Watched a video on Youtube of Kaidan getting killed in the Citadel... it was horrible, I wish I could unsee it :crying:

I couldn't even bring myself to watch it on YouTube.  I just can't do it, I can't watch it, I wish I didn't even know it existed.:crying:

so i am guessing you all let Ashley die on Virmire and convince Kaidan to backdown on Citadel Coup haha i wondewr what would happen if Biwoare made Kaidan die in the Extended cut how would you all react if you can't even bring yourself to kill him, there would prob be a lot of tissues and tears

I forced myself to watch it once, just to see what happens...I swear, I said to myself...HOW COULD SOMEONE DO THAT?? Image IPB I could never leave Kaidan to die, even when I started an ME1 playthrough and I had intended to let Ash live, in the end I couldn't do it...Kaidan so far lives in all my playthroughs Image IPBImage IPB ...and yeah, I do both those first 2 things. And if Bioware were to do that Image IPB...there would be many tissues, tears, wailing, ice cream and pitchfork sales going through the roof Image IPB....I don't think Bioware would risk forcing something like that on us....nope Image IPB

Thanks again for the kind words. It's been a long time since I've written anything and have always been too self-conscious to ever let people read my work before. I'm pretty far out of my comfort zone here, so your encouragement means a lot. :)

As a token of my appreciation, have this thing that made me lol

If it was done properly (i.e. the suicide mission in ME2) and not just a pointless death (i.e. the Virmire decision), then while I wouldn't be happy about it, I would accept it and deal with it, and take my head canon of how my Shepard deals with it.  However, if it is another Virmire like decision (which the Citadel Coup is) where his death would have no point what so ever to the story line or whatever happens and was again done just for the emotional response I would be pissed.

I didn't have much issue with Virmire the first couple times I played ME, because I didn't take the time to get to know Ashley, I just decided I didn't like her as soon as she revealed herself as Speciest and her religious beliefs.  My take on her colored by my own real life experiences with my own religious beliefs being different from others.  After a couple of play throughs where I made myself get to know her, and found the deeper character underneath, where I came to see she didn't shove her beliefs down my throat, and as I managed to get her to see our allies as more than just a convenient partnership until things got ugly, I came to really despise the Virmire decision, as in all honesty from a story perspective there was no reason for it other than to evoke an emotional response.

I don't think Bioware is dumb enough to do that...one of our main problems with the ending was that the Normandy was stuck in some unknown planet and would never meet Shepard again, so I'm pretty sure they know they should at least have one ending where the LI lives...if they value their fanbase...

I once thought about saving Ashley because it'd be interesting to have her around at least once, but I can't do it because it'd mean having to let Kaidan die... if only I could sacrifice someone else on Virmire, like Liara for example

I still don't like her, and have no problem at all picking Kaidan...

And if they gave me a "save Earth or save Kaidan" situation, I'm pretty sure I would save Kaidan...
(I was actually ready to face a situation like that in ME3)

This because I have not emotional attachment to Earth in this game.  I still can't figure out why everyone thought Tevos' idea to get ready while the Reapers are busy with Earth, then pick somewhere elst to challenge them was such a 'ack how could she' moment.  I mean it is strategically sound tactical advice.:?

Oooh that would have been an interesting option. But yes, I couldn't let Kaidan die on Virmire either and I always talked him down on the Citadel.

Um in one of my Shepard's play through she will stay loyal thought Kaidan will die in the cope to make it a tragic romance type thing. To actually, make her have a reason to feel the need to have a breakdown of epic potions after that scene after Theissa, since she was in fact thinking about the ones she lost throughout the reaper wars......... Also, hoping she wakes up in a heven like scene in the DLC if she dies and then she hugs Kaidan and whispers something in his ear.

That would make Kaidan's death and Shepard's death worth it in my opinion just to see them being together forever in the end. If I couldn't talk him down, I would probably take Vaga or EDI since they don't know him that well thus that would make more sense for them to shoot Kaidan.

I feel like I know everyone in this thread already haha a board I was on before about completely unrelated topic(s) is going weird (I'm a mod on it), and me playing ME like my life depended on it, I feel like I need another outlet.

I read about 3-4 hours of posts each night before sleeping so I could feel really prepared to join. Though I've been on the boards for awhile now, I just read along.

Thanks for the welcome :D

I was just listening to Lana Del Rey's Dark Paradise as suggested by previous posters, just before deciding to post, and THANK YOU for that suggestion. Amazing song, so relevant to the ME3 discussions too.

I need tips for Kaidan withdrawal, I'm trying to avoid playing ME because..well just because. I tried firing up KOTOR and talking to Carth, but..I dunno...

Welcome new person, I live here, there's no nastiness or aggression which I'm allergic to and avoid like the plague, so I moved in!

*edit*  Being at the top here has made me realise that I don't have enough screens for this!  Maybe I should just do another playthrough to remedy that...
