Why did you choose your Sheps to cheat anyway?
The end of ME2 is so cute when she looks at his picture before going to the base. I never could let Shep hook up with anybody else.
It makes the romance all the better in 3 as well.

I'll be honest, I loved the akwardness of the romance with Garrus. Mostly because it's how me and my husband dated for 3 years <_< I also adore Thane. He's a mature adult with a shady history, and he's at the end of his life.

That being said, Kaidan is amazing, sweet, funny, sexy. I think there was a pic a few pages back that describes him perfectly: the perfect man, too bad he's pixelated:unsure:

Also, excuse any spelling errors: too many beers

I shared that romance article with a friend of mine who romanced Ash. He got so mad at what the author wrote about Ash that he stopped reading. I was like, "Seriously? We get that hate for Kaidan ALL THE TIME."

I like Ash. I don't understand why people hate the VS in general. But you know what? In the end, I don't care what anyone thinks about Kaidan...his romance (and romance scene) was perfect. I honestly think that Kaidan's was the best romance scene in ME3. It definitely made up for all the lack of Kaidan dialogue in the game.

I loved the romance scene. Honestly though, I feel like there was just enough Kaidan content in the game to keep me happy. Yeah, I wish we could have talked to him (and all squaddies) with the dialogue wheel more often but I really liked all the dialogue we got with the hospital scenes. They fleshed out his character a lot more, and the scenes with him were so good that I'm okay that they were small in number.

I feel the opposite about Ash though. I feel like she didn't get enough dialogue. period.

Hey all! I just dropped in to say hello to my fellow Kaidanites. I haven't been here since before the game......

It was a lovely romance.

*sigh*

I'll check back later. I need to go.

The humans tend to be my favorites as well just because they're the most relatable. (To me, anyways, and not just because they're humans) They've got believable emotions, and are more than just skin deep.

Not saying the aliens aren't good characters as well, but sometimes i just feel like there's not as much to them, a bit more straightforward.

I tried romancing Garrus and Thane - while Thane's appealed to me, Garrus just felt too much like trying to make out with my own brother. Something I have never, thankfully, attempted to do. Even though the scenes were sweet - and cutely awkward - I just felt uncomfortable the whole time. Finally, I gave up and went back to Kaidan. No one else feels as right as he does.

Interesting - on the topic of emotions, renegade Shep was just listening in to Adams and Chakwas debating whether synthetic life can be as alive as organic life. Officer Circles was pretty interested in joining in...

I prefer the human squadmates as well. I see it as similar to my prefering men as a straight female. It doesn't mean I don't like women, it just means I prefer men. Prefering the human squadmates doesn't mean I don't like the alien ones (except maybe Javik, he gives me the creeps), I just like the human ones better, particularly as LIs.

Hm. I've been rewatching some of my cutscenes from ME1 and ME2, and I gotta say, Shep goes through an odd form of character development. Usually, we see characters go from being kinda fun, loose, and naive, to coming out as well rounded, reformed, more serious beings. Yet, when comparing some of the stuff from ME1 to ME3, it feels (to me at least) that Shep took an odd road backwards in that regard.
She/he starts off very professional and aloof/stoic in ME1, regardless of Paragon or Renegade. Yet by ME3, we've got a much more emotional, open, less professional acting character. Wonder why that is? Anyone else notice that, or is it just me?
It's almost a bit jarring to go back to ME1.

I love my femsheps but I feel like my Maleshep is the most complex. He's a renegade, a complete dick but there is some good underneath everything. For example, he saved Wrex but not the genophage research. Therefore, he can't convince Mordin not to go through with the cure in ME3. He tells Mordin that he's going to stop him and Mordin walks towards the elevator. He raises his gun to shoot but he can't do it, feeling an attachment to Wrex and Mordin. Instead, Mordin cures the genophage but he lives with knowing that he almost stopped it and he hates being showered with praise as some hero to the Krogan.

I feel like he's transformed the most from pure renegade with no friends to someone who cares about his shipmates but is still a jerk most of the time. He now wrestles more with decisions that were once black and white to him.

Still it annoys me that he will get the same ending as my paragon femshep and paragade femshep. Ugh, every time I go back to the stupid endings. I hate this.

I always saw that as Shepard loosening up over time from professional military to the hero of the galaxy who just had to be a little human from time to time to keep it all together.

Kind of like the locker romance scene where Shepard cracks her shell for a moment, long enough to let the love interest in - as Shepard goes through increasingly nasty situations (like, I don't know....dying) he/she becomes more and more a human being with limits and less and less the machine like hero he/she is almost forced to be.

I did too. I feel like he gets angrier at you in ME1 when you are flirting with him and Liara than he gets at you when you actually cheat on him.
I was expecting a "I'm not going back on Normandy until you break up with him" or "I refuse to date you ever again" or a fight...

He doesn't even say anything if you cheat on him with Jacob and take him(K) with you to meet Jacob...

