Yeah I can see that. If you actually read mythology from various cultures, you can actually see the essence and message its trying to convey are similar if not the same. Just different names. What I like about the use of reincarnation with Shenko is that it further reinforces that Kaidan and Shepard are soulmates. That no matter where or what time they may be, they belong together. <3 I'm such a sappy romantic. The idea is interesting, but my opinion is that the goddess part might be ... a bit way off the timeline of ME. I just don't see it linking well with the present timeline of trilogy. Maybe you can prove me wrong.
But I like the reinforcing idea of Kaidan and Shepard (especially Shepard) that there's no one else and it's true love after all.
The goddess won't make much of appearent. She's just... well, you know she was there but she isn't important. Just like Buddhist doesn't care about god because the thing that control our life is karma. (Action and the things after that.) I won't give them limitless power. It's just ruin the fun. Well, the god is just a boy who want to see his parents happy, and he would do anything to make sure they could be together this time. And his friend is going to help.
In fect, they were gods only because people calls them. Their true self were something else entirely.
About the timeline, it's call the cycle, so how could you know the begining and the end. Thing dies for new thing to born. That's why the god of death an the goddess of live are the one.
Well, I suggest you to read battle angel Alita: the last order. It was perfect manga that comblied belief and science together. In some point, the heroin had the question about being human just like Shepard wondered. (Alita died and reborn so many times. I lost count already.) But I don't think I would use that large scale of story. To be honest, I wonder if west people would be able to understand the pure spiritual thing. No offend, it's only because isn't something you can learn from the book. There's no the quick method to understand the truth of live, however.
True be told, I felt a bit insulted when someone say I don't understand the philosophy in ME. Excuse me? I'd learn about this thing for my entire live (not that long but, well, still long) and you think I don't know about philosophy? Oh, I think you point your finger in the wrong way guy.
