Seriously, even Joker has a special dialogue after Thessia?? *sighs*

That one really bugged me, surely if my Shep is under that much pressure she should be able to talk to Kaidan about it? Image IPB

Yeah. :( I had to fanfic it because it bugged me so much. Even ASH gets all worried over Shep - she brings up Liara, but she has a nice long 'it's okay Skipper' moment too.

They should switch Ash and Kaidan's lines then cause I can totally see Ashley talking about kicking Kai Leng's ass. Also, what he says after Miranda's mission is just weird. He gets this murderous tone and it isn't like him at all. I really don't know what's up with it cause he goes back to being Kaidan in the love scene.

Just weird.

Are we less special than the other LI fans? Have we not waited for a whole game to get Kaidan back?  Image IPB

But you know that nobody likes Kaidan. Image IPB  It's totally OOC for Kaidan not to show any concern for Shepard after Thessia.   The only LI's who matter are Liara because bioware loves her, and Garrus because supposedly everyone loves himImage IPB  Ash was lucky that she got a line, lol.

damn it....top *refuses to snip*

You're completely right about being OOC for Kaidan. I liked the convos with Garrus and Liara but Kaidan was the guy who went through Eden Prime, Jenkins' death and Ash's death with Shep. Even if he wasn't Shep's LI (which he so was!) even as a friend he would be concerned.

He really doesn't say anything after Thessia?  I haven't gotten to that point on my replay.  If he doesn't, I call bull.  He is my Shep's bro, and he'd at least take her out for steaks to get her mind off the epic suck that is the universe.

At least the ending fiasco has gifted me with headcanoning powers.  Silver lining to everything, right? :pinched:

Nope just some random phrases but nothing meaningful and definitely not a convo like you get with Garrus or Liara - epic fail Bioware!

Well Casey Hudson did say he wanted to leave things open to everyone's imagination........?

Basically he's worried about Liara and all he says is something to the effect that now they know Kei Lengs dirty tricks they'll be ready for him next time and make him pay. But no comfort for Shepard, unfortunately.

This is going to sound kind of horrible, but I honestly wasn't as upset about Thessia as the game seemed to think I should be.  I was pissed about Leng, but that's meta because he's a poor excuse of a villain who's obnoxious rather than scary.

So Thessia fell.  Big whoopdy doo.  Earth, Dekuuna, Irune, and Palaven had already fallen to the Reapers.  Was I really supposed to be more upset about the asari homeworld than my own?  I felt bad for Liara, but that was about it.

I get what you're saying, it's shouldn't be any more upsetting than the others. I guess it was more that Shepard felt like s/he'd failed and for the characters to see that the answer was just at hand only to have it snatched away by ninja ballerina. Image IPB

I think Shep upset because at that point she fears that they are going to lose against the reapers because of Cerberus - because they lost the info on the Catalyst. Not especially because of Thessia.

Me too.  Through the convo with Liara afterwards all I could think was 'my ****g planet's already in flames, suck it up, Ninjamancer!'.

Sorry, but the Asari seem to bring out the Krogan in me!  :P

About to start another ME3 playthrough, this time with no import from the earlier games.  Now, let me see, who shall I romance......  :innocent:

My Shepard was a bit PO'd at the Asari over the fact they had a working Prothean beacon for centuries and kept that knowledge a secret.  Image IPB

What is it that Liara's "dad" says in ME2, the asari should spend less time dancing on tables and more time training as commandos?

@Phoenix NL - I would agree with Liara's dad. If, as we're led to believe, they were singled out by the Protheans for special advancement, many of them seem to be wasting their time and talents working in the rather more 'dubious' industries!

Not to mention hiding that beacon.  Grr!

That annoyed me greatly, you think the Asari would have mentioned the beacon before the Reapers decided to attack thier homeworld. Bought it on themselves really which sounds harsh but they could have prevented it especially since everyone else was buliding the crucible (which they thought to be prothean design).

I took Liara's reaction as somewhat of an overly emotional teenager might react.. dont forget she's like 106 yrs old and even though in earth years thats hella old.. She's essentially just hit her teens in Asari age heh....

Plus i think the drama wasnt so much that Thessia fell, more that Shepard suffered her first real defeat in any of these games.. least thats the way I took it all..

Serious question and sorry if I'm being dense here but the Asari have had this beacon for millenia yes? They've used information from said beacon to keep their own society ahead of the game. So why did they never get the warning of the Reapers or know about the destruction of the Protheans? Was this just the fluffy bunny beacon? They somehow have managed to understand enough from the beacon to become super-advanced but only Shepard's cipher can unlock the vision?? *confused*

Same here. I cared more about Legion dying on Rannoch than I did about Thessia falling. It's horrible that their planet got destroyed but really, they had a means to prevent it and Shepard was telling the council for ages about the Reapers and the beacons. Oi. It might just be my slight dislike of the Asari talking XD
I was wondering though, if Bioware was planning to make DLC but there was a comment made somewhere that it wouldn't involve events before or after ME or ME3... when exactly are they happening? The timeline doesn't really work post-ME/pre-ME2 because Shepard is dead and post ME2/pre-ME3 Shep is stuck under house arrest  I'm all for DLC involving Kaidan though! Besides the ending DLC of course, like a mission with him and his biotic squad.

*cough* and slightly related: Shenko fic :D

I couldn't care less about Thessia or the asari but I think it was Shepard's first real defeat and with so much riding on it it would have been nice if Kaidan, her LI, had given her some comfort or support. I would have preferred a pep talk from Kaidan than from Garrus.

Yeah, that's the way to look at it.  I just have very little patience with Liara - just as well I don't have children, if that's what I'd have to deal with when they hit their teenage years!

we spoke to a Dev the other night.. there's defo going to be some sort of announcement soon... after all Dr Ray did say they'd announce something this month... I imagine they are going to be inundated with end game questions... will be interesting to see how it all plays out.. I look forward to hearing about it from those of you who attend
