Glad to see someone else noticed that! I also took Kaidan and Garrus with me, and saw someone that really looked like Kaidan on the ground, but at that point I wasn't even thinking straight anymore (too afraid to see the endings after everyone else's reaction) and I'm not sure if it could really be him.. 

If it was him, it didn't look right because that's what I thought on my first playthrough - OMG! Kaidan!

I guess the only way to test it would be to put him in the different armors and run through it to see if the reaching figure has the same armor every time or changes to match him.

And, is the reaching figure there every time? And what happens if you take an all alien squad with you? If the reaching figure is STILL there and STILL looks like Kaidan, then we know that there are shenanigans.

Now I am really worried!! You can see the guy at around 1:05 in this video... can't tell for sure whether or not it's Kaidan though.

My first run got over 4,000 EMS which is enough for the guide to say Shep lives but enough for me to be rewarded with a gasp and I saw the figure.

My second run would theoretically see the gasp, but I have no heart to do the gauntlet run just to see the gasp.

I think that's Major Coats. I don't usually have Kaidan in my team but I get crawling guy anyway. Kaidan's armour looks a lot like the standard alliance armour so it's easy to get them mixed up.

I have Kaidan in one of the CE alternate armors, usually, and the figure on the ground doesn't change (from what I've seen).

Not ruling anything out, though, because nothing else in the ending makes sense.

I have played the ending 3 times now. The 3rd time was for experimenting I wanted to see if my 2 least favorite squadmates actually follow me down to the beam. I was running backward and actully walking LMAO! Beam never hits me. Then they stop at the top of the hill. You can walk up to them as many times as you want. They will NOT follow you down. The guy crawling on the ground is some random soldier. Next time you try to do an ending bring them with you and keep turning around. Watch when they stop following you. The laser never hit me and I was walking back and forth to them.

It's definitely not Kaidan, but I don't think it's Major Coats either, since he's the one who you can hear on the radio claiming that no one survived Harbinger's attack.

Yeah, I noticed that they won't follow even if you try to rally them to you!  It's weird! 

Glad to hear it isn't Kaidan because that was just one more thing that didn't make sense at the end if it were him reaching for you.  Anyway, was anyone else a little surprised by the lack of an "I love you" during the goodbye scene?  Or did I just miss them saying it?

My EMS was over 5,000 with 100% Galaxy Readiness, and I saw the guy on the ground and thought it was Kaidan, 20 minutes later he exited the Normandy smiling, and that's past the point where I was sure that absolutely nothing made sense anyway..

Ok so I'm not the only one that noticed that:wizard: Yea which makes me wonder about the ending when your running and the bright light hits you. Then from there I'm either knocked unconscious, hallucinating, Harby is trying to indoctrinate me, or dying. Thank you BW for clearing that all up<_<

Edit: I wasn't surprised when Kaidan doesn't say I love you but maybe that is because my ex was that way. Between the kiss and I can't loose you it's more of an action speaks louder than words sort of thing.

Wow, things have been happening since I was out and about yesterday. So Kaidan doesn't talk to you after Thessia at all? Because I haven't gotten there on my loyal playthrough. I thought some of the convos my Shepard has with Garrus were because he was her LI and it would be Kaidan in subsequent plathroughs. Like when your LI comes by after your mom dies in DA2. So no, not the case?

You know what I found odd? Kaidan doesn't once bring up Alliance Regs regarding the romance, which he seemed pretty concerned about in ME1. Even Joker and Vega make references (if you try to proposition them for a romance) in ME3, but not Kaidan. Why do you suppose that is?

Good point about actions speaking louder. Also, I'm wondering what Jessica Merizan was implying when someone tweeted about Ashley (their LI) stepping-off the Normandy at the end, and she replied that it was "something to be wary of". It will be interesting to see how everything plays out with the coming DLC.

Getting the war assets by doing those fetch quests are such a chore. I gave up trying to get the highest war asset without MP which would be 7000+. I just gave up on it. Although I was so close to getting to 7000 in SP, but darn you EMS you cut it into half! So I just give up on it and just take the ending as it is... *sigh*

Haha, that's exactly what I thought when he kissed her when saying goodbye. My mom (who was sitting behind me) noticed that he clearly didn't care if there were people around. I like that. 

And no, I haven't seen one person get teh breathing scene w/o MP. Actually, someone looked into the files on PC and said that there aren't enough war assets available to get that scene...(it was posted on another thread)

That was also my thought, he was willing to break Regs to be with Shepard before, so I don't think it really concerns him anymore.

I've heard people say that it isn't possible to get your EMS over 4000 without increasing the readiness rating. But I've heard some contradicting stories about whether or not it needs to be over 4000 to get the breathing scene.

No, it's not possible. You can't get 8000 war assets in SP, no matter what choices you make. I believe the total is somewhere around 7,600 (3,500 EMS will save Earth). I barely managed 7,200 in SP, doing every sidequest, scanning every planet, importing throughout the three games, allying the Turians and Krogan and Quarians and Geth. 
If you meta game the entire trilogy, I think the total you can get is 7,600 assets. In order to do so, you need to keep the Collector Base, kill Wrex, lie to Wreav, destroy Mealon's data, kill Mordin, and a ton of other small decisions.

And yes, you do need at least 4,000 to get the breathing scene, no matter if you kept or destroyed the Collector Base.

I know  I really wanted to see some reactions, not just then but throughout the entire game. Like DA:O, I loved the little side conversations from people like Bann Teagan or Wynne (Wynne had the best banter!) regarding your romance. In my head, I make up a lot of little squad banters like that.

I tried and failed with my first playthrough, which is the real reason I did a second run with the same Shepard. I don't think it's possible without MP, or maybe a gibbed save edit. That 50% galactic readiness screws everything up.

I also tested the thing with your squadmates following you down the hill in the final run, and they won't, no matter what. They always stop and just stand there, well back from the laser. And I examined every body after Shep gets up from being knocked out. I never saw bodies for Kaidan, Garrus or Vega (Kaidan/Garrus on first run, Kaidan/Vega on second).
