Okay, on a happier note, say ME3 ended with both Shep and Kaidan alive. How would you guys like your Sheps to "settle down", if at all?

If BW actually gave me the ending I tried to play for, where Shep and Kaidan find each other alive after one mother of a ground/space battle, then I have a feeling that they would find a place high up in the mountains and have a very long and very well-deserved rest.

But I'm not getting my hopes up. :(

It makes the point of mid-game dlc completely pointless. Whats the point in giving us some great new planet to explore when no one will ever get to see it again after the relays go boom. What's the point in giving us a bunch of new team mates to bond with for them to either die or get stranded on the arse-end-off-nowhereia at the end.

Thanks to those ****** poor endings they've rendered all 3 games and the entire ME universe completely obsolete.

This is what has me banging my head off the desk - can they not see that?  That their 'endings' just kill the games dead?  What's the point playing when you get those endings, and the stupid 'tell me another story' sh*t?  Why don't they see that??  It's really bugging the hell out of me!  They're not stupid people, even if their collective heads are up their collective artistic arses at the moment.  So what's going on??  :pinched::pinched:

Cause Mass Effect 3 has cause my emotional state to jump all over the place, mainly the Kaidan Romance and the “endings”, I have decided to post my thought here to see if that helps me process it better, cause my family
and friends are not into games and they would most likely think I am crazy if I rant/talk to them, and if I eat anymore icecream I might be the size of a whale and I wanted to lose weight this year Thanks Bioware!<_<.......lol  So sorry it this is long and makes no sense.

Ok so I have seen how the other romances play out by watching videos on youtube, could never bring myself to romance anyone else or do a MShep play through, love Jennifer’s VA to much. Anyway, this is my opinion as why I believe the Kaidan Romance arc is one of the best and why I love it so much.

Note: I have only ever done a paragon romance/playthroughs so that is what I am basing this off of. Also if I reference some thing that did not happen in game, I am sorry, reading to many Shenko fics lately;)

The Kaidan romance is so sweet and full of emotions:):crying:<3:wub::o:crying::wub:. No other romance or character for that matter has made me cry as so much or care so much that it effects my daily life. In ME1 and ME3 he was there for Shepard, but not by asking how she was, but by saying things that Shepard needs to hear, by looking out for her and also just being there when Shepard needed someone to be there. Especially in ME3 he never really asks how Shepard is doing or feeling, Kaidan just knows Shepard well enough and cares for her so much that
he does not need to ask, he just knows when she needs him and what she needs to hear to help her get through it.

Horizon made me love and respect Kaidan even more: yes I am going there bare with me. Truth be told after the initial shock were off and I had time to think with a clear head, I was glad Kaidan reacted the way he did,  hell it showed how much he loves Shepard with how long it took him to realize that maybe his Shepard was really alive again (the email apology email in ME2), and even at the beginning of ME3 where he is a still a little unsure. I think he just wanted to make sure it was really truly her before he let his heart feel again, Rona already broke his heart once he did not want the same to happen with Shepard, he really truly loves her. I don’t mean to disrespect to the original crew that did join Shepard in ME2 but I truly think that Kaidan has always had Shepard’s back.

Ok so the endings,[/rant] I will only say the one thing cause it is Kaidan related and it is the one thing I have the biggest issue with, the scene where the Normandy crashes on a tropical planet…….that could never happen! There is no way in hell that anyone on the normany, especially Kaidan, would be running away/escaping during a battle. If there is one thing I am sure of about the Characters that Mass Effect created it is that in no way would they be doing that, they would be back on earth fighting like hell![/rant]

Ok I think I feel alittle better now, off to play through number 4 (all Kaidan mances:wub:……I am hopeless)

Good to see you feel better now. It's good to talk with someone, because the end of ME3 was a shock for many of us. What I like about the Kaidan romance is, it feels so real. Without doubt he loves Shepard

If you're referencing the one where they say they'll be "clarifying" things ... you know, for us poor dumb ole' boys and gals who can't be bothered to figure out their high falutin' art for ourselves ... then yeah.

