I noticed the lack of concern as well and it really bothered me b/c it's a 180 from how he was in ME. Yeah, war changes people, I understand that more than most, but I doubt it would change him to the point that he only worries about Shepard half the time. Also, why wasn't there an "I love you" during the goodbye scene?

You mean the goodbye before the final assault ? He does say he loves Shepard. Well not litterally, but he says he's going to fight like hell to have the chance to hold Shepard again. And as she goes, Kaidan grabs her, kiss her and tells her he can't lose her again. I don't know, I thought that the way he kisses her in front of all the other soldiers - so openly breaking the "secrecy" of their fraternisation - was worthing it. He loves her, they maybe are going to die, and he doesn't give a **** abour regs anymore. Actually I found it even more romantic that if he had whispered a shy "I love you".

The only moment I wished he had made a comment is when Shepard tells Legion to stop their vehicle to let her fight the reaper on Rannoch - alone. And Kaidan is sitting just behind Legion, patiently waiting without saying anything. That really bothered me :?

*snip*

Yeah, I had said that I agree his actions speak louder than his words at that point.

In regards to Rannoch - I noticed that as well, there were a number of instances where he just kinda sits back and someone else (i.e. Liara on Thessia) helps you up or something.  I think it probably has to do with certain missions being character-centric.  Still, with him being your LI you would think they could have accounted for that in those situations but oh well.

Yeah, I kept wondering why it was always someone else helping me scramble back up when I was danlging off a cliff or something and no one ever commented on me facing down the reaper mano e mano.

I guess the characters who help you are always the ones who have to be on the mission with you, and they just didn't want to pay for the extra lines it would take to have every voice actor and writer come up the necessary dialogue to have someone on the team voice some reservations because if Kaidan isn't there to do it, someone else would have to.

Another thing I'll just have to headcannon.

I do wish that all the hinted at intimate Shep/Kaidan moments didn't happen off screen though. I can't imagine there wasn't a post-Thessia moment. I know I have a nice one going in my head Posted Image. It's just too bad they couldn't be bothered to at least put those dialogues into the game.

Or no one cares about regs since, well, giant machines are invading and committing mass genocide.

Yeah, most of Anderson's force isn't exactly trained military as much as desparate survivors. I'm guessing there are quite a few of those moments like Shep's and Kaidan's. Besides, seeing your "Big Gorram Hero" being thoroughly kiss might just be a morale booster. That is why Shep is walking the lines. Posted Image

 Ok, so am FINALLY
caght up with the pages:

1]  the regs/romance
thing: I think that with the War to End all Wars happening, people won’t care
as much. I mean, Kaidan and Shep could be dead soon, so why the hell not? I
also like to think that Anderson see himself in Shep, and that her romance with
Kaidan kinda mirrors his with Sanders and Firgured they need to say goodbye
because he never got to.

2] Where it Ends for me:
until the DLC announced/Avalable I mantain that form the Beam on is brought
on by shock and bloodloss. [ i don’t belive in the indoc theory]  Shep is currently still alive and buried in
London, no matter what ending i get. She has too much riding on her and will
not give up.

3] Shenko songs: I recently bought Poets of the Fall new
Albem and the Song Cradled in love reminds me very much of Shenko, what they’ve
been though, prepareing for the fact one of them might not make it to the
end...@ Hayleym103 wow, nice to see another Poets Fan...

4] IGN: ..one word –Douchebags.<_<

@ Kyria Nyriese Yup that's what I said. They're being discreet, but in the end, he don't care about it anymore, he just want to tell her he loves her *sigh*. Kaidan has always been more romantic than Shep :)

So, on a slightly random note, I've been listening to my music a lot more since ME3 (helps to make me feel better) and I've found that the song Syndicate really goes with Shep and Kaidan's romance in ME3. Have you guys found any songs recently that really fit the relationship?

Listened to that song and really like it, never heard of them before either, bookmarked for future listening :)

Listening to alot of music myself too, alot of it seems to remind me of Kaidan and Shepard, but then I seem to be thinking of mass effect alot recently.

No End, No Beginning "And this is one sacrifice I don't want to make but if theres no end there can be no beginning. If theres no end, feels like forsaking the dawn, we awaken and still we don't see, but I'm secretly grateful you're living this moment with me." Not Kaidan specific but Its by my favourite band, listened to this after I finished the game, trying to convince myself Shepard's sacrifice was worthwile.

When Shepard gaze at Kaidan's picture in the end of ME2, I Go to Sleep from The Pretenders always ring in my ear.

Invicible of Muse reminds me a lot of Shep and Kaidan too, especially the end of the love scene, when Shepard seems to doubt, and Kaidan comforts her.

