I just don't know how they can clarify things into something decent without completely breaking the lore.
"They discovered that Jupiter was actually a dextro amino based planet which the turian and quarian fleet colonized. Scientists discovered plans for warp speed on Mars so that civilizations could return home and Wrex was able to return to Tuchanka. Turns out Shepard had been picked up by the Normandy and they crashed on jungle planet that was inhabited by puppies. Kaidan, Shepard, and crew secretly lived out the rest of their lives on the beach, while friends and family sent them supplies and food. And everyone lived happily ever after, the end."
Yeah, anyone else want to try to clarify it better?
My completely poor, on the fly stab at it:Harbinger's beam actually knocked a building down on Commander Shepard which, while shielding her from the full force of his beam, critically injured her. Shepard spent the rest of the critical fight to activate the Crucible lying under a pile of rubble suffering from internal trauma and severe burns from the heat of Harby's cannon.
It was Adm. Anderson who actually managed to make it to the conduit beam and into the Citadel to activate the actual Crucible weapon. However, Commander Shepard's role was not yet done. Despite her many injuries, her battle with Harbinger continued on the mental plain thanks to the Reaper tech implants Cerberus had used in the Lazarus project. Close proximity to Harbinger's control signal and Shepard's weakened physical state brought her into the Reaper's collective where she was able to prevent Anderson from being indoctrinated before he could activate the Crucible. Through her last extraordinary efforts of will, Anderson was able to set off the necessary chain reaction to fire the Crucible and destroy the Reapers at the cost of his own life.
Meanwhile, on Earth, a desparate battle was being waged around the conduit by the last few survivors of hammer who were simply trying to survive. Commander Shepard's squad were among them. They would not have survived at all had it not been for the heroic efforts and final sacrifice of Commander Javik who sold his life dearly leading away a last massive assault of Banshees and Brutes. It turns out in the end that Javik was quite as capable a leader as Commander Shepard, and many of the soldiers who might otherwise have died owe their lives to the leadership of the last Prothean and Major Coates who also survived the final onslaught to the beam.
After the Reapers fell from the sky, it was time to pick up the pieces and begin to take stock of all that had been lost. It was at this point that the survivors among Commander Shepard's crew really had time to process that she was lost and began to search for her body.
Up in the skies above Earth the remnants of the sword fleet also began to reorganize itself and take stock. The
Normandy had taken a beating especially with the disruption to EDI who had suddenly gone dark with the firing of the Crucible. Adams and Joker worked tirelessly over the AI core and eventually were able to reboot, but once EDI came online, it was apparent that she had suffered some major damage. If an AI could be said to have amnesia, she did. Joker remains hopeful that given time to sort through all her old memories and data, EDI will "remember" herself.
The Geth are also coming back online and are similarly confused. Surprisingly, the Quarians are the most compassionate and are volunteering in large numbers to transfer to Geth ships to help the Geth recover themselves. Perhaps, this more than anything else will help to right old wrongs and put the two species even more firmly back onto the path of mutual trust.
In the meantime, it fleet sensors have been recovered and it has been confirmed that Commander Shepard's suit sensors are still online and still transmitting life signs, although they are very, very faint. On Earth there is a mad rush to find the source of the signals and the Commander. Major Alenko and Garrus Vakarian are leading the charge to dig teh Commander out from under the pile of rubble she seems to be under. But they are hardly alone, anyone who can stand is holding a shovel or just using their hands. When a piece of rubble is too heavy, there's a krogan nearby who is pitching in. Eventually they have to slow down for fear of doing the Commander worse injury, but soon enough, the battered, burned wreck of a human body is pulled free and waiting med teams rush her into a waiting shuttle to take her to the nearest med facility.
It takes days before the docs let Shepard regain consciusness for any length of time. It's weeks before she can spend significant time walking, and months before she's completely free of the hospital. And, even after all that time, some of her injuries will never completely heal, but she's alive where so many of her friends and comrades are not. Kaidan has never left her side, and Garrus and Liara visit almost daily. Steve and Vega are busy with new assignments, but they send vids pretty regularly as does Tali.
Hackett is organizing the efforts to coordinate fleets and resources and send everyone home. As soon as she's back on her feet, he's threatening to draft Shep and put her to work doing the same. As he says, it's more work than one Admiral can possible do alone ...
