And on a Kaidan related not - did anyone else miss his photo being in shepard's cabin. The desk in her cabin looked empty without it, I wonder what happend to it, and I'm a little bit disappointed that it wasn't mentioned in game.

I totally did! There was no reason for me to go to my desk in this game.

I missed it too! I was completely expecting it to be there when I first walked in. It really confused me.

I've met and had the pleasure to work with some of the most interesting people of my career via Microsoft, yet at their peak (and still to a large extent) they're portrayed as a big evil corporate entity. You don't see the people for the whole, and that's what a PR company is for - portraying a whole single consistent image. And if that image isn't so good, then you focus on the company as a whole, forgetting the individuals. Consider me devil's advocate if you will...

I can't defend the endings, and I'm no artist, but I want to keep an open mind because I need non-negative thoughts to keep me going I just met a bunch of awesome people today with good intentions. I want them to be put in a strong position when it comes to extended cuts and endings. 

I just love Mass Effect - I love it, I really do. Damn game sucked me in and I've thought about little else since. Best science fiction universe in many years, and the characters are so rich and splendid I'm hooked. Get me out of rational mode and I'm as crazy as anyone else - I rant, I get mad, I swear, curse and rage about endings.... I just hold back in any public forum because it's The Internet, and The Internet never forgets. 

EDIT: And yes, I too missed that picture in my cabin! I want all my stuff back, not just the ships! But that picture frame is important!

That was the worst part about playing through ME2 with a single Shepard. I kpet going to the cabin and not seeing his picture, lol. Had to go and visit Anderson a lot just to see his one, lmao.

IMO, when you have to throw your credibility and skills into an argument to gain leverage, you've already lost. Artistic integrity? I might as well start spelling introquet as introquet because I want to write it in a more introquet fashion. I'm not wrong, this is how I intended it to be. Introquetly.

Sarcasm aside, I appreciate the fact that they're compromising. But if they had just come out and acknowledged our side of the argument in the first place instead of underhandedly insulting us in defense, this whole process could be much happier.

Yeah, it's pretty embarrassing to watch if you are an artist or an art major. If I was in one of my classes and my teacher asked me to explain my work and I was like 'I don't have to explain my vision! It's art!' Pretty sure I would fail :/

I was an art major too and with an answer like that you would fail lol...

and the hudosn/weekes thing i think i saw in some of the final hours of me3 thing...

and i also miss kaidan's pic... but we still get the 'empty' frame on the other desk close to the bed..wtf?

Oh, sorry, I don't play very often, so I'm not good with knowing classes and abilities and stuff  MP is fun, I just haven't been able to find a class that fits my playstyle.

I understand completely--a very old and very dear friend of mine works for EA, and he and I have discussed my issues with the ending at length. He understands how I feel, and agreed with me once I explained exactly how craptacular the ending was and how insulted a lot of us feel at EAWare's blowing-off of the fanbase--but he won't say that in public, of course, because he has to maintain that public image if he wants to stay employed.

That is why I haven't cancelled my SWTOR sub over this--like I've said here and elseboard, I don't feel right punishing the guys in Austin (who actually are listening to fans and trying to make SWTOR better) because a couple of the guys in Edmonton have decided to be arrogant and dismissive little toolboxen.

I'm a relative noob to Mass Effect--I didn't even pick up the first game until two weeks before ME3 came out. But as soon as I played the first and second, I dropped what was for me a truckload of dosh to get all the DLCs for ME2, followed by another truckload of dosh for ME3 because I was that into it. When I got to the ending for 3, I felt like I'd been kicked in the quad--all that work I did in all three games, rendered 100% meaningless because of two guys' intellectually-stunted idea of "artistic vision". I could deal with DA2, because that was at least somewhat open-ended despite the fact that I felt like I was being herded down a cattle-chute rather than actually being given the chance to--for example--talk the Arishok into NOT attacking Kirkwall or perhaps actually brokering a peace between the Mages and the Templars by killing the hell out of that crazy-arse Meridith, this negating what Anders felt was the need to set off the Mage-Nuke O' Doom.

But ME3 made me feel like Charlie Brown trying to make a running kick, only to have Lucy not only yank the futbol away at the last minute, but also give him an elbow from the sky, a purple nerple, an atomic wedgie, AND a kick in the quad (with steel-toed Doc Martens!) all at the same time.

The dismissive garbage from Casey Hudson et al. and their water-carriers in the gaming press didn't do anything but add insult to injury.

There--I had to get it all out.

I'll write fanfic, because I want to. I'm trying to head-canon my own ending where Commander Madeleine Shepard gets up, grabs two M-920 Cains and tosses one to Kaidan, and bellows "ASSUME THIS, [censored]!" before the two lovers blast Harbinger right in all four eyes and proceed to lead the combined armies of the galaxy in a final epic battle to take the Reapers the hell down--after which they ride off into the sunset and build a cabin somewhere in the wilds of Western Canada (where they can hunt and fish and raise a bunch of cute little biotic children). Garrus and Vega popping up with their own mini-nukes to help with the Harby-spanking is optional, but always welcome.

