If it was done properly (i.e. the suicide mission in ME2) and not just a pointless death (i.e. the Virmire decision), then while I wouldn't be happy about it, I would accept it and deal with it, and take my head canon of how my Shepard deals with it. However, if it is another Virmire like decision (which the Citadel Coup is) where his death would have no point what so ever to the story line or whatever happens and was again done just for the emotional response I would be pissed.chibievil wrote...

I couldn't even bring myself to watch it on YouTube. I just can't do it, I can't watch it, I wish I didn't even know it existed.
I didn't have much issue with Virmire the first couple times I played ME, because I didn't take the time to get to know Ashley, I just decided I didn't like her as soon as she revealed herself as Speciest and her religious beliefs. My take on her colored by my own real life experiences with my own religious beliefs being different from others. After a couple of play throughs where I made myself get to know her, and found the deeper character underneath, where I came to see she didn't shove her beliefs down my throat, and as I managed to get her to see our allies as more than just a convenient partnership until things got ugly, I came to really despise the Virmire decision, as in all honesty from a story perspective there was no reason for it other than to evoke an emotional response.
That was one more factor that made deciding to leave Ash there so much easier. Kaidan can deal damage and take some punishment but Ash had an assualt rifle, a sniper rifle, and heavy armor. On top of the biotics and the higher rank, Kaidan just didn't seem like he could hold that position as long as Ash could.I feel bad even saying that about him but you do have to carry him back to the Normandy if you leave him there and go back for him...not that I don't like carrying him around but, really.
Major Kaidan Alenko in ME3: We're going to need a bigger boot.

Meh, I don't think about practical things like "who would be more use"! It's all about Kaidan! Ashley has never survived my playthrough's, gosh the thought is horrifying!

M!shep gets a little bit more time in the citadel date (about 2 minutes 50 seconds) while femshep gets about 2 and a half, but the romance scene the femshep gets like 30 seconds more so it kind of evens it out
Edit: God damn typos!

Well a benefit of playing it again is that you get all the lovely Kaidan moments. Just don't play after the goodbye scene in London, it's too depressing!
I wasn't planning to! And the only I'm going through again is for the lovely Kaidan moments, and ofc with the intention of screenshotting everything this time. I'm the kind of person that takes a camera somewhere and forgets to use it...

mShep gets an additional dialogue wheel during the Citadel date which makes the scene longer compared to FemShep's. Also, when you turn him down as mShep, he switches to part of the dialogue from friendly date (how you're a great friend and how he admires your as commander blah blah) instead of the 'steak is here' thing. I'm trying to search for all the different version of the date with him on YT, but still can't find one with unimported FemShepArliea wrote...

I did my first ME3 PS3 play through with an unimported femshep, and I don't recall the scene playing out any differently.
But I started with watching my partner playing ME2 (never ME), then we got ME3 for me, and then we returned ME2 and 3 for PS3, and bought an XBOX 360, and then I played ME-ME3 right through lol Expensive, but worth it...
I was a hardcore DAO fan, and wasn't a fan of 'shooting' games because I could never hit anyone - but I learned... quickly.
