Just been reading over this thread and I am happy to find that I am not the only one who's a little obsessed with Kaidan (feels good to admit it - my boyfriend things I'm nutty). I have to say that I have played through as BroShep and while I did enjoy it, it just isn't the same playing without any Kaidan love.

And ever since playing Pokemon Crystal on Gameboy Color, I can only play female characters...

When given the choice, I can't ever play as a male, either. When I'm playing games, especially the "create your main character" sort, I feel the need to essentially place myself into the game through the character I'm making. Otherwise, I begin to feel a bit disconnected... I really need to feel like I WANT to save the world and help all these people or do whatever it is the game wants me to do, and if I can't even connect to the characters, I have absolutely no personal motivation and reason to keep going. Which is also why I can't play any games without relatable, lovable characters.

Fable 2 is the only game I've ever purposely played as a male instead of a female. I know looks aren't everything, but the female character in that game REALLY kills me. That, and all the men are shorter than her. And you have to be the one to initiate any romantic interactions. And it's weird that you leave your newborn with your husband while you're off adventuring.

Still in the process of recording cutscenes, and I can't decide what to do... Should I finish my playthrough of ME3, or start a new one on ME1? Both sound so tempting, full of Kaidan-y goodness...

Has anyone discovered the magic method to regaining sanity and taking minds off of Kaidan for a few minutes? Just got back from the cinema, went out to see Titanic with a couple of friends, and I spent the last 30 minutes of the film sobbing. Why? Not strictly because the movie is sad - yes, I cry at the very end every time, but I've seen it 21 times already and I know what's coming. No, the reason I was crying was that the first goodbye scene between Jack and Rose reminded me of Kaidan's goodbye... And, of course, throughout the rest of the film, I could only picture Shep and Kaidan and make relations back to ME3, which had me sobbing (I think the music helped a little, though).
My brain is messed up. Why can't I take my mind off of these two, even for a few hours? :crying: *mopes off to try and find some happy fanfics*

Nope, however, if you do, please inform the rest of us... thanks /sigh:blush::unsure:

Well, you could try my approach; play Dragon Ae Origins and obsess over Alistair for a while instead.

This is a great list, I'd always wondered what the conditions were for some of the deaths I've experienced. Some with self-explanatory but others were a bit left field. This explains it.

Yeah I couldn't figure out why Tali kept failing the Hold The Line section. My end team was Grunt and Garrus. She finally lived when I took her and miranda, and left Grunt and Garrus as defenders. It's a pretty awesome guide.

Maybe we should be grateful Kaidan didn't join us. Can you imagine going to the collector base and having Kaidan fall in the final moments? I think my heart would've busted.

I know what you mean about Fable 2. I acutally never finished Fable 2, especially because when you start getting stronger, the chracter becomes...huge. I like Fable 3 more, because you don't get that effect.

I would say finish ME3. I mean, you've started it already, so you might as well finish it...though I'm starting off a new game on ME1 when I get home. :P

My character in Fable 2 turned into this giant hideous she-Hulk creature with glowing blue scars.  Fable 3 was definitely an improvement over that.  I didn't mind leaving the kids at home though.  Husband Elliott was a sensitive guy after all.

I don't mind playing male heroes in games, or at least have gotten so used to it in the 20 years I've been playing it's become normal.  If the story is told well enough then I'll feel immersed in the game world and I'll gladly go along with romancing the female NPC is that's part of the arc.  Mass Effect was the first game I played that provided the separate options for male/female.  I would still enjoy Mass Effect playing as default maleshep, but being able to choose to play a female and have voice acting just blew my mind at the time.  It just added that additional level to role-playing.

Do you know what day?

Is the letter more or less in its final form, or are more changes and additions (beyond additional comments) planned?

I'm still not sure I want to submit a personal comment. I usually don't like to inflict my verbiage on people.

I see you married Elliot too!! Hahaha. He was a nice husband. Wish we could've gotten engaged with Kaidan...:crying:

Now I need to read some happy fanfics...

Oh, I dind't use to mind playing male heroes, until I ran into Mass Effect. Then RPG had to offer a female version or I wouldn't be able to play it. I can play other genres, just not RPG. :?

Speaking of marrying Kaidan, I just found this today.  Good thing people asked Raphael Sbarge to say, "Marry me, Shepard" during the livestream.

...Am I a dishonorable member of society if I have no idea what on Earth that movie is? Nice PS job, though!

You know, I love BSN's color schemes. My migraine may be preventing me from doing much else, but the dark gray, black, and dark yellow tones on my BSN theme still allow me to browse the forums without head pain!

/comfort

I know, when I get one coming on, BSN is about the only thing I can look at because of the dark colors.

Oh and I think I know what movie that is, but I am not sure as I haven't ever actually seen it.

Hahaaha, it's Pulp Fiction. I'm suffering from the same problem you were talking about earlier in that I was sitting here watching it and couldn't help but inserting Kaidan. :P

I'm sorry to hear about your migraine, though. :( I haven't had one in a long time *touch wood* but used to get them a lot. I hope it passes for you soon!

Actually, when they were saying goodbyes, I thought he was going to say something like "when this is over, I want to spend the rest of my life with you" but nope. Oh well.

Current thinking is May 4th for final date for submissions - and if anyone wants to submit anonymous comments then I can absolutely do that if you prefer - just PM them to me via BSN. Or if you have general editorial comments about the main sections of the letter, let me know - I might add a third paragraph before the comments to balance the letter out a bit better, then flow into the comments.

Note that I won't edit anyone's direct comments because those are your words - unless you actually do want me to edit them before adding them, in which case please let me know!

One extra note on the final form of the letter - I'm planning on doing some work on the presentation outside of Google docs, since there's nothing on there for production-level presentation design work :) The google doc is just for gathering the important part - our ideas and feedback! The presentation will be done after we have the content, and I'll post previews and gather comments on that before we ship it.

Ah. Never seen that movie, although can I get a brownie point for at least recognizing a name?  And thanks for the sympathy ~ I've been getting them more often now, and I have no clue why :? Maybe I'm secretly an L2?

Quick question: I've currently got six Shenko fanfics in the works, could I get some opinions on which one to finish first?
1. Next chapter of my prompt collection (This one including cuddling, fluff, and awkward Vega moments)
2. Shep's mom makes a visit to the Normandy, and, being the loving mother she is, decides to pry into her daughter's personal life. Also, Garrus finds a love for Windex cocktails.
3. Shep, Kaidan, and Ashley are temporarily stranded planetside thanks to some Mako woes, and Shep decides to pass the time with an "innocent" snowball fight.
4. Sequel to another fic I had written (Protheans Don't Sing), Joker feels guilty over his latest stunt and wants to get Shep a gift to make up for it so she doesn't kill him on sight, but he isn't the best at shopping for women (this includes plenty of band-aids and fluff... lterally!)
5. Leaving Earth ficlet that's been in my brain since the leaked demo, just a hurt/comfort Shenko piece.
6. Less developed, but still stuck in my brain from before the game came out, another hurt/comfort Shenko piece (although fluffy as well). Oddly enough, what I've written in my brain from pre-ME3 fits almost perfectly for a Post-Thessia fic, which is probably what this would be.

Any thoughts on which I should finish first? The top three are each already half typed, the bottom three being mostly written in my brain.