But that doesn't change the fact that I'm still feeling mightily burned by the idea that I fought for exactly jack taco and that EAWare doesn't give a rat's hindquarters about what the fans think, which is pretty much the message I got from Casey smug and insulting attempts to defend his team's "artistic vision".

I hate feeling like nothing I do matters and that all my efforts were/are a waste of time. I get enough of that crap in my real life (she says, looking at the pile of job rejections from prospective employers), I don't need it from my damn games too.

(sorry to be so windy, friends--I wanted to just get this all out in a relatively troll-free area of the boards.)

I have something to ask of the Kaidan fans here: Can Shepad talk to him about TIM if he/she is not romancing him? Just curios if it's specific to the romance or if you can get the conversation regardless.

I think you can get the conversation regardless, since the game takes either your import from ME2 or assumes the events of ME1-2 (if you played ME3 "cold").

Yes he does at the end of the mission. 
One teammate talks about how seeing Victus sacrifice his life for the greater good seems to hit close to home.
Kaidan continued to say how that reminds him of Vimire and of Ash.
(Not sure if this part is different, if Kaidan was sent for the bomb in Vimire instead. But for my case, Kaidan was with Major Kirrahe, and Ash with the bomb so it made sense)
Shepard said yea, Ash is what she has been thinking about. Shep continued to say she don't really think Ash would like them mention about her in that way again.
Kaidan chuckled and said yea.

EDIT: When you visit Kaidan at his quarters later, he have a few additional more lines about Victus with Garrus and Shepard. 

A pretty nice moment there imo.  During the mission, Kaidan seems to yell a lot though, it does reminds me of his ME1 self. lol JOKERISONTHEBRIDGE! 

After which you get on board Normandy, instead of treated to the Wrex/Victus/Shep quarrel scene, you have Hackett instead. He basically summarise that Wrex and Victus have a quarrel but that's about it.

 so, I've Imported My Cheater Shep into ME3 and ... i'm not sure if i've been friend zoned by Kaidan...
I broke it off with Garrus in the first Convosation in the forward Battery then when i went to Vist Kaidan, got him the gift..  I had Shep aploiges to him and he kept saying " i want to be firends at lest" he never said anything about more than firends... so,

i guess I have to wait for the date? um.. any help here would be great, as I want My Cheater Shep to go back to Kaidan...

The first thing I looked for in that cabin was the picture. I didn't realize how much of a habit it was for me to look at it before doing anything else until it wasn't there anymore. I wish it would've been mentioned, but I guess that's what fanfic is for.

phew....  so, no chance of being firendzoned..YAY:wizard:  on another note, has anyone noticed a differance in diologe between an ME1 import and ME2 import?  cause my cheater is an ME2 import. and i noticed some lines where cut. compared to my ME1 import.

It's not romance-exclusive. It will get unlocked automatically after you finish Jacob's mission.

@Graceyn bit late but just wanted to say wow you wrote "If It Meant Living"? Just started reading that a short while ago and have to say its amazingly good. Read the mushy Kaidan parts first (couldn't help myself) but going back and reading it all from the beginning now. I love how it follows the events in the game and fleshes them out with more conversations and thoughts etc. Can't wait for the next chapters!

Yeah I miss the Kaidan picture too. My brother just got ME3 and was wanting to see what my armor looked like, went up to my cabin and automatically went to the place where the picture was as I always did in ME2 whenever going there . Makes me wonder what would have happened to it.

I've been a fan of Mass Effect from the beginning. It was because of Mass Effect that I bought my first Xbox 360 and it was the first 360 game I owned. I loved the universe, the story, but most of all I loved the characters. My most favorite of course is Kaidan.

Like many of you I fell in love with this character from the get go. His personality, his voice, his looks, everything about him was great. His development through the trilogy was well done and made me love him even more. Obviously my canon FemShep romanced him throughout all three games and stayed faithful. I had hoped that there was a chance at a happy ending, that Shepard would possibly settle down with Kaidan, maybe start a family. Then the ending happened and the rest was history.

(cue several bouts of anger, confusion, and depression caused by ending)

Long story short, I hope that this "Extended Cut" will fix the ending, or at least make it tolerable. I heard in one of the tweets that there might be a chance that Shepard can be reunited with his/her friends and LI in the epilogue and the mass relays could be fixed. If this is true then maybe, maybe I could forgive the rest of the nonsense that was spoon-fed to us in the last 10 minutes. I just hope I don't have to compromise my morals, commit genocide, or violate the laws of nature and science to achieve it.

On a more positive note, any of you out there also hoping that Play Arts Kai will release figures of FemShep and Kaidan? I would pay top dollar for that!