Edit :

I don't think no one cares about regs anymore.
They are soldiers. That comes with rules of the community. Err, I don't know how to say it in english I'm afraid. Hell, I'm not sure I could explain it in my native langage either :pinched:But what I mean is, it's like the rule of the captain who have to be last leaving the ship you know ?
Even more when everything is going to hell, they have to stick to the rules to maintain some cohesion, even in the worse moments, even if they're going to die.
I am not sure I made my point

Aye, the silence/disappearance of the second squadmate on missions where another one is required is a bit jarring. Or... general silence of squadmates? But maybe that's just me imagining things. Could've at least let the second squadmate come walking with Raan or something, instead of mysteriously disappearing.

As for London... For some reason I quickly got it stuck in my brain that someway off to the side is some of Kaidan's students going "Woha, check out major Alenko and commander Shepard!" during that kiss.

Yeah, they can get court martialled after the Reapers die. ;) In a case like that, since Kaidan is the superior officer, wouldn't he get hit harder by charges?  But then, they're not really in the same chain of command, so would it matter?

They're white knighting for BW.  After all, if the fans can get the endings changed, then they can make it canon that IGN's self-insert avatar Chobot Allers was the only being to have ever been thrown out the airlock by a Prothean.

You mean we can't space Allers?  Good thing I only let her on my ship once.  I would have loved to have spaced her.  Bloody war asset... *wonders off grumbling about the stupid, reporters, war assets, MP and iPad apps /grumble...

Spectres can get away with a lot worse than fraternization, so not sure if that's much of a concern. I felt like it was more about acting professional while on missions than about hiding it.

I'm at 4090 EMS. I have played MP 3 times, lost 2 won 1. My MP character is like...level 5. Not much help there. I do have the iPhone datapad app, mainly for the messages. But I managed to get my Galactic Readiness up to 62% with it. Not alot really. Mainly I've been scanning everything, doing every single side quest, stopping at every single conversation on the citadel and examining every single datapad and console on missions.

I also prior to restarting this time, went back to my post game ME2 save, and spent a bit of time running laps around the tech lab/ CIC/ Armory and talking to Kelly until we had dinner. Mainly because I wanted my damned FISH back! But it turned out that if you do dinner, talk to her at the citadel, get her to change her name and hair etc to hide from Cerberus, talk to her I think after the coup, and again after a major plot point (don't quote me, just keep trying til you get there) she'll tell you that your advice saved her life and you get some assets from her as well.

hi kaidan fans. i'm coming to you with questions the wiki does not appear to answer.

1) does kaidan ever mention his father or mother's names?

2) does kaidan ever mention his father's military ranking prior to retirement?

i'm thinking no, but wanted to check with other dedicated watchers-of-the-major

Not that I'm aware of. Only that his father went back to fight on Earth after seeing that his mother was safe and was MIA, presumed KIA.

It gets easier to MP. Just stay bronze, try to identify someone who looks like they know what they're doing and stick to their six as much as you can.

I may play some MP matches tonight - DesiF on PC Origin. I stay bronze, so aee if you can drop in.

Im running my faithful Shep at the moment and id like some perspective on the citadel coup.

Do you guys let Shepard shoot Udina or do you have Kaidan do it ? Also, whats your take on the 'integrity' conversation just before he asks to comeback on the Normandy in either case?

Im starting to think I'd reather have him do it. It kinda shows he's ready to be a spectre and I dont like that he questions Shep's integrity jsut before asking to go with her. Or maybe im not understanding something...

I let him take the shot, I'm running my more paragade Shepard through right now, and I think I'm going to have her take the shot.  But on my canon Shepard, I definitely let Kaidan take the shot.

Though I did have to go back and reload the save before it, because I twitched when the renegade option to shoot Udina came up.

I accidently took the shot, and didn't feel like reloading. Shep knows how much Kaidan already questions himself, and it seemed like something that would haunt him...so she took the burden instead.

I don't think he's questioning Shepards integrity either way, rather his own. He doubted her, at that very moment...and believed in Udina. And at the end of that convo, he does say He'll never doubt Shepard again, so I think he's questioning his own actions not hers.

I think I took the shot. But in my head, it was a very dramatic dual-biotic-combo takedown. There were showers of sparks as Kaidan and Shepard started making out over Udina's corpse.

Um... not really.

also, thank you for responses and answers. back to lurking elsewhere... :bandit:

My first Shep, Kelly, took the shot so Udina would stop interfering with things. She's impatient that way.

My second Shep, Zaira, is more patient and let things play out. She never thought she would be in any danger from Kaidan, and if Udina tried anything ... well, that's what she has a squad for and Kaidan.

I'm not sure yet what Jade will do or Aili.

Thanks for the answers !

Killing Udina isnt a big deal. I really like the paragon interrupt in that scene wher you lower your weapons and Kaidan sides with Shep.
Its just the 'integrity' convo that bugs me to no end. But letting Kaidan get the shot avoids the bulk of the problem. I guess by that point Im a bit tired of Kaidan telling Shep he cares for her and at the same time questioning her.

I just want them to go back to working together and supportive conversations like during ME1! Specially now that he's a Spectre too, he should take a bigger role on the Normandy. I want to discuss with him how hard it is to make those 'grey' decision.

I guess I have a big list. Lets see how it turns out (endings aside. I hate those.)
