if he was just herp derp okay with it, like crimson said. So yeah, good things do come to those who wait. Hopefully.

@Crimson-- not actually an unpopular option.
Most
of us do feel that he was definitely in the right about Horizon. I
don't blame him even though he made me feel sad/upset because of course,
he's right and what the hell am I doing I'M GOING TO HIT TIM IN THE
FACE (and eat some chocolate pastries and hit TIM some more)
TIM does deserve a good kick in the balls. <_<
