Yay, I'm glad you can see the playlist now, even if you can't watch all of them. XD Added your pick, and that's a great one. The lyrics are perfect.

I'm just going to confirm this with my fellow Kaidanites: it has absolutely been proven that in order to get Kaidan on the Tuchanka: Bomb mission, you have to forego completing the Benning mission, yes?

I totally agree. I think it is a really 'real' couple thing to do. Along with the scene where Shep puts their hand on his chest, then chin and pulls him in for a kiss after the nightmare. SO AWESOME. I've been trying to find a picture of that for some time now but I keep getting distracted when I find other pictures lol

Oh no, they're all gone for real. Mean husband said he'd find them if they existed, so I made sure there was nothing for him to find. I'd like to think he has better things to do that mining my computer, but just in case... Thanks for the understanding though. And I'm glad your boyfriend is supportive.Kolotosa wrote...

<sad anecdote!>
Oh, Ieborum...I'm glad you didn't delete them all outright. I totally empathise with your embarrassment, though. When I started writing those two little stories last week I felt so ridiculous. I started in my notebook and every time my boyfriend would come to the living room I'd put it away... then I started typing it up on my laptop and would close it every time he got too close because I didn't want him to see what I was doing. I felt so sick after I uploaded the first one and posted the link here, too. Afterwards I let my boyfriend read it, and he thought it was cute....but there's no way I'm letting him read the second one with the sexytime bits. XD
Isn't it silly how stigmatised it is? Gosh.
If you ever change your mind about sharing any of it, I'm sure we'd all love to read it. This thread is so amazing and full of so many extraordinary, supportive people; I never would have dreamed of uploading my work if I hadn't felt that at the least, everyone here would understand, even if they didn't like it. It helped restore some of my confidence in my work again, something that had been sorely lacking.

here's the order I did mine to get Kaidan in group for Bomb quest
Surkesh
Rachni
Benning
Turian Platoon
Tuchanka (cure genophage)
Citadel
Bomb
The Rachni one can be left till after the bomb quest... you can get all quests done
I don't let my husband near anything I write. He doesn't read much anyway but usually I'm trying to work my thoughts into some kind of coherent narrative and then he pops in and pokes fun at me. Not very helpful and so I put away or turn off whatever I'm writing when he comes in.Chiantirose1982 wrote...

He doesnt really care though even though he likes to make fun of me here and there. MEN!!!
You can wait to do the Benning quest too. It doesn't expire, but you won't be able to deliver the dog tags to the human ambassador after the coup. But there's really nothing that awesome that comes from that little fetch quest. You can still save the Benning citizens from abduction by Cerberus, a fate quite possibly worse than death, and you can bring Kaidan with you!madlily wrote...

Doing the Rachni opens up Benning, right? You have to throw Grissom in there before the platoon as well, but I dont remember what triggers Grissom.

Y'all are making me feel so much better. I'm not the only one who hides everything from her significant other! Maybe I'll start writing again and just do a better job of covering my tracks.Phoenix NL wrote...

Definitely try writing again, we'll always be more than happy to read it! If you're worried about him mining your computer just keep it on a USB stick. I always carry one in my pocket with my files on it so I can always sit down and add bits if something comes to mind.leborum wrote...

I guess part of it is a lack of confidence on my part too, not putting it all down to him! I haven't written any fanfic, I just do my own stories but you know what they say, you're your own worst critic!madlily wrote...

I'm not even gonna try to catch up on the 20 pages or so I missed this weekend. Don't think I missed anything too important.
Story time!
Friday my husband snuck in from work while I was on the phone and had a piece of fiction I was writing up on my computer. (I write stuff down to get it out of my head for personal use - none of it's published. Well not exactly none, I've done a couple of prompts for the KMeme. Cuz, you know, it's a good writing exercise *cough*) He totally busted me and made so much fun of me for writing fanfiction that I said I wasn't, in fact, writing anything I was reading someone else's. This seemed somehow less offensive to him, although he still clearly disapproves. Anyway, I promptly deleted everything I have ever written (even though I keep them as hidden files on my lappy) which was, like, 3 years of stuff. I feel like an idiot. I haven't caved to peer pressure like that in about 15 years. I figured you guys would understand my pain.

When I decided that I dont want hubby to read my stories no more, I uploaded them all to Deviant Art under a account name he doesnt know. Then I deleted them all from my laptop. You can always just put them all on a stick and hide that somewhere, hehThat's what I was going to do but didnt have a stick laying around that he doesnt use. So I had to go with Plan B <_<

Photodump incoming! This is my last Shepard, who unfortunately suffers from random breakouts of Duckmouth syndrome.
One of my other favourite moments is during the goodbye scene, when Shepard turns to leave but he pulls her in for the kiss and guides her hand to his hip. It's all those beautiful, subtle movements that I love about the Kaidan romance and they totally encapsulate everything he represents -- quiet, gentle control.

Gonna be late for work, but this is more important.
Hon, undelete what you can! You can enjoy things that are just for you, no matter how corny or immature others think it is. Life would suck if we all only stayed on the straight, narrow, acceptable paths. No one needs to know what you write, unless you choose to share it. Part of writing keeps you "sane" (lacking a better word) - it keeps your creativity flowing, keeps you thinking. If you have to, minimize the window, or save and open something else if you walk away and are afraid. Alt-tab if he gets close. Keep things on a thumb drive, if you want. But don't delete 3 years of work just like that.
And link to what you wrote on Kmeme, please? Past week I've been devouring them.