It makes me want to get a picture of ****** Christ, photoshop out the crucifix and put a copy of ME3 in its place with the caption "BioWare's 'art' ... Yeah, pretty much like that"

Biotic babies!!!!!   :o

Seriously tho, just a shot of them together in a shattered London (sob, a place where I have spent many happy years...) with some kind of dialogue about rebuilding and restoring Earth would leave me in a happier place.  Tho tbh, having lived on ships and bases all her life, I suspect my Shep might have a bit of a steep learning curve ahead of her in the domestic goddess stakes!   I have this mental image of her about to change a dirty nappy, or in a kitchen, surrounded by the ingredients for some dish or other, beads of sweat on her brow, saying to herself 'I beat the Reapers, I can do this!'   :D:D

I could see them going to that beach all the squadmates seemed to be looking forward to. It would be one really long vacation. Then I could see Kaidan and Shep helping Tali with her home. After that, they'd probably fly around in the Normandy helping everyone. I can't see them just sitting around, but they'd probably try to keep the fighting to a minimum.

EDIT: Oh, yes, and babies. Lots of biotic babies.

Every little bit helps, because I really don't like multiplayer-
Well, no, I like it, it's just that I hate playing with randoms, but whenever I'm on and feel like MP none of my XBL or BSN buddies are online. And I'm too shy to just throw someone a message asking if they want to play.
That, and I'm pretty awful at MP, so I feel bad for my team whenever I try to play.

Dude, we tried to get you to play the other night, but noooo, you had a paper to write...

I'm pretty terrible at MP too.  (I just want my Turian sentinel back, dangit!  Why is it so hard to unlock him?) So we can be terrible together.  I'm definitely going to try to play more MP this week.  And my husband's out of town again for work again most of next week, so he can't yell at me for staying up until 2 am on the xbox.  Sounds like a win for everyone.  I'll start tossing out more invites.

Right there with you Lady, I don't like playing with random people and am really shy about just asking if someone wants to play.  Though the little I have played of multiplayer I have enjoyed.  Which was really surprising, because I don't normally like multiplayer.  Go figure.  Oh and I am not good at it either.

If you can put up with my loud bf and our occasional bickering ;) give me a shout, even if I'm on SP I'll come on MP. I'm not great either, my little boy doesn't give me much Xbox time but the evenings  are my time.

I'm DreadedChemGal on XBL and I promise we'll be nice :D

I feel exactly the same. Too shy to play with strangers, especially if they are hard core shooter types. I was so pathetic that I tried playing MP with no crew, just to see how it looks like. Of course, I fought from hiding, ran out of amo and was dead after 5minPosted Image .
If anyone is willing to give me a chance to get hold of the MP,  send me a request. My XBL tag is Viksi. I, too, have 2 small kids to keep me occupied during the day, but I can be there after 10pm PST almost any night.
And btw, I'm a total Kaidan-girl.

I'm not very good, but happy to MP with any of you - or you could look here for nice people to play with http://social.bioware.com/group/7080/

That's where I met up with the ladies I games with last night, and it was fun.  No-one yelling at you for getting dead, and happy to resurrect you!  It was like Charlie's Angels in Space!

My XBL tag is Lilaeth.

Oh, fun question!

Hmmm... I can't quite see Kate (Shepard) retiring after the war - not completely; the galaxy is in too much a mess and she'd feel too inclined to try and help sort out the pieces, and I think Kaidan would share that inclination. Just be out there and do some good, and such.

So, in the case of Kate, I think she'd essentially end up as a sort of glorified diplomat and end up working to keep all the alliances she brokered standing without someone deciding all out galactic war would be awesome. Having basically saved all organic life everywhere for all time, I think she'd be able to pull enough strings to have Kaidan along for the ride for most part.

Much like her mum before her, I think Kate'd try to stick to commanding her own starship for as long as possible, even past things like marriage, kids and all that. I think she'd be weirded out by not living in space, though I suspect Kaidan might eventually convince her to settle down and retire. You know, when they're old and such.

Also, while I can't draw to save suffering whales thus typically find myself denied the option of making fan art, someone earlier showed an example of a type of art I am capable of. And while my own attempts at it are somewhat awkward and rather lacking due to lighting, texture and other issues... this image contains Kaidan and makes me cheerful in spite of its flaws, so hey why not. Enjoy:

My canon femShep would be quite done with politics. She would instead desire to focus on aiding her allies that are stuck in the Sol system, possibly trying to find a feasible way to get them home. Kaidan would be tapped to be a teacher at a biotics school on Earth. Eventually they would start a family on the Alenko family orchard.

