Oh - was that how you understood that.  When Wrex said (something like) "they (the other clans) won't like it that I will rule beside her," I understood that to mean she's the one who will rule and Wrex gets to share.  I thought that it was a good turnaround on the Krogan cultural idea.

Yeah, I took that as a little nod that Wrex and Eve will rule beside each other.  However, I took it as a sceond in command type lol. But it could be the other way around since she has that type of chacter in my own opion

The reason I took it that way (let's see what you think) is because it seems to me that what Wrex is saying there is something like:

"They won't like it that (against the usual/accepted practice) I will rule beside her."

Whaddaya think?  She gave such a different take on Krogan culture, that my (very much projected) interpretation was that, with Eve in place and the genophage cured, they would revert to the cultural sophisication they obviously had before they bombed themselves back to the stone age and the Salarians showed up and 'uplifted' them.  I interpreted it as reverting to matriarchal rule.  Bioware, for all its sexism in the game, obviously has a bit of a thing about matriachal societies - the Salarians, the Asari and now, I thought, the Krogan.

I'm fairly certain, that no matter what, Wrex will be doing whatever it is that Bakara (Eve) gently "suggests."

Or suffer the consequences. LOL

That's sad. So long as you don't have to romance a character who swings the wrong way for you, and you can avoid something that's overall distasteful to you if that's really a problem, then the presence of it for gamers who want it shouldn't be an issue. The way it's done anymore, I think Liara was the last time I remember you being able to "accidentally" wind up having a gay relationship because you could romance her just by being nice. Since then, it's been pretty obvious that you were heading down that road with any character, and the games are rated M for a reason. If you're a parent and having an issue with your child getting into it. Why are you letting your kid play a rated M game again?

I just wish they'd write the character one way or the other - gay, straight, or bi. No more of this ambisexual stuff like they did in DA2. Yeah, it limits the total number of available options for me to romance, but it means they can write that one available romance for my preference with all due attention to detail and depth.

Edited to add :  If you dont have to play a fresh ME3 game.. just dont.. ever.  My memorial board has like 20 more names on it then the one in my saved game playthrough.  It was depressing to see how many characters they just didnt put in the 3rd game if you hadnt played the others.  I'm not even sure if I am going to be able to finish it honestly.

It sounds to me like they always wanted this game to suck like a box of rocks in terms of being a triumphant experience, so the endings really are their way of punishing all us gorram heroes who still persevered in spite of all their attempts to depress us earlier in the franchise. Image IPB

I was on a thread where people were naming their top 3 characters, and it seemed like every other person chose Garrus, Tali, and Liara. They are probably my three least favorite characters! Well, I do count Garrus as one my tops, but I also like Kaidan, Miranda, Samara and Thane.

Tali's cute and all, but she was never one of my favorites.

And Liara is just creepy.

And it is also important that we don't receive sexual stereotyped characters like Zevran, the "amante latino".

Really, the only thing I wish they would repeat for the other games is using DAII's "heart" indicator to let you know if you're trying to romance someone. SWTOR at least sorta does this with [Flirt].
ME3... still nothing. I'm just kind of surprised that Liara didn't try to jump me (again) but that's probably because I was at Kaidan's side so often in ME3. (Lucky me for buying that whiskey right off XD)

And in the same vein with SWTOR-- the summaries still /never/ match up with the actual spoken dialogue. (sigh) That stuff isn't going to change, is it? :P

I took it as not necessarily a matriarchy in the strict sense, but that females had a much stronger role that helped to channel the male aggression making it far less destructive to the overall fabric of society. Perhaps there were separate spheres of power that balanced things out or the power that the male krogan had was not enough to allow them to destroy society or something.

Truth to be told, Liara did pull the Rosie (from Two and a Half Men) and was stalking upon a balcony during Kaidan's Apollo Cafe date. Regardless, I like Liara nonetheless.

I feel it's odd that people get up in arms about the Retake movement, when retards such as these continue to prowl unrestrained. It also makes me despair of today's education. The information is never been more readily available, and yet....

When I become the kind and fair ruler of the known universe, the first thing I'll do will be to start all social studies classes with a disclaimer similar to: "Movies/books/music/video games DON NOT  make your children gay. Their desire for the same genitals as their own does."

Also, I'll make Casey and  Co patch out the Starchild.

I didnt take it as a matriarchy at all, i took it as join control, after all we know theres male clans and female clans, so i presumed wrex would continue to lead the males and eve the females and then gradually overtime it would just blend into one big sexually equal planet(s) of headbutting joy!

Yeah they feel very forced sometimes too :?

I do agree that those three were kinda forced, but I actually enjoyed Garrus' character and the way they made him seem like your bro. Liara and Tali both kinda had that Anime Schoolgirl feel in that they WANTED you to love them, and that really got on my nerves. Garrus, he doesn't care about your opinion as much, love him or hate him he's still Garrus. It wouldn't shatter his world, and I liked that about him. And his interactions were fun, and he never ninjamanced you.

My top three would be: my Shepard, Kaidan, and Ashley. Miranda third if Shep doesn't count, and Garrus close behind. I hate all the "Choose your least favorite!" threads :? If you're going to hate Ash and Kaidan, at least give a good reason for doing so!

As for the Gay/Bi thing, I'll admit, it bothered me a ton at first in DA2. But as I kept playing, I realized I was just being a selfish idiot who wanted LIs to be one gender only. It's not a character changing deal, I love how they handled it. Anders won't make any mentions of being gay if you're female, or straight if you're male. Isabela establishes that she'll sleep with anything that moves (but I still love her). Fenris makes no mentions, and neither does Merril.
Likewise, Kaidan never gives the impression of being bi if you're female, and makes his interests clear if you're male. The romances have different lines, animations, and stuff, and I think they handled it very nicely. Even if the subject isn't something I'm completely comfortable thinking/talking about, I have no problems with it being there, all these people making an uproar are just stupid.

Top 3 for me would have to be Kaidan, Vega, and Grunt. Garrus, Tali, and Liara are usually at the bottom of my list if I have to list all the characters in order.

As for the gay/bi thing I have no problem with new characters being gay/bi but I don't like established characters being changed. But I hardly think gay/bi characters in games are something to create an uproar about.

true
I always think that Kaidan is straight for femshep
and bi for maleshep
if maleshep romanced kaidan in me3
he admit that he realized that he loves shepard
maybe Kaidan is Shepard sexual

I was talking about the end of the Mars mission with my husband and I've decided that BioWare simply cannot bring themselves to add biotics to a cut scene. In every case where Kaidan or Liara ends up threatened by a big baddie they flail about helplessly, pew-pew-pewing with a pistol when their natural reaction should have been to hammer down the blue stuff. Ever time that woman grabs his face and slams him against the shuttle I'm yelling, "Hello?! L2 implant, anyone?!"

I presume they do this because it could be a different crew member that has no biotics (Ash in this case) and because "drama" and "story". Does anyone else find it immersion-breaking or am I just nitpicking at this point?

ETA: My favorite three characters, presuming Shep doesn't count, are Kaidan, Garrus, and Wrex/Grunt.  (I figure between the two of them they count as a full-time squadmate  so I can include both.)  Liara and Miranda live at the bottom of my list, right under Zaeed.
