The goodbye scene was the best thing in the whole game. Probably even better than the romance scene...because it is so sad and I love it how he is almost crying...they are almost cryin...

I love how seamlessly he goes from "Heeeeey" to *smouldering sex eyes*. I could seriously watch this all day long. Hell, on Thursday I did.

Or, in the alternative, the worst.  Because Shepard is actually saying goodbye to him forever.  At least they get that moment that most couples don't?  It's nice they get to say goodbye to one another.  I mean unless a prolonged terminal illness is involved, which is probably more terrible.  I'm not saying it isn't awesome, just that it's heart wrenching and he's wearing more clothes than say, the "romance" scene.

Oh, I AM watching it all night long...I loved how he just stopped her form leaving and kissed her right there...Best. Moment. Ever. I was completely in love :wub:

i agree that goodbye kiss was most likey one of the most romantic/sadest moments i have seen ina game, book, moive...to me it just somed up everything about them... and when you think about it. shep and kaidan never really had enough time as a couple. and if your man shep... you get less time..witch in a away, makes it bittersweet..

Kaidan was vulnerable the night before Ilos.  And when he was talking about Rahna. 
That scene, while well done, was like a slap in the face:
amazingly hot kiss initiated by Kaidan as Shepard turns away
Kaidan: I can't lose you again
And then the crucible explodes with Shepard inside and he ends up on some unknown world, (despite the fact that I explored all of them during ME1, at least I thought I had).

Joke's on you, Kaidan!

Seriously. That's the whole reason the ending killed me. Those romance scenes where they gave me so much hope that they would make it out alive...

Well. Just hoping for some really good clarification DLC and if not I can headcanon it. whatevs.

See, it was different. In ME3, he had lost her once, and you felt how much her death had affected him right there. When he was sad over Rahna, it was for someone else, so I was like "whatever". Ilos...yeah, but we didn't know him as much as we did in ME3; Shepard didn't know him THAT well.

His voice was shaky...I could swear he was going to cry right there...(well, in my head he was crying, even though nobody got a crying scene with tears besides Liara and Cortez..at least not in my game)

I'm not saying I wasn't devastated; if you go back a couple of pages you will see me complaining about how the goodbye scene was horrible and how I cried (I really did. My mom and I cried together)

But it wasn't "whatever" that he felt bad about Rahna.  It was a super major big deal that he was sharing that with Shepard.  That was before he joined the Alliance (which means, depending on your interpretation of the "eventually" line reagarding his father in the first scene out of the med bay, that it was either the reason he was estranged from his family or the reason he went of the grid before enlisting),and something very personal to him.  He doesn't let people in very easily and, while I continue to believe that he got laid between Alchera and Horizon, I still think the Rahna ahd Shepard are the only people he's every really been close to. 

And you're right.  He was crying.  Even if they didn't animate those tears, it doesn't make them any less real.

Edit: interesting that we're sticking to A middle names here.

2nd Edit: it's past my bedtime and I have a Turian Sentinel to unlock this weekend.  I'm throwing in the towel.

@leborum hm...I really don't think you understood me. Haha. I meant I thought "whatever" at the time I had the conversation because it did not make me feel emotional towards what he said. Sure, it was sad, but I barely knew the character and he didn't have any connection to my Shepard at the time. So it was different.

actually they both know that one of them might not come back
especially when Kaidan said "We know the score, We know this is goodbye"
