I'm actually a little afraid they will kill my ability to headcanon away the crappy ending.  I mean, right now I can live with it, if I pretend Shepard gets knocked out by Harbinger and everything else never happened.  If they go out of their way to prove all that other crap was real....   I'll go cry in a corner.

I'm a little late to the game 'cause I've been working, but I just read the announcement, and I feel so sick to my stomach.  At least, with the current ending, I can headcanon what happens to my Shep and Kaidan. But if they start explaining it, like they're implying they're going to do, I'm afraid it'll just ruin it for me.  *sigh* And I was just getting over the endings...

We understood the ending.  It was crappy.  It was disingenuous.  We want it completely redone.

No, this was always the best they were going to do...it's why they're still using the term 'artistic integrity' to define sticking with the current ending. The damage has been done. ME3 will never be a best selling game, the public/internet outcry has been too great and in too many corners of the web the game ending is now considered a joke. People who don't play video games know that the ending to ME3 is a mess. To salvage what they can, Bioware/EA must do something but it will be minimal effort/cost. Hence cutscenes with clarification...most likely epilogue boxes...rather than gameplay or storybuild.

And to be frank, Mac Walters does not have the writing skills necessary to fix everything that is wrong with the ending. I expect that the clarification they offer will be...poor.

Ehh. You know, their clarification of the endings could help out the game a lot. I'm not saying I like the endings, but if anything they add can make me feel even a bit more satisfied I'll be happy. We just have to wait until this summer to see, I guess.

I just think I dont have a guts to watch this "extended" ending. Not extended one was enough to break my heart, I dont want to go through it all over again.

I'm just going to watch the DLC on youtube. I don't see a point in getting it when its just fleshing out the current endings so people have "more closure". All I see it doing it just giving us a few more cutscenes as to why Shepard and the crew are all screwed in the end.

Thanks Bioware but no thanks. Without added options to the ending all you are doing is adding more fuel to the flame. Right now I just see people on here getting further ticked off by this.

I won't be here in the summer. It's been fun playing 1 & 2 and parts of 3 and talking to you guys but as soon as I start getting bored of MP (which is starting to happen now), I'm off to pastures new. I'm pretty sure Bioware are hoping people will stick around in order 'to see what happens' with the 'expansion' of the endings and hoping, in the meantime, you'll all buy the dlc but once I'm over it, I'll be over it. No going back.

I'm going to remain cautiously optimistic for now, hoping that Bioware really understands why fans were upset with the ending and not just doing this as a PR "look we gave fans free ending DLC and they're still upset" move.  I'm a bit annoyed that they keep saying "some" people wanted more closure like we aren't a big group, but obviously we're big enough where they even need to give us free DLC so whatever.  As Kaidan would say, "It's going to be what it is."

i`m sorry Bioware but its not enough for me to hold onto my copy of me3 forever, in fact I want to throw it out of air lock, because I paid for a game that broke my heart.

Yeah I mean that's pretty much the only option unless Shepard somehow rematerializes in the other endings.  Too bad you have to kill the geth and EDI and kind of screw over the Quarians to get that though.

Shepard being reunited with the crew was never an issue for me. I write fanfic. I can fix that problem myself and within ten minutes of finishing the game had a solution that works within the game's storyline. It's the worldbuild that has been damaged that I have issues with. The nonsensical reason for the Reapers existence. The destruction of the mass relays...while I understand why they would do it from a writer's POV...they really didn't think through the consequences of how to do it. The catalyst that comes from nowhere and is destroyed just as quickly. The clear improbability of the crucible being created the way it was.

There are far more problems with the ending than just Shepard dying or being alone.

Ugh, this news just ruined my day. Seriously, I've come to terms with my Shepard dying, but why oh why did the Normandy have to land on that garden planet? I don't want or need an explanation. I want for my Shepard's breath to mean that she's really alive and for the Normandy's crash landing to be all a dream.

I doubt they'll do anything LI-related since they dropped the ball with most of the ME2 LI's. But as long as they get the Normandy back to Earth, I can easily headcanon a happy reunion between Kaidan and Shepard.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see what the DLC will entail, but at the moment I have a feeling we're just in for some more disappointment.

I'm not sure how to feel about this "Extended Cut" I want to stay optimistic because Bioware has been good to us in the past, but this 'Clarification' thing they keep mentioning is scaring me. All I know is that I will be the sacrificial lamb this summer and play it to report back to guys if need be. I'm of the mind that they can't screw it up worse and who knows, maybe we'll play it and start singing Bioware's praises again. If they somehow do screw it up I'll make sure to warn everyone.

Personally I think they made the announcement today less because of EA's "Worst Company of the Year" award like Forbes is suggesting and more so that the Bioware crew won't get lynched tomorrow. This offer soothes the less outraged of us and makes others less sympathetic to those still angry. Still, it's going to be an interesting panel...

Agreed. God Toddler also hinted that Shepard would die there due to her synthetics, yet she was fine. I call BS.

True.  I don't believe the little frak either.  He also implied that Shepard would die due to being partially synthetic--which she doesn't.

I don't have hope for good endings at this point.  But at the very least if my Shepard can life out her life with Kaidan (into old age) working on rebuilding the galaxy together I will be content enough to be able to play the game again.

As it stands now, I cannot play it again.  Not with the ending how it is.

Also... think of how many other Cyborg-type things are walking around.  The salarians use implants to speed up their brain processing power, the quarians use synthetic implants to interface with their suits...

Are they all dead, too?  In which case, why the hell did we bother with Rannoch?
