Kaidan and my Shep after the end (if the current end is ignored):
I personally think my Shep would help with the rebuilding efforts as much as she could after she recovers from her injuries, but will probably never truly return to full active duty. She's tired and I think she's earned a rest, though she might end up getting dragged into politics, if only so another Udina doesn't rise up to fill the vacuum and so she can keep her friends' governments from tearing each other apart. As much as we would all like to see some biotic babies, I think my Shep would end up adopting kids from the war orphans she finds across the galaxy as it rebuilds. Having lost her parents violently herself at 16 (Colony kid) she knows what these kids are going through and how to help them through it. Kaidan and Shepard would of course get married asap, something small and informal with the Normandy crew invited of course.
On Kaidan and Carth:
I can see why the voice reminds people of Carth when they meet Kaidan, but honestly other than that the two couldn't be more different. I remember playing KoTOR fpr the first time in that long dry spell between ME2 and ME3 to somehow have new experiences with "Kaidan", even if it was just his voice. This actually ended up making me miss him even more as they sounded so similar but while Kaidan was calm and understanding, Carth was rash and quick to judge. I'm not bashing Carth, I still loved him and his romance arc, it's just that he's no Kaidan.
On Kaidan/Ashley hate:
I can understand not liking characters, but why does mentioning religion once and saying that you're wary of aliens on a human vessel make you a xenophobic zealot? I mean I'm not very religous (read: not at all religous) but I never felt that Ashley pushed her faith on me, in fact she was very polite and cautious about even mentioning it. And about the xenophobia, it's basically half of the conversation you can have with Pressley and never gets resolved except in a DLC later, but noone calls him racist. So why would they do that to someone who actually gets over it in the course of the main game? Especially after Ash calls out Terra Nova for being racist a-holes. And all the Kaidan hate? Well you guys addressed that better than I could, guys probably feel intimidated that this is the ideal women have about potential partners. Honestly, maybe all the haters just never talked to them because there were shiny new aliens on the board too.
About Kai Leng:
Eff him. I started hating him after he killed Thane. This got worse after he took me down on Thessia with his plot armor even though Liara's Singularity+ Combat Drone Rockets+ Overload+ Incinerate= Instadeath. But the blinding rage I felt when he's mentioned didn't start up until his trolling e-mail. I mean the first few lines I still thought it was an asari talking about the evacuation, but by the end of it I was spitting nails and ready to wring his scrawny little cybernetic neck. >=(
About the Mako:
I loved scaling mountains and running over geth. I even loved taking out thresher maws!
About Kaidan Taking the Shot:
Honestly, the first time around I felt the adrenaline slow down time for me as I processed all the scenarios in my brain, mostly ending up with a councilor's death by Udina unless I took the shot right then. I didn't even realize Kaidan would do it until coming to the boards post-game. After reading all the comments on that moment though I agree that I wouldn't want Kaidan to feel guilty over it, but feel that the character development for him is more important. Still once the rush wore off it felt freaking good to finally get a chance to shoot the lying snake.
Okay, that's it for my massive catch up post, I can die of exhaustion now.