Kaidan does ask you in a conversation afterward.  But he's quite professional while on the misson.  He says that Jacob seemed like a nice guy and at least it was nice to see that "you hadn't thrown me over for a Volus accountant.". I think there was a little jab at you there.  But he was really trying to be nice and understanding.  Not a jealous lunatic.  I was a little disappointed but mostly glad that they didn't pull Kaidan out of character just to make drama.  I think it touched me so much when there he was, recovering from a near-death experience in the hospital and yet he's so very sweet, kind and understanding about my alt (not my canon) Shepard's fling.  The poor guy seems to take the majority of the blame upon himself.
How can people NOT love this guy?  <3<3

@Shepard's change in character: I've taken it a testament to how the entirety of the Reaper situation being placed upon her shoulders has worn her down almost to the point of breakdown. And we see that in her in ME3. I felt it in ME2, particularly after Horizon and Arrival. I even wrote a fic (still have to finish it grrr...) about her being forced to take some R&R after ME2 and the emotional breakdown she has. (of course Kaidan is in it).
Anyways, I was actually glad to see them show that the situation is taking a toll on her. That she is human. And especially that her friends are there supporting her. That's a big thing that I felt was missing in ME2. I felt like no one gave a flying fig about her.

I don't think a very angry, jealous confrontation was necessary when it came to love interest conflicts. I mean it would have been amusing, but it's been done many times before in TV, movies, and hell even other video games like DA:O. (Remember Alistair's sudden quip?)

If the team decided to go that route I would have been like ... really?

Personally, I liked the more professional, do-it-with-overwhelming-love-and-kindness route. It made Kaidan's love ... more true and genuine. And I think that's why I liked the dinner scene so much because his lines and everything that he says just feels so real.

ME seems, IMO, to have more of a serious, sophisticated view on the romances (except maybe a few in ME2). The chatacters act much more mature and professional with the situation as opposed to a lot of DA:O. Which makes sense - ME's characters are all battle-hardened, mostly military background soldiers. DA:O was a younger, more naive ragtag bunch of misfits. The Warden, if I recall, was only around the age of 20 ish.

I like both games' romances, but I think jealousy and bitterness would be a bit out of place in ME. I'm glad the writers *mostly* stayed away from that.

About Kaidan's lack of dialogue after the Thessia mission
I think he tried to leave Shepard alone
because in my head cannon, he knew that if he talk to her
She will pissed and punch him right to his face
he tried to distract her that they will kick Kai Leng's ass hard
cut his head and sell it to Krogan
*sigh* at least I got nice cutscene with Garrus and Joker <_<
anybody pick a renegade option when to talk to Liara after her fight with Javik?

But I don't want him to take all of the blame.  I was the one with the Drell in my quarters, after all.  I should have at least a little 'splainin' to do.  Plus it was a whole lot more than a fling, in my mind.  At least I got Kaidan back, in the end.  That's the important thing.

I'm not saying that Alistair's quip with the Warden was out of place at all. I thought it fits into his character, him being awkward and all. Actually thought it was cute. But gameplay wise, sometimes once I got this weird dialogue loop in DA where he or Zevran or Lelianna would say the same jealousy lines over again and again. So gameplay-wise, the "jealousy" part can be annoying.

The use of jealousy fits with some characters, but now reaching out to mature audience, I think the jealousy confrontation can be taken out of future Bioware romance subplots. Instead they can make subtle quip about it like Kaidan did about Jacob. Those little subtle things can go a long way if you ask me because not all human personalities are confrontational. I think Bioware can bring more variety now when it comes to characters. If ME3 proved anything is that Bioware knows how to make a character compelling.

And whenever I revisit that dinner date scene, you know where Kaidan holds Shepard's hand and lay it on his cheek, that is so cheesy yet so darn cute. I wonder how long he planned that out. I bet he planned that dinner for hours. Not to mention the scene before the Cerberus headquarters. So cute. <3

See, but I wanted that option to just tell him to go away (or talk to him). If you've played DA2, there is a scene when your LI comes to comfort you and you can talk to them or tell them to go away.
And my main problem with the no dialogue after Thessia is that he mentions Liara and act as if she is the only one depressed there. Like everyone else. <_<
My Shep is paragon, so I've never picked renegade after Thessia...

Kaidan is such a sweetheart. Posted Image I can definitely imagine him planning that dinner date, wondering whether she would take him back. I also picture him sitting at that table for a good twenty minutes before Shepard planned to arrive just to make sure everything was perfect.

And the romance scene! Swoon! "I lied...I didn't come up here for a quick drink." He definitely had something up his sleeve. Posted Image

The only thing I didn't like about that scene was how...distracted Shepard was. I hated that she was kind of brushing him off for a bit. But I loved that Kaidan was so insistent on staying. Posted Image

I really wish that there is a cutscene that similar to locker scene in me1
I was really pissed that almost everyone talked about Liara that how devastated she was
because her homeworld is destroyed
Come on, my shep who is earthborn got her homeworld screwed up first
did I mention about Kaidan's parents were on earth?
Edit: whooops TOP Kaidan
