I've completed ME3 3 times - romanced Kaidan every time. I'm just now finishing up my final 100% playthrough of 1/2 (Finally got BDtS and Overlord, for a complete DLC experience), so that'll be the base Shepard I do any other ME3 playthroughs of. Only chance I'll ever romance anyone but Kaidan though is if they fix Thane.

I am currently doing a completionist play through of all three games, with what I am planning on becoming my canon Shepard. I can't bring myself to romance anyone else, even Thane though he is probably the closest I would come.

whats wrong with thane, i didn't like the guy glad he died he annoyed me to bits, sorry if that makes me  cold

I wouldn't romance anyone else even if I wanted to in another playthrough. I can't stand to play as MaleShep, I don't like alien romances or same sex romances (personal preference for when I play, I have no problem with them or anything), and I don't like Jacob. Which leaves me with... Kaidan. Not that I'm complaining or anything.

if you did romance jacob he does a terrible thing to shepard in me3, so very sad and so much anger for your shepard

I could romance Thane...if he wasn't going to die and if it didn't mean I was cheating on Kaidan...but since every single time I play ME1, I have to romance Kaidan, that is never going to happen...

I am the exact same way, I cannot play ME and not romance Kaidan.  I also can't short cut it by doing the genesis comic because there are some of the minor decisions that it annoys me to no end that aren't done in that, so I have to play all three games to play any one of them.  So it's Kaidan all the way for me.<3

So this is my plan of attack

ME1: infiltrator
Kill off ashley
Romance Kaidan
Keep rachnai queen alive
Save the council
Keep wrex alive

ME2: Vanguard
when i died, i lost all my tech skills, but gained some powerful biotics
Gain all loyalties
Keep everyone alive
Spare Malons data
Kill the heritics
Kill morolith
No romances

ME3: sentinal
After been locked up for 6 months i've lost most of my soldier abilites, however my tech abilities have reappeared

And so on and so forth


Now, any ideas i should add or change because you lot mean alot to me so i'd like your ideas

I love Thane - I think he's one of the more amazing characters. But they so screwed up with him in ME3 - especially where romances are concerned - that I can't bring myself to import in a Thanemance from 2. I don't want to break my heart that way.

This is a new playthough, one i have not yet completed (started today, stoped playing when became spectre), on my main file, i've never switched classes
