Not gonna lie. I only started playing it a few months ago, myself, though I've owned the games for a couple of years. I got ME2 free for buying DA2, and I bought ME1 when it was on sale on Steam, but I was never a big fan of sci-fi, so I didn't think I'd ever get around to playing them. Then my best friend started getting excited about ME3's impending release and so I ended up playing the games just so I would understand what he kept babbling about. And I was hooked. Have barely played anything else since. >.>

  Clearly I misunderstood.  I would very much believe you.  The series has been building a fan base for a long time but I'd never heard of it until DA:O swept me off my gaming feet and I had to see what else this company had done.  Happily, that was just in time to finish ME1 as ME2 came out.  The wait after that just about killed me!    Then I got to the end.

I won't be seeing the movie. Turning video games into movies tends to end up not so good. Besides I'm not even that interested in playing as a male Shep, so a movie with him doesn't really sound that exciting.

Yeah, being mshep, yeah he would totally be left behind.  I'd much prefer it to star femshep as I'm sure we all would!  But even then they'd probably still kill Kaidan.  I will NEVER kill him, to me, he and femshep are soulmates I love their relationship dynamic.  It would incite much crying in the community.

Now my co-GM of my SWTOR guild doesn't like ME, and has been driving me crazy because I haven't been playing TOR due to being PO'd at Bioware over the ending of ME.

I'm writing about Eden Prime right now and I just rewatched the conversation shep had with kaidan in the shuttle saying that it feels longer then just 3 years since they been there.

It must have been more then 3 years. Shep was dead for 2 and I think it was said that there is about a 6 month span from Arrival to ME3 unless I misunderstood. So that means that ME1 only took 6 months? Am I getting this right? It just feels it should be longer, I dont know.

Hubby and I play a lot of SWTOR. So much so, in fact, that I haven't even finished my ME1 run with my newest Shep or my second run through ME3 with my Paragon that actually did everything right (so no one was dead). It's like Dragon Age all over again: so many ways to start! I've got tons of people in the works and I don't even have a Bounty Hunter yet.

I always thought their timeline was far too short.  For me, ME1 and ME2 should have taken about a year each.  A LOT happens and it's not like you travel instantly between systems in clusters, no matter how fast the galaxy map makes it look.  FTL is not teleportation and the distances are huge.  Plus I could have sworn that, at the beginning of ME3, someone said Shep had been in lockdown for a year.  Then suddenly it was six months?

well i have that game too, my empire characters guild kicked me too many off time, my repulic characters guild isstill with me, but i go on it like an hour or so a week lols. it just doesn't have that mass effect feel to it

One Imperial guild kicked me, that would be my main guild, the Republic side of that guild kicked all but my main.  The guild I'm actually co GM of has not kicked me, though I think there was a merge about a month or so ago that I haven't looked into because... yeah...

So far I've enjoyed Corso's romance and have just started down the romance path with Vector (but the infestation thing is creeping me out).   I just wish there were some acknowledgement of the relationship outside of the sparse conversations.  <_<
