The Press Release this morning left me... :?.  The Blog Q&A left me me... and :(.

These tweets?  They leave me...B).  Really, seriously, hopeful.

I'm hoping what she's saying/ hinting @ is true... then there's a shred of hope. At it is, I'm on the verge of cancelling SWTOR and no pruchasing any new games from Bioware.

On a non-ending and non-Kaidan note, I was just wondering did anyone else kind of flash back to Anders when Miranda said she needed access to Alliance resources but wouldn't tell you why? Because I almost didn't give it to her after what happened in DA2. I actually think I physically flinched when she asked that question.

Here's a Kaidan.

I still have time. I have Jade to play through to the London FOB. Then I have Aili to play. And I've been planning a second run on Insanity with Kelly. So that's three playthroughs. I don't see how I finish with that before summer especially since I've been dipping pretty deeply into MP as I find it kind of fun actually particularly on random bronze matches.

Honestly, if any of you are wanting to get those few matches in the raise your readiness and don't want to worry about running with someone who cares, hit me up - DesiF on Origin. I just play to have fun, really. You can be bad as bad and I really won't care.

I just don't know how they can clarify things into something decent without completely breaking the lore.

"They discovered that Jupiter was actually a dextro amino based planet which the turian and quarian fleet colonized. Scientists discovered plans for warp speed on Mars so that civilizations could return home and Wrex was able to return to Tuchanka. Turns out Shepard had been picked up by the Normandy and they crashed on jungle planet that was inhabited by puppies. Kaidan, Shepard, and crew secretly lived out the rest of their lives on the beach, while friends and family sent them supplies and food. And everyone lived happily ever after, the end."

Yeah, anyone else want to try to clarify it better?

No, I didn't because Miranda never telegraphed to me that she unstable like Anders had, and Miranda also never telegraphed to me that she was wanting me to help her build a bomb like Anders did.  Image IPB

Of all the things in DA2 that bothered people, this was one thing that bothered me the most. Really BioWare? You want me to help this guy get Sela Petre and something that you can only get in deep sewer tunnels from the residue? Uh, hello nitre? Nah, we aren't making gun powder, Anders ... So, can we not do this again? Oh, no choice ... Gee, thanks for spoiling the end at the beginning of Act III. The only surprise was that Anders didn't strap the bomb to himself.

My first Shepard didn't give Miranda resources. She hadn't built a friendship with Miranda, didn't see Miranda tell TIM she quit. So she didn't trust her. My others have seen that and mostly will help her.

So, considering that Destroy + Breathe is my canon ending, it'll be actually possible to reunite with my crew and Kaidan?
That would be pretty awesome, though that's not even my biggest problem with the current ending(s). Still don't know how "clarification" only should be able to improve that mess. What's there to clarify about the gaping plotholes? Or about that moronic Adam and Eve on Gilligan's planet stuff?
Starchild alone destroys the ending for me, but I guess as long as Bioware give me the possibility to headcanon that he exists only in Shep's mind (through indoctrination, as symbolic incarnation of her feelings of guilt, or whatever) and somehow manage to vastly improve on the rest of the ending, I might actually be okay with it. Maybe. Possibly.
Can it be summer already? :/

I know--poor Orei'o Forsetisdottir Jorgan, she has to sit on the ship with her grumpy Lolcathar husband because all I can think about is how poor Maddy Shepard got skroobed out of the chance at a happy ending by some deus ex machina bulldada because the writers were lazy. :(

Okay, I was raging a minute ago.  But this makes me feel like I might be able to go back to work now.

I
still disapprove.  If there isn't an epilogue bit that says "Shepard was rescued and a few weeks later found
the Normandy crew on some nearby garden planet and married Kaidan Alenko immediately" I will rage.

Strawberry, you're going to PAX, right?  Keep us posted!

I think I must be the only one in the world who didn't know what Sela Petre was, or I'm really gullible because I really thought Anders was making a potion to seperate himself from Justice and just needed a special ingredient from the Chantry to do it that the priests wouldn't approve of. Like a saint's bones or something. And when he acted like he was getting his affairs in order I thought he was just scared the seperation from Justice might kill them both. It just completely blind-sided me when it happened, especially since I had Anders as a part of my "Team Awesome" the whole game. :(

So when Miranda, who I trusted actually a little less than Anders because of the Cereberus thing, asked me to give it to her... Well I'm just glad it worked out in the end.=]

Thanks for replying. I don't have many friends who even know what DA is and by the time I discovered the DA2 forums they were pretty much a ghost town so I never really got to talk to people who understand where I'm coming from much.

Unfortunately, this gives me little hope. Jessica's tweets are coming from a community manager, not a writer/producer. It is her job to make people happy by telling them what they want to hear. I doubt she is sitting in on the meeting with the writing team.

