There is Kaidan... Slightly older .. Still waiting for Shepard to show up. Still glinging to that last promise.

New chapter is up: If It Meant Living-53: Atonement / Alt. DA Link. Kaidan's awake, reading and writing. Maybe a little

I'm so glad I don't have to worry and fret over Horizon anymore! Hated it every time, my issues were also entirely with Shepard's lame and often inappropriate dialogue options - and not being able to chase after him, of course! (fixed that: If It Meant Living: Parallel Realities). I'm sure eventually I will do a new full playthrough of 1-3, and I'll still hate it, but mostly I'm just glad it's behind us.
Have a sleepy Kaidan and Shepard:

As angry as I was at the horizon scene it wasnt directed at Kaidan but at my Shepard and the lousy dialogue options. "hey been awhile what's up" was a really inconsiderate thing to say to someone who loved you and thought you were dead.
This this this this. I cannot express how much I hate Shepard's idiotic writing during that scene. I don't blame Kaidan's response; it's understandable, even if I don't like being yelled at.What I can't understand is Shepard's non-chalance. With regard to the actual romance, it was the email afterwards that hurt more, really, because it was so non-committal.Again, understandable, but again, leaves you with absolutely no recourse. So frustrating, I wanted to just slap her.

Also, the writer of the article hinted that Shep and Kaidan knew each other before the Eden Prime mission... Did I just missed that reference from anywhere?

I'm glad I'm not the only one who got mad at Shepard. She sounded so...dumb. And mean. I picked the first option and as soon as she opened her mouth, I was shocked by what she said. And Kaidan started yelling and no matter what I picked, Shepard sounded more...retarded and he got angrier...
She also let him go too...easily, imo.

I just started an ME1 playthrough last night and I think this comes more from the lack of an introduction between Shepard and Kaidan. I just had my first meeting with Saren and the council and it feels more like Shep and Kaidan have maybe been on like one small mission or two before this game. They seem comfortable with each other but they don't know a lot about each other as shown by all the question we can ask Kaidan and how he reacts when you talk to him on the Normandy after Eden Prime. He's all like "Oh yeah, you did <insert whatever history>" and he asks about your family.
I got the impression that they've already been introduced and not just right before ME1. It hasn't been long though.
