Thanks, Crimoson Rose! I try! LOL I love to drool over the man like the next fan girl but I also love great, thought provoking discussions about character thought, emotion & motivation. I'm a writer. Just can't help it.
As I posted earlier, I really do think he'll go through the roof or tear out a bulkhead figuratively speaking upon finding out. Mainly not about what Liara did but for not telling him when she knew about him & Shep & what they meant to one another & then continue not to contact him about it for 2 years. And, yeah, there should be a blow up between him & Liara about it but I also think it'll be resolved fairly quickly w/Kaidan ending up understanding in the end. Again, something along that lines SHOULD be included. Will it? *shrugs* No clue,
Great analysis to the beginning of the game. Chills went down the spine reading it. If that's not dead on than it'll be something eerily similar to it.

I completely forgot all about that. Didn't realize that Liara didn't even bother to say "Oh, by the way, guys, I just saved Shepard's body from the Collectors and gave the body over to Cerberus!"

Actually, no. There's been no official confirmation that the Alliance marine next to Ashley is Vega. Most people are just assuming that.

I too love provoking discussions and debate, shared ideas and the like...it challenges the mind!
I agree about Kaidan's reaction as well. He'll be angry, but knowing Kaidan's character, he'll find a way to come to terms w/ it and understand.
About the game beginning analysis...thanks! I'm working to freshen up my writing skills and enhance them...a long journey but exciting. I love ME and these forums give me a chance to challenge the way I look at various situations, plus like I mentioned before I'm a fan girl w/ a passion for debate!

It's great Kaidan is doing well in his career but the Normandy is Shepard's. If he tries to give orders on her boat it's not going to be pretty. If the Alliance try to give the ship she's worked hard to upgrade to a newbie Spectre it'll be down right ugly.

Regardless of rank, the Alliance will place Shepard in charge of the Normandy because of his/her expertise on the Reapers. Otherwise they would just put him/her back in the clink, or give her/him a gun and put them on the frontline.

I personally don't think the Alliance will have any say in anything in 3. There won't be much of an Alliance left to assign anything or give orders to anybody. The chain of command will be non-existent. Most if not all completely taken out during the invasion or shortly after. Anderson tells SHEPARD to unite the other races & get them there to take Earth back at the end of the Earth invasion demo while Anderson chooses to stay behind to lead the resistance.
I think that definitively puts Shep in charge since Anderson is more than likely the only highest ranking Alliance official w/the the ability to give an order. But, then again, the whole point is to defeat the Reapers. Who freaking cares who commands the Normandy as long as the Reapers get their butts handed to them. Fighting over the command of the ship would be counterproductive & ridiculously immature considering what's at sake; the existence & lives of all organic civilization. But, that's just my take on it.

So what is everyone going to do in the meantime until the release date of ME3?
I'm going to do 2 more runthroughs of ME2 on my alternate Shepards, maybe pick up Rock Band again, and then play Rocksmith when its out to fill my time until ME3 is here. Oh and that whole pesky going to school thing and looking for a job.

Hey everybody! Thank you for the thread.
Here's the thing guys, and you know what's coming. See, I can't wait to see Kaidan, but....I cheated on him. don't judge me. I held out a long time. In fact it wasn't until my 2nd play through of ME2 that I cheated. And then it was pretty much close to the end. I just couldn't take it anymore. Not the way it sounds. What I mean is..well, I was all broken up over Kaidan. Then here's this Thane calling me "siha" in that raspy voice; we were about to go into the omega 4 and...i just sought comfort from Thane. Although it was weird cuz later he's draped all over my captain's cabin couch. ...lol. I was like eek..how do I get rid of this guy? lol.
sooo...i'm wondering how that's going to play out. Although, Kaidan's my heart in this story, and i'm keeping him. But let's not forget, he left me standing there on horizon after i came back from the dead to be with him. got cerberus all over me..like selling ur soul to the devil; & i gotta go fight these grisly collectors thru the omega 4! and all i got from him was a parting shot of his gorgeous rear end.
Then i get that email about him being unsure..and drinks with some doctor...the email was so weirdly blase abt. said doctor being one and the same as the lillith...that got abducted! so i thought maybe this doctor chick wasn't the one i saw get abducted because wouldn't he react to that in some way? So..i went looking for her on the citadel...lol. i was just gonna talk. there's nothing wrong w/talking? renegade style. lol..but yeah, i went looking for her. of course, couldn't find either one...kaidan nor lillith. (didn't want to see her get pasted tho. don't wanna see anybody get pasted. i was just gonna put the fear of shepard in her..ha!
Bioware did a really good job in making the character feel...cut off; isolated. There was no sure footing about it all. The game was darker than the first, and that feeling added to it. No alliance, no anderson..no kaidan. not even that ungrateful council. you were on your own in a bad place. thank goodness for joker, tali and garrus. I did, however, come to know and care for many of the new characters.
Anyway, i'm nervous about how it's going to work out. I didn't save right b4 my dalliance..i meant to..but screwed up. and i'm not playing again. as is at this point.

Right now, writing a lot of ME fanfics (trying to write Shenko fics), trying to draw Shenko art (failing because of artist block), finishing my second ME2 run, playing KOTOR because I never beat the game years ago. Oh, and going slowly out of my mind (if I wasn't already out of it years ago)

My best advice is to do another playthrough & stay faithful to him if you want to keep him as your love interest. There will be negative consequences (naturally) if you cheat. There's been nothing said official what that will entail but you can imagine that it'll be far from good & it'll take A LOT to get him back if you even can. Or you can still keep that playthrough & find out for certain what happens if you do cheat just out of curiosity & variety. Those are the only things I can think of anyway, personally speaking. I don't know about anyone else.

First time I gave it Cerberus, but changed my mind and reloaded to my autosave and sent it to the Alliance.

well, get my hustle on in the real world. so when the time comes, i'll be able to kick back and enjoy the ride without guilt nor obligations. i'm blocking that section of my calendar off. (and saving up for a massive flat screen tv..those little words are killing me)

@celticmoonbeams..yeah, i might play it thru again. although i am curious how.."interesting" that will make it. if i have to play thru again..then alas..a woman's work is never done. heck, i already came back from the dead. i guess another play thru-if i have to-won't kill me either. we'll see.
@crimsonnephilim i did the exact same thing. i gave it to cerberus at first..and it didn't feel right. interesting cerberus never said anything about it. knowing TIM, there's prolly nothing of value on it and it was all a test....

I did send that damaging to the Alliance as well but I stayed faithful to Kaidan. I understood where he was coming from & why he was the way he was. I actually found his reaction comforting to be honest. It mean he's no fool & proved he really lived & cared about Shep. He wasn't willing to just go along w/everything & latch onto just anyone who looked like Shep w/o knowing for a fact it was really her which couldn't be proven to him at that point in time. It still hurt but couldn't fault him in the least. He had too many extremely valid points & worries. His email just proved he was still logical & intelligent when the day ends & willing to listen & work it out. He just needed the distance & time to come to terms w/the bombshell that was dumped onto his lap & the emotional mess that made him. It goes to show that Shep isn't the only one thrown for a loop & things totally suck for her (or him if played as a guy).