If this is what BioWare wants to defend as artistic integrity, then it is time for me to find a different studio to love, because their vision does not agree with me.

I'm upset about the Extended ending announcement. The ending is broken, you can't just fix it by adding some slideshow of whatever. It's like putting a bandaid on a gaping wound. Image IPB

I've never been a gamer, but I'm a big scifi fan and I loved ME so much because finally there was a new, epic scifi story to enjoy, and I could make it my own. So this whole ending debacle has been a huge letdown, and I'm so sad about it all. I haven't been able to touch my second playthrough in a week although I loved the Sentinel gameplay better than the Soldier, and I've been slowly going back to my old hobbies.

It's hard to believe that they are so full of themselves that they refuse to say "Okay, we screwed up, we're sorry" and fix it. Instead they cling to that "artistic integrity" nonsense and will put a patch of condescending "let's make it clearer for you players who weren't smart enough to understand our vision" on it, when close to 65 000 people have voted in this poll that the ending sucks. social.bioware.com/633606/polls/28989/ *shakes head*

My completely poor, on the fly stab at it:

Harbinger's beam actually knocked a building down on Commander Shepard which, while shielding her from the full force of his beam, critically injured her. Shepard spent the rest of the critical fight to activate the Crucible lying under a pile of rubble suffering from internal trauma and severe burns from the heat of Harby's cannon.

It was Adm. Anderson who actually managed to make it to the conduit beam and into the Citadel to activate the actual Crucible weapon. However, Commander Shepard's role was not yet done. Despite her many injuries, her battle with Harbinger continued on the mental plain thanks to the Reaper tech implants Cerberus had used in the Lazarus project. Close proximity to Harbinger's control signal and Shepard's weakened physical state brought her into the Reaper's collective where she was able to prevent Anderson from being indoctrinated before he could activate the Crucible. Through her last extraordinary efforts of will, Anderson was able to set off the necessary chain reaction to fire the Crucible and destroy the Reapers at the cost of his own life.

Meanwhile, on Earth, a desparate battle was being waged around the conduit by the last few survivors of hammer who were simply trying to survive. Commander Shepard's squad were among them. They would not have survived at all had it not been for the heroic efforts and final sacrifice of Commander Javik who sold his life dearly leading away a last massive assault of Banshees and Brutes. It turns out in the end that Javik was quite as capable a leader as Commander Shepard, and many of the soldiers who might otherwise have died owe their lives to the leadership of the last Prothean and Major Coates who also survived the final onslaught to the beam.

After the Reapers fell from the sky, it was time to pick up the pieces and begin to take stock of all that had been lost. It was at this point that the survivors among Commander Shepard's crew really had time to process that she was lost and began to search for her body.

Up in the skies above Earth the remnants of the sword fleet also began to reorganize itself and take stock. The
Normandy had taken a beating especially with the disruption to EDI who had suddenly gone dark with the firing of the Crucible. Adams and Joker worked tirelessly over the AI core and eventually were able to reboot, but once EDI came online, it was apparent that she had suffered some major damage. If an AI could be said to have amnesia, she did. Joker remains hopeful that given time to sort through all her old memories and data, EDI will "remember" herself.

The Geth are also coming back online and are similarly confused. Surprisingly, the Quarians are the most compassionate and are volunteering in large numbers to transfer to Geth ships to help the Geth recover themselves. Perhaps, this more than anything else will help to right old wrongs and put the two species even more firmly back onto the path of mutual trust.

In the meantime, it fleet sensors have been recovered and it has been confirmed that Commander Shepard's suit sensors are still online and still transmitting life signs, although they are very, very faint. On Earth there is a mad rush to find the source of the signals and the Commander. Major Alenko and Garrus Vakarian are leading the charge to dig teh Commander out from under the pile of rubble she seems to be under. But they are hardly alone, anyone who can stand is holding a shovel or just using their hands. When a piece of rubble is too heavy, there's a krogan nearby who is pitching in. Eventually they have to slow down for fear of doing the Commander worse injury, but soon enough, the battered, burned wreck of a human body is pulled free and waiting med teams rush her into a waiting shuttle to take her to the nearest med facility.

It takes days before the docs let Shepard regain consciusness for any length of time. It's weeks before she can spend significant time walking, and months before she's completely free of the hospital. And, even after all that time, some of her injuries will never completely heal, but she's alive where so many of her friends and comrades are not. Kaidan has never left her side, and Garrus and Liara visit almost daily. Steve and Vega are busy with new assignments, but they send vids pretty regularly as does Tali.

Hackett is organizing the efforts to coordinate fleets and resources and send everyone home. As soon as she's back on her feet, he's threatening to draft Shep and put her to work doing the same. As he says, it's more work than one Admiral can possible do alone ...