Even after I pretty much walked my husband through ME3, he still manages to kill Miranda and Steve. He finished the game yesterday and after explaining the end choices, he go for "Control" ... I asked him "Did you just listen to any word I just said?" He just chuckled and said "Whatever, I just want to screw over as many people as I can. Not like it matters anyway, all those endings suck."

He just started another playthrough because he wants to play as adept. He decided to romance Liara and kept Kaidan alive. Aww, Im so proud of him :P Babysteps, one at a time.

That's better than my husband--he's still trying to figure out how to move and fire, lol!

I told him to just stick to SW:TOR and asking me to log on my Commando to run him through stuff (when I'm not busy getting in my Kaidan-time of course!)

Hehe. My husband actually got me into gaming, introduced me to BioWare. he likes to play their games but he doesnt put as much thought and time into them as I do. He rather plays shooters like CoD or Battlefield. When I tell him about a scene I got that I really liked he is like "Why didnt I get that? I was there?" and my response usually is "Well, you usually should keep the person alive to meet them again in a later game." <_< Like Shiala and Wrex in ME2

I loved the idea of finding Kaidan after The Reapers had been defeated and having one massive hug and kiss xDPosted Image and then settling down eventually when they can and have finished saving the galaxy together. And of course have children together and yeah live happily ever after, that i'd love Posted Image
Really wish Bioware would make a DLC for people who want a happy ending so we could all experience it with Kaidan, Please Bioware! Posted Image

I think Kara would like to take part in the rebuilding process, but after that I think she'd be ready to retire. As much as the Alliance has been her home and her family since she was 18, enough is enough and it's time to go back to a peaceful occupation (like farming or something - Kara was a colonist). And given that the whole of the Earth has been nommed on by Reapers for a while, they're going to need farms and farmers up and running just so people can eat. So that's what Kara's going to want to get up to. Although considering she was a paragade she may get forced into some kind of an ambassadorial role ala Anderson. Kaidan would probably stick to training the biotics squads, he wouldn't be far from home but he'd still be helping. Eventually they would talk kids and because she grew up in a pretty average home Kara would be all for it. So there would be little brats in the picture. But not right away. Maybe 5 or 10 years down the road.

I think there should have been a better way to turn down any romantic interest before the date, that's clear to the player but not awkward.  That's a minor complaint, though, in the scheme of things.

And every romance is not for every player, it's cool.  That's why Steve Cortez is around.  :wizard:

I can definatly see my Shepard settleing down after the reapers are defeated. I think by the end of ME3 shes got to the point where shes running on willpower alone and a small part of her even thinks about giving up, especially after Thessia. (Although she would never allow herself to actually do so, too many people counting on her.) I think the events of the game probably played havoc with her emotions, seeing so many friends die, some of them close, millions of people suffering, feeling like shes responsible for saving them all but can't, not to mention Kaidan almost dieing on Mars, and herself almost dieing again on London.

Even though my Elaine Shepard is a spacer, the Alliance once ment everything to her, all these events will make her realise whats important to her. She'll probably get roped into helping with the diplomatic side of things for a while before Kaidan convinces her not to take the council position she gets offered, and that shes done enough for others, time to start living for herself. Shep and Kaidan will get married within a year and she'll join him in setting up a new biotic school on earth, although she'll still keep her alliance contacts open just in case Hacket might need her to save the galaxy again one day!

And yeah in my head the relays aren't destroyed and Kaidan and the Normandy definatlly didn't fly off and leave her alone. It was just the reapers making one last effort to break her will, putting imagines in her head, making her think shes lost and abandoned, but she overcomes them, thats why you see Kaidan smiling when he comes out the Normandy :D

The actor's name is Danny Pino and he was indeed on "Cold Case" (one of my favorite shows) as Scotty Valens. He has since moved over to "Law & Order".

I don't know if or when the Mass Effect movie will ever be made. I'm not sure if they even have someone in mind already to play Kaidan. But if that actor opens his mouth and I don't hear Raphael Sbarge's voice coming out of it I'm outta that theater!  Posted Image
