I have always gotten the feeling that Anderson has taken alot of crap for everything Shepard has done. He almost acts like an overprotective father. He keeps that shield up between the politicians and Shep I think.

I love both of them to be honest. Though I did get a little annoyed with just how much crap Shepard got for what happened. Shepard destroys Sovereign and  the Collectors and is there a thank you from the Alliance? No. I understand the need for a trial for what happened in Arrival.

Not really. You missed me getting a bit frustrated on the other thread but all is good now. Tami and Kyria fixed me up with some Kaidan goodness.

Not really. You missed me getting a bit frustrated on the other thread but all is good now. Tami and Kyria fixed me up with some Kaidan goodness.

well i just finished Arrival with my renegade character, and i told hackett i expect a reward. he wasn't at all too pleased with that. for me i find hackett to be really annoying, always asking shepard to do things for her, in me1 and in me2 and then alot more in me3. he for me is just soo darn rude. i know he is an admiral but shepard is just 1 person and she/he has alot to deal with.

but i do like anderson, i feel like he is a very protective father figure.

Hahaha. I didn't like Hackett until ME3, though he was nice enough not to abandon Shepard in ME2 :innocent:

Yeah, it has. Haha. I avoid everyone who mentions "On/Off" stuff  
I got yelled at because I said I was waiting for the extended cutscene dlc...then I came over to this thread, looked at some Kaidan and got all excited.

On the topic of Anderson, is it ever fleshed out/explained/referenced how he and Shepard got their father/daughter(son) type relationship in the first place? They seem pretty formal in the beginning of ME1, eventually opening up into a more casual friendship after Shep gets the Normandy, in ME2 things are still professional but in a more caring way, and then all of a sudden we get the full blown protective parental mentor figure in ME3. Unless there's something prior, it seems like a rather large leap.
They knew each other prior to being stationed on the Normandy, right?

I assumed they knew each other because they are both N7s, so I thought they met before...? Wiki doesn't say anything

I don't think so, actually. Only by reputation, anyway.  But the passage of time is difficult to gauge in the game, so it's hard to say how long they'd known each other really, even if it was a fresh posting.

I see your point, but to me this growth felt natural. Especially since I have Earthborn Shep so I always considered Anderson and Chakwas to be his parent figures, taking him under their wings. Dunno if it makes sense

I figured the new closeness between them grew out of the fact that Anderson and Vega were the only ones that she could talk to in prison and he very much had her back over the minor issue of blowing up the Batarians' home system.

Let me do some research on it, my memory is from the books, it may have also been in the Codex, but I'll have to research it for sure.

Glad everyone has enjoyed it.  I'm not gonna lie, it brought tears to my eyes the first time I watched it...and everytime since.
