Anyhoo, those that write fanfic - please don't stop! I love reading people's stories, and yes I too know the feeling of wanting to hide screen though since I told hubby about it he was all for it - then when I said I had an idea of my own he was really supportive. Shame I'm facing a bit of a block on my main thread of creativity at the moment, but once I see a way forward I'll continue and see how it goes. I'd tried writing fiction in the past and ran into a wall on that because I would have had to do a heap of research. But this time I have a whole world that Bioware have created that I can explore with ideas.
But really, you have all inspired me with your ambition and artistic talents, and it's only from chatting to all of you that I've felt like even trying to write something myself. That's a big thing!

This has been me exactly. I've begun several works of my own over the years, but I always hit a wall with them that discourages me from pressing forward. It's as much a confidence issue for me as anything else; I am hyper critical of my work and spend hours agonising over it and eventually discourage myself so badly I can't even bear to look at it.
I was SO EXCITED last night when I opened my Hotmail account and saw a bunch of notifications from fanfiction.net that people had favourited my stories. XD I didn't really expect anyone much to read them at all, much less like them. It's difficult to reconcile it in my mind because I am so hard on myself, but that and all the great people here have definitely inspired me to keep writing my random thoughts down, and it's great practice; like oiling a creaky hinge. I'm slowly finding my voice again, even if I'm using someone else's starting point to do it.
Finding this thread was the best thing ever.

If only it worked this way lol, I know which one I want to write, the others just won't let it come out and play so I can put it on the computer. You'd think they'd figure out that they'd get written faster if they would take turns.:innocent:leborum wrote...

- Ending/Post ending fic - detailing with finding Shepard in the rubble and her recovery (obviously Shenko, I don't do anything else
) - Pre ME 3 detailing Shepard's incarceration, and how she got to be such good friends with James (still Shenko I promise)
- AU fic running from two years before Shepard joined the Alliance through the series (this one is kind of having to wait for me to replay the entire series and record it, so that I have all my references on my computer.)
- Cerberus station mission - where you watch the videos of Shepard's resurrection. I just felt that there could have been more to it than we saw.
- My original work, which is going to stay put until I get rid of these other ones.
*edit for mispelling and missed closing paranthesis.

Kyria, I desperately need #1. Seriously. That ending was too awful and I'm not sure if I can wait until extended cutscene dlc...happy Shenko moments, please
I am really trying, everytime I open word to write it, number 3 jumps in, then 2 jumps in front of that, then 4 hops up to join the argument. Poor 5 is feeling so left out since I haven't even looked at it since the ending of ME 3. I'll see what I can do about it after a nap. I have a cold and I want to lay down for a bit. *stupid midwest spring weather can't make up its bloody mind*

That's a super video though - flycam makes it feel like you're backstage, rather than in the audience - you see how they frame the shots. It's not like it's the characters any more, it's now a dress rehersal... though the guy lying down was just hilarious.
