There was a tweet from EDI's VA saying that she was going in to record more dialogue on Monday.

I woke up this morning with the thought "It makes sense for her to do extra dialog, moreso than other VAs".  Now I'm trying to make sense of it, and best I came up with, is that of all the characters EDI is most affected by the endings.  EDI can become partially organic, or be destroyed.  Maybe she narrates the clarifications, as BW have stated they're not changing them (are they still holding to this in recent news?).  Or, perish the thought, Star Brat is retconned into a visage of EDI.

If they rehire the other VAs for stuff, then I will have hope.

Or, they're rehiring Helfer to do voicework for other, non-ending, upcoming DLC.

Jessica Merizan and co. have confirmed that EDI can survive the destroy option and that it's not a glitch so at least in that ending she's not affected any more than anyone else?

Yeah, I really don't know what to think about that. I recall that when the EC was announced, people were touting the news articles about the Shepards not beig scheduled to record anything, and Gamble shot them down by saying "not yet", implying that the Extended Cut would at least have more dialogue, if not actual gameplay. But there's really no telling at this point just how comprehensive this ending DLC is going to be. I understand them not wanting to reveal everything until it's set in stone but it's hard not to be trepidatious.

On the one hand, they said they put on hold all other DLC to focus primarily on the Extended Cut. On the other hand, voice work is generally recorded way in advance of everything else, so if Tricia Helfer is going in to record, then it COULD just be other scheduled DLC that was written previously. I don't know. I want to believe it's the former, and we're not getting any similar infor from other VAs because Tricia wasn't supposed to say anything.


Either way, if I get a call saying I have to let Sbarge out of the basement, I'll let you know.

I thought this comment basically summarises why Kaidan is a super awesome character:

I don't know about many of you... but I do actually like the ME2 Horizon arc with Kaidan... And to see how he's grown into a leader on his own. I'm glad to see that his personal growth and "mistrust" are implemented well in ME3... Thought the culimination at the Cerberus Base is just really good. Glanced through the comments for the last 10 pages but I'm still wondering: did Ms.Cathleen (I hope I didn't butchered her name) wrote him for ME2 too?

Would absolutely love to contribute to the letter for her but I think I missed the deadline?

Also, the writer of the article hinted that Shep and Kaidan knew each other before the Eden Prime mission... Did I just missed that reference from anywhere?

As angry as I was at the horizon scene it wasnt directed at Kaidan but at my Shepard and the lousy dialogue options. "hey been awhile what's up" was a really inconsiderate thing to say to someone who loved you and thought you were dead. I detested Cerberus and I am glad Kaidan stood his ground and held firm to his beliefs. I didnt want to work with or for Cerberus. First chance I got I went straight to the citadel to see Anderson, but the game forces you to work with Cerberus. My Shepard was Alliance through and through. It would have sat better with me if Hackett and Anderson told Shepard to remain with Cerberus and provide key intel.

Also I got the feeling that Shepard knew Anderson but had just met the rest of the crew in ME1 so I am not sure where she got that reference from.

I totally agree. I was stunned the first time I heard my Shep say that. Seriously, after everything that's the best you can come up with? I did the same as you and went running back to Anderson, after being told I should basically be grateful that they reinstated my Spectre status I wanted back in with the Alliance! Every chance I got to send them intel I did..... I remember what Cerberus did in ME1 and I hadn't forgotten Kahoku....

This this this this. I cannot express how much I hate Shepard's idiotic writing during that scene. I don't blame Kaidan's response; it's understandable, even if I don't like being yelled at.  What I can't understand is Shepard's non-chalance. With regard to the actual romance, it was the email afterwards that hurt more, really, because it was so non-committal.Again, understandable, but again, leaves you with absolutely no recourse. So frustrating, I wanted to just slap her.




In a completely unrelated, off-topic, act of utterly shameless self-promotion, while I was digging around my harddrive this morning trying to organise my folders, I found the only other piece of fanfic I had written before you terrible people got me drunk and made me write those silly Shenko fics (that's my story).
It's a DA2 Hawke/Anders piece, if anyone's interested.  It contains more real (overwrought) writing and less copout dialogue. Oh my.

Cathleen was only a dialogue editor in ME2 so she couldn't write Kaidan (or anyone) back then
